PF-rings of Generalized Power Series

  • In this paper, we show that if R is a commutative ring with identity and (S, ${\leq}$) is a strictly totally ordered monoid, then the ring [[$R^{S,{\leq}}$]] of generalized power series is a PF-ring if and only if for any two S-indexed subsets A and B of R such that $B{\subseteq}ann_R(|A)$, there exists $c{\in}ann_R(A)$ such that $bc=b$ for all $b{\in}B$, and that for a Noetherian ring R, $[[R^{S,{\leq}}$]] is a PP ring if and only if R is a PP ring.

토마토와 파프리카의 포장실태조사 및 포장재 종류에 따른 품질변화 (Survey on packaging status and changes in quality of tomato and paprika using different packaging types)

  • 본 연구에서는 과채류의 포장실태를 조사하고, 포장방법을 달리한 토마토 및 파프리카의 저장 중 품질변화를 측정하였다. 포장실태조사는 서울에 소재한 백화점, 대형할인 마트, 동네슈퍼마켓을 대상으로 조사하였으며 주로 골판지 상자, PP, LDPE, PS, PVC 등의 재질로 포장되어 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 토마토와 파프리카의 포장형태별 품질변화를 측정하기 위하여 토마토는 골판지 상자+PP film, PP film bag, 파프리카는 PP film bag, 스티로폼 tray+PVC film wrapping 형태로 포장한 후 상온저장하며 품질변화를 측정 하였다. 저장 48시간 후 포장하지 않은 토마토와 파프리카의 중량감모율이 다른 처리구에 비하여 증가하였으며 경도는 저장 중 감소하였다. 골판지 상자로 포장한 토마토는 저장 중 가용성 고형분 함량이 유의적으로 높았던 반면, pH값은 처리구 중에서 가장 낮았으며 유의적인 차이는 없었다. 토마토는 골판지 상자+PP film, 파프리카는 PP film bag으로 포장한 경우 저장 중 품질유지에 효과적이었다.

배, 맥아, 대추, 익모초, 황금 및 이들 혼합물의 생리활성 (Physiological activities of Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai, malt, Ziziphus jujuba Mill., Leonurus japonicus Houtt., Scutellaria baicalensis, and their mixtures)

  • 본 연구는 염증을 개선하고 소화에 도움을 주는 최적 혼합물 개발을 위한 소재 발굴을 위해 11종류 식물 추출물을 이용하여 항염증, 트립신 활성 및 항산화 효과를 알아보았다. LPS로 염증이 유도된 RAW 264.7 대식세포에서 대추(ZJ), 익모초(LJ), 황금(SB), 도라지 그리고 참취 추출물은 과분비 되는 NO와 TNF-α 함량을 감소시켜 뛰어난 항염증 효과가 있었다. 11개의 시료 중 맥아(MA), 배(PP), 무 그리고 도라지 추출물은 트립신 활성이 높았다. DPPH 라디칼 소거작용으로 항산화 효과를 알아본 결과 SB, PP, ZJ 그리고 MA 추출물이 높은 항산화 효과가 있었다. 따라서 염증을 개선하면서 소화에 도움을 주는 최적 혼합물 개발을 위해 배, 맥아, 대추, 익모초 그리고 황금을 선택하였다. LPS로 자극한 RAW 264.7 대식세포에서 PP, MA, ZJ, LJ 및 SB(1:1:2:1:2, w/w)을 함유하는 혼합물의 추출물은 각각의 PP, MA, ZJ, LJ 및 SB의 추출물보다 NO 생산을 현저하게 억제하였다. 혼합물 추출물의 DPPH 라디칼 소거작용은 PP, MA, ZJ 및 LJ의 각각의 추출물보다 현저하게 높았다.

  • Three big U.S. automakers have developed the QS-9000 quality system for their su, pp.iers. These automakers are requiring their su, pp.iers to implement the QS-9000 based quality system. This QS-9000 system is based upon the ISO 9000 series quality systems. This paper describes the differences between the ISO 9000 series requirements and the QS-9000 requirements. It also suggests the way to implement the QS-9000 quality systems for Korean su, pp.iers.

  • Thin films of pp(ST-Co-VA) were fabricated by plasma deposition polymerization (PVDPM) technique. Properties of the plasma polymerized pp(ST-Co-VA) thin films were investigated for application to semiconductor device as insulator. Thickness, dielectric property, composition of the pp(ST-Co-VA) thin films were investigated considering the relationship with preparation condition such as gas pressure and deposition time. In order to verify the possibility of application to organic thin film transistor, a pentacene thin film was deposited on the pp(ST-Co-VA) insulator by vacuum thermal evaporation technique. Crystalline property of the pentacene thin film was investigated by XRD and SEM, FT-IR. Surface properties at the pp(ST-Co-VA)/pentacene interface was investigated by contact angle measurement. The pp(ST-Co-VA) thin film showed a high-k (k=4.6) and good interface characteristic with pentacene semiconducting layer, which indicates that it would be a promising material for organic thin film transistor (OTFT) application.

