Optimal Design of the Monolithic Flexure Mount for Optical Mirror Using Response Surface Method (반응표면법을 이용한 광학미러용 일체형 유연힌지 마운트 최적설계)

  • An optimal design of a simple beam-shaped flexure hinge mount supporting an optical mirror is presented. An optical mirror assembly is an opto-mechanically coupled system as the optical and mechanical behaviors interact. This side-supporting mount is flexible in the radial direction and rigid for the remaining degrees of freedom to support the mirror without transferring thermal load. Through thermo-elastic, optical and eigenvalue analysis, opto-mechanical performance was predicted to establish the objective functions for optimization. The key design parameters for this flexure are the thickness and length. To find the optimal values of design parameters, response surface analysis was performed using the design of experiment based on nested FCD. Optimal design candidates were derived from the response surface analysis, and the optimal design shape was confirmed through Opto-mechanical performance validation analysis.

Korean Lip-Reading: Data Construction and Sentence-Level Lip-Reading (한국어 립리딩: 데이터 구축 및 문장수준 립리딩)

  • Lip-reading is the task of inferring the speaker's utterance from silent video based on learning of lip movements. It is very challenging due to the inherent ambiguities present in the lip movement such as different characters that produce the same lip appearances. Recent advances in deep learning models such as Transformer and Temporal Convolutional Network have led to improve the performance of lip-reading. However, most previous works deal with English lip-reading which has limitations in directly applying to Korean lip-reading, and moreover, there is no a large scale Korean lip-reading dataset. In this paper, we introduce the first large-scale Korean lip-reading dataset with more than 120 k utterances collected from TV broadcasts containing news, documentary and drama. We also present a preprocessing method which uniformly extracts a facial region of interest and propose a transformer-based model based on grapheme unit for sentence-level Korean lip-reading. We demonstrate that our dataset and model are appropriate for Korean lip-reading through statistics of the dataset and experimental results.

Propagation Factor Based Elevation Estimation Algorithm Selection Method in Multipath Situation (다중경로 상황에서의 전파 인자 기반 고각 추정 알고리즘 선택기법)

  • This paper presents a method to overcome the problem of increasing elevation estimation error when estimating elevation in a multipath situation with radar. A multipath situation means that radar reception signals reflected from the same target come from multiple paths. In non-multipath, the monopulse method is accurate. For the opposite case, the least square error method is accurate. In multipath situation and when the elevation angle is very low, a singular occurs where the least square error estimate diverges. This singular was identified based on the propagation factor, and monopulse and least square error estimation methods were selectively used. As a result, we succeeded in increasing the accuracy of elevation estimation. MATLAB simulations were performed to verify the method proposed in this paper.

Implementation of Ternary Valued Adder and Multiplier Using Current Mode CMOS (전류모드 CMOS에 의한 3치 가산기 및 승산기의 구현)

  • In this paper, the circuit of 2 variable ternary adder and multiplier circuit using current mode CMOS are implemented. The presented ternary adder circuit and multiplier circuit using current mode CMOS are driven the voltage levels. We show the characteristics of operation for these circuits simulated by HSpice. These circuits are simulated under $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS standard technology, $5{\mu}A$ unit current in $0.54{\mu}m/0.18{\mu}m$ ratio of NMOS length and width, and $0.54{\mu}m/0.18{\mu}m$ ratio of PMOS length and width, and 2.5V VDD voltage, MOS model Level 47 using HSpice. The simulation results show the satisfying current characteristics. The simulation results of current mode ternary adder circuit and multiplier circuit show the propagation delay time $1.2{\mu}s$, operating speed 300KHz, and consumer power 1.08mW.

On Modeling the PBL Process and the ILS Development from a Life Cycle View with Resultant Enhanced Interrelationship (PBL 수행절차와 ILS 개발절차의 수명주기별 프로세스 모델링 및 상호 연계성의 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The demand on applying the performance-based logistics (PBL) in the operational phase of the weapon systems development is increasing these days. Therefore, the enhancement of the PBL concept and process needs to be done. This is the objective of the paper. As a method of approach, a modeling method is adopted to cover the whole life cycle of the weapon systems development from the concept development to the operation. The modeling results for the PBL process yield an useful suggestion for improvement. Also, by analyzing the interrelationship model between the PBL process and the integrated logistics support (ILS) procedure, it is possible to take advantage of the PBL concept in the ILS elements development, which is usually carried out from the beginning of the development phase, a lot earlier than the operational phase. Note that the PBL concept has been restrictively applied in only the supply support among many ILS elements up until now. However, the results obtained in the paper can make it also possible to consider the availability, reliability, logistics support, cost and so on from the early phase of the weapon systems development.

