PMO Theory of Orbital Interactions (Ⅳ). n-n Orbital Interactions in Some Heteroatom Systems (궤도간 상호작용의 섭동분자궤도 이론 (제4보). 헤테로 원자계에서의 n-n 궤도간 상호작용)

  • The CNDO/2 and STO-3G calculations were performed on nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur compounds in order to examine the effect of interactions between two nonbonding (n) orbitals in the same molecule separated by N intervening $\sigma$ bonds based on the PMO approach. Calculated basis level energies, energy splittings, and interaction energy changes for both chain and cyclic model compounds were qualitatively compared with the corresponding predictions derived from perturbational formalism for n-n orbital interactions and successfully explained in terms of the derived energy expressions. In general, through-space interaction term could be neglected in the N and O systems. And the calculated results were explained simply by through-bond interaction term. As a result, through-bond interaction placed n- below n+ for odd systems and n+ below n- for even systems. Also energy splittings in odd systems were larger than those in even systems. However, in the cases of cis-ethylene diamine and o-phenylene diamine(conformer VI in Table 4), through-space interaction term was found to be substantial and the opposing effects of through-space and through-bonds interactions were observed. Finally it was found that the interactions between two n orbitals on S atoms always had some contribution of the destabilizing through-space interaction term. This result was consistent with the fact that the lone pair lobes of third elements were larger in size than those of the second period elements.

Analysis of Optimum Antenna Placement Considering Interference Between Airborne Antennas Mounted on UAV (무인항공기 탑재 안테나 간 간섭을 고려한 안테나 최적 위치 분석)

  • In this paper, the optimum antenna placement is analyzed by considering the interference between airborne antennas mounted on the unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). The analysis is implemented by selecting the antennas that the distance and operational frequency band between airborne antennas is close to each other among the omni-directional antennas. The analyzed antennas are the control datalink, TCAS(Traffic Collision & Avoidance System), IFF(Identification Friend or Foe), GPS(Global Positioning System), and RALT(Radar ALTimeter) antennas. There are three steps for the optimum antenna placement analysis. The first step is selecting the antenna position having the optimum properties by monitoring the variation of radiation pattern and return loss by the fuselage of UAV after selecting the initial antenna position considering the antenna use, type, and radiation pattern. The second one is analyzing the interference strength between airborne antennas considering the coupling between airborne antennas, spurious of transmitting antenna, and minimum receiving level of receiving antenna. In case of generating the interference, the antenna position without interference is selected by analyzing the minimum separation distance without interference. The last one is confirming the measure to reject the frequency interference by the frequency separation analysis between airborne antennas in case that the intereference is not rejected by the additional distance separation between airborne antennas. This analysis procedure can be efficiently used to select the optimum antenna placement without interference by predicting the interference between airborne antennas in the development stage.

Metagenomics analysis of methane metabolisms in manure fertilized paddy soil (메타게놈 분석을 이용한 돈분뇨 처리에 의한 논토양에서 메탄대사에 미치는 영향 조사)

  • Under flooded rice fields, methanogens produce methane which comes out through rice stalks, thus rice fields are known as one of the anthropogenic sources of atmospheric methane. Studies have shown that use of manure increases amount of methane emission from rice. To investigate mechanisms by which manure boosts methane emission, comparative soil metagenomics between inorganically (NPK) and pig manure fertilized paddy soils (PIG) were conducted. Results from taxonomy analysis showed that more abundant methanogens, methanotrophs, methylotrophs, and acetogens were found in PIG than in NPK. In addition, BLAST results indicated more abundant carbohydrate mabolisetm functional genes in PIG. Among the methane metabolism related genes, PIG sample showed higher abundance of methyl-coenzyme M reductase (mcrB/mcrD/mcrG) and trimethylamine-corrinoid protein Co-methyltransferase (mttB) genes. In contrast, genes that down regulate methane emission, such as trimethylamine monooxygenase (tmm) and phosphoserine/homoserine phosphotransferase (thrH), were observed more in NPK sample. In addition, more methanotrophic genes (pmoB/amoB/mxaJ), were found more abundant in PIG sample. Identifying key genes related to methane emission and methane oxidation may provide fundamental information regarding to mechanisms by which use of manure boosts methane emission from rice. The study presented here characterized molecular variation in rice paddy, introduced by the use of pig manure.

  • To improve the reliability of a weapon system, we perform the activities: setting the target reliability, reliability allocation, and reliability management, etc. Before starting weapon system development, the target reliability of system is set through advanced research and is allocated to its subsystems at the beginning of development. Then we manage the reliability of system and subsystems to meet the target reliability until completion of system development. In this paper, we research representative reliability allocation methods and introduce the suitable reliability allocation method followed by its application to the underwater guided weapon system. The purpose of this research is to review the proposed reliability allocation techniques and find an appropriate method for underwater weapon systems followed by the validation of its application.