  • The fracture mechanics investigation of the thermoplastic vulcanizates(TPV) from EPDM and PP/Ionomer ternary blends was performed in terms of the J-integral by measuring fracture energy via the locus method. The TPV from ternary blends consisting of EPDM, PP and ionomer were prepared in a laboratory integral mixer by blending and vulcanizing simultaneously. Vulcanization was performed with dicumyl peroxide (DCP) and the composition of EPDM and PP was fixed at 50/50 by weight. Two kinds of poly(ethylene-co-methacrylic acid) (EMA) lonomers were used. The J-integral values at crack initiation, Jc, of the dynamically vulcanized EPDM and PP/EMA Ionomer ternary blends were affected by the cation types $(Na^+\;or\;Zn^{2+})$ and contents(5-20wt%) of the added EMA Ionomers. The ternary blend containing 20wt% zinc-neutralized EMA Ionomer and 1.0phr DCP showed the highest Jc values of the blends.

The Association of Ponticulus Posticus & Elongated Styloid Process with Headaches

  • Purpose: The present study was designed to investigate the association of ponticulus posticus (PP) and elongated styloid process (ESP) with headaches. Methods: Analysis of head and neck cone beam computed tomography samples from the archives of the Department of Oral Radiology was done for the presence of partial or complete PP and ESP length, type, thickness, mediolateral angulation, anterioposterior angulation (horizontal & vertical), lateral or medial curvature. This was followed by personal & telephonic questionnaires to the subjects for the evaluation of the presence of headaches & other associated symptoms. Results: Among 134 subjects, 62 subjects (46.3%) presented with headache and 72 subjects (53.7%) did not have any headache. On further analysing the total 62 subjects with headache, it was found out that 31 subjects (50.0%) of them had ESP and PP both, 16 subjects (25.8%) had only ESP, and 15 subjects (24.2%) had only PP. A strong association was present between headache and presence of PP & ESP individually and together. Conclusions: All health care professionals dealing with the head and neck pain disorders should also consider the presence of ESP & PP during diagnosis and treatment.

Effect of Combined Traditional Acupuncture, Pharmacopuncture and Applied Kinesiology on Lumbar Diseases of Resident Patients

  • Objectives: Recently several Korean medical doctors have begun practicing applied kinesiology (AK). Although the efficacy of combining traditional acupuncture (TA) and pharmacopuncture (PP) on lumbar diseases such as lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) and lumbar herniation of intervertebral disk (LHID) has been examined, the possible benefits of combining TA, PP and AK approaches have not been examined. Therefore the aim of this study was to develop effective treatment for lumbar disorders by combining TA, PP, and AK treatments. Methods: Twenty-four patients hospitalized at Samse Korean Traditional Medicine Hospital between March and September 2018 with L5 or S1 root radiculopathy associated with LSS and LHID were included in this study. They were treated for 10 days with TA, PP and AK approaches that included category block, manipulation and strain/counterstrain treatments. The primary outcomes were mainly assessed using Japanese Orthopedic Association lumbar scores (JOALS). JOALS were determined before the start of treatment as well as five and 10 days after treatment started. Results: The treatments improved the lumbar condition of the patients based on JOA pain score. Conclusion: The combined TA, PP and AK treatments were effective in treating spinal diseases of resident patients. Prospective, controlled, and relevant protocols using multimodal strategies to define the role of TA, PP and AK are needed.

  • In this paper, ITO gate electrode surface was modified using $O_2$ plasma and organic gate insulating layers were deposited on the ITO surface using plasma polymerization technique. In order to investigate the influence of the plasma coupling method and plasma conditions on the plasma polymerized methyl methacrylate (ppMMA) thin film properties, inductively coupled (ICP) and capacitively coupled plasma (CCP) were used to generate the plasma and the plasma parameters were varied. The ppMMAs were investigated using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and a Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Dielectric constants of the ppMMA thin films were investigated using a impedance analyzer (HP4192A, LF Impedance Analyzer). Current-Voltage (I-V) characteristics of the organic thin film transistors (OTFTs) were investigated using a source measurement unit (SMU: Keithley 2612). Proposed method can be applied to dry-process to fabricate OTFTs during overall fabricating steps.