A study on the improvement of robust automatic initiated tracking on narrowband target (협대역표적 추적자동개시의 견실성 향상에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, the method is discussed such that the robustness of automatic initiated narrowband target tracking is improved in passive sonar. In the case of automatic tracking initiation as target in passive sonar, due to a number of clutter, the clutter is initiated as target and tracked which prohibits the operation capability. The associated probability and information entropy of measurements, extracted from detection data, is calculated to keep going on automatic target initiation and tracking of true target, but reduce the automatic initiation and tracking of clutter. If the association probability and information entropy of the extracted measurements is satisfied for the predefined conditions, the procedure of automatic initiation begins. Using sea-trial data, simulations are executed and the results from the proposed method indicate that it keeps the automatic target initiation and tracking of true target and suppresses the automatic target initiation and tracking of clutters in contrary to the conventional method.

Own-ship noise cancelling method for towed line array sonars using a beam-formed reference signal (기준 빔 신호를 이용한 예인선배열 소나의 자함 소음 제거 기법)

  • This paper proposes a noise cancelling algorithm to remove own-ship noise for a towed array sonar. Extra beamforming is performed using partial channels of the acoustic array to get a reference beam signal robust to the noise bearing. Frequency domain Adaptive Noise Cancelling (ANC) is applied based on Normalized Least Mean Square (NLMS) algorithm using the reference beam. The bearing of own-ship noise is estimated from the coherence between the reference beam and input beam signals. Own-ship noise level is calculated using a beampattern of the noise with estimated steering angle, which prevents loss of a target signal by determining whether to update a filter so that removed signal level does not exceed the estimated noise level. Simulation results show the proposed algorithm maintains its performance when the own-ship gets out off its bearing 40 % more than the conventional algorithm's limit and detects the target even when the frequency of the target signal is same with the frequency of the own-ship signal.

A Super-Wideband Dipole Antenna With a Self-Complementary Structure (자기상보 구조를 갖는 초광대역 다이폴 안테나)

  • In this paper, a SWB (Super-WideBand) dipole antenna with self-complementary structure is proposed for signal intelligence. The proposed antenna consists of a self-complementary dipole antenna and a tapered balun for balanced feeding. The measured -10 dB reflection bandwidth of the proposed antenna is more than 28:1 (0.73-20 GHz) and 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth is 3.25:1 (1.91-6.22 GHz) with RHCP (Right Hand Circular Polarization) at +z direction. The measured radiation patterns are omni-directional in lower frequency band and bi-directional in higher frequency band. The measured peak gain within -10 dB reflection bandwidth varies from 2.83 dBi to 7.66 dBi.

  • We present preliminary results from a series of observations toward G108.8-00.8, which is one of Planck Cold Clumps and a promising candidate of massive prestellar cores. In the integrated intensity map of SCUBA 850 micron dust continuum emission, highly fragmented structures appear. These are distributed along one long filamentary structure seen in the CO 1-0 and 13CO 1-0 integrated intensity maps obtained with the PMO 13.7 m telescope. The northern part of the filament is divided into two parts, as seen in the CO 2-1, 13CO 2-1, and C18O 2-1 integrated intensity maps obtained with the CSO 10 m telescope. The observations of HCO+ 1-0, N2H+ 1-0, and HCN 1-0 with the IRAM 30 m telescope focus on the northern part of the CSO maps, which show a head-tail structure. NH3 (1,1) also shows similar distribution with IRAM maps. The depletion factors, derived by the comparison between the dust continuum and C18O 2-1 emission, varies from 1.5 to 6 over the region, suggesting different evolutionary status of each component. To study the chemical and physical environments of G108.8-00.8, more detailed analysis is in progress.

Simulator Design and Performance Analysis of Link-K Based Relative Navigation System (한국형전술데이터링크(Link-K) 기반 상대항법 시스템의 시뮬레이터 설계 및 성능분석)

  • In this paper, an extend kalman filter based relative navigation algorithm is proposed for Link-K based relative navigation. Link-K is a tactical data link system for joint operation capability upgrade of ROK forces. Link-K is inter-operable with Link-16 and transmit and received information of operations and target. In Link-K communication channel, PPLI message including transmitter position and TOA measurement can be used for relative navigation. Therefore Link-K based relative navigation system can be operated. In this paper, software based simulations were carried out for operational feasibility test and performance verification as error factors of proposed Link-K based relative navigation system.