  • We observed 38 Planck Cold Clumps (PCCs) in the $850{\mu}m$ dust continuum emission using the JCMT/SCUBA-2, and detected the emission in 15 clumps containing dense cores. In this poster we present the preliminary results. The PCCs are cold, dense, and thus, they are considered as objects in the early evolutionary stages of star formation. The sources in our sample were selected based on the Purple Mountain Observatory (PMO) 13CO (1-0) integrated intensity maps. In order to examine whether these cores detected in $850{\mu}m$ continuum have potential to be prestellar cores, we compare each core mass estimated from the $850{\mu}m$ continuum with the Virial mass and Bonnor-Ebert (BE) mass calculated from the 13CO (1-0) or C18O (1-0) spectra. By comparing the two column densities from the dust continuum and the 13CO (1-0) or C18O (1-0) line, we also derive the CO depletion factor, which could be an indicator of core evolution. The moment maps of the 13CO (1-0) line are used to study the physical properties (e.g. kinematics, turbulence) of PCCs. We investigate difference between the sources with and without detectable $850{\mu}m$ emission to study the formation conditions of dense cores.

  • This paper proposes the Low-Dropout regulator with two output. Each of the two output has feedback, and shared feedback loop. PMOS is added to solve the problem the occur when sharing the feedback loop. Thus eased the Load Transient Response. Also Using one of the bias citcuit and one of the pass transistor, Area is reduce by half compared to Existing Area that used to obtain output of two output.

  • 외부전하를 감지할 수 있는 EEPROM 구조를 기반으로 한 센서를 제안하였다. 부유게이트로부터 확장된 큰 면적의 접촉부위 (CCM)는 외부전하를 고정화하도록 설계되었으며, $0.13{\mu}m$ 단일-다결정 CMOS 공정에 적합한 적층의 금속-절연체-금속 (MIM) 제어케이트구조로 구성되었다. N-채널 EEPROM의 CCW 캐패시터 영역에 양의 전압이 인가되면 제어 게이트의 문턱전압이 음의 방향으로 변화하여 드레인 전류는 증가하는 특성을 보였다. 또한 이미 충전된 외부 캐패시터가 CCW의 부유게이트의 금속영역에 직접 연결되면, 외부 캐패시터로부터 유입된 양의 전하는 n-채널 EEPROM의 드레인 전류를 증가시키지만 반면에 음의 전하는 이를 감소시켰다. 외부 전압과 전하에 의해 PMOS의 특성은 NMOS에 비교하여 반대로 나타남이 확인되었다. EEPROM 인버터의 CCW 영역에 외부전하를 연결하면 인버터의 입-출력 특성이 기준 시료에 비해 외부전하의 극성에 따라 변화하였다. 그러므로, EEPROM 인버터는 외부전하를 감지하여 부유게이트에 고정된 전하의 밀도 크기에 따라 출력을 전압으로 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

A Study on SCR-Based ESD Protection Circuit with PMOS (PMOS가 삽입된 SCR 기반의 ESD 보호 회로에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the electrical characteristics of Gate grounded NMOS(GGNMOS), Lateral insulated gate bipolar transistor(LIGBT), Silicon Controlled Rectifier(SCR), and Proposed ESD protection device were compared and analyzed. First, the trigger voltage and holding voltage were verified by simulating the I-V characteristic curve for each device. After that, the robustness was confirmed by HBM 4k simulation for each device. As a result of HBM 4k simulation, the maximum temperature of the proposed ESD protection device is lower than that of GGNMOS and GGLIGBT and SCR, which means that the robustness is improved, which means that the ESD protection device is excellent in terms of reliability.

  • Various CMOS quadrature-voltage-controlled oscillators(QVCOS) are designed and fabricated for the comparison of the phase noise characteristic. The first one is that the QVCO is composed of two Colpitts oscillators cross-coupled with PMOS coupling transistors. The second and third ones are the conventional LC VCO and the balanced Colpitts VCO followed by the frequency-divide-by-two, respectively. The simulation result demonstrate that Colpitts schemes show better phase noise performance by 6 dB than that of a conventional stheme in which LC VCO is followed by the frequency-divide-by-two.

  • This paper presents a framework to analyze the change in the research and development (R&D) efficiency of government-funded research institutes (GRIs) in Korea. Cumulative data envelopment analysis/Malmquist index method is utilized to analyze the changes in R&D efficiency of GRIs. Data analysis of the R&D activities of 10 GRIs in Korea Research Council of Fundamental Science & Technology showed that the average R&D efficiency of the 10 GRIs improved from 2009 to 2013. However, the efficiency of a few GRIs decreased in terms of the catch-up index. The proposed framework can help management teams diagnose the current state of R&D activities and determine the efficacy of strategic actions by comparing efficiencies in the past.
