  • This paper presents a neural network based self-tuning fuzzy PI-PD control scheme for robust speed control of induction motor. The PID controller is being widely used in industrial applications. When continuously used long time, the electric and mechanical parameters of induction motor change, degrading the performance of PID controller considerably. This paper re-analyzes the fuzzy controller as conventional PID controller structure, and proposes a neural network based self-tuning fuzzy PI-PD controller whose scaling factors are adjusted automatically. Proposed scheme is simple in structure and computational burden is small ...

  • The aim of this work is the analysis, design and hardware implementation of the fractional-order point kinetics (FNPK) model along with its closed-loop controller. The stability and closed-loop control of FNPK models are critical issues. The closed-loop stability of the controller-plant structure is established. Further, the designed PI/PD controllers are implemented in real-time on a DSP processor. The simulation and real-time hardware studies confirm that the designed PI/PD controllers result in a damped stable closed-loop response.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop the straightforward design guidelines of PD/PID speed controller for Industry servo drives with plug and play concept. The controller gains are uniquely determined from the current control loop dynamics, speed loop delay, and mechanical parameters. In order to eliminate the mechanical friction uncertainties, an automatic PD/PI control mode switching algorithm Is introduced using online spectrum analysis of motor torque command. The dynamic performance of the proposed scheme assures a fast tracking response curve with minimal oscillation and settling time over the whole operating conditions. For comprehensive comparison of conventional PI control scheme, extensive test is carried out on actual servo system.

  • In this paper the steady-state genetic algorithm is applied for the optimal design of fuzzy PID controllers. Basically the structure of the discussed fuzzy PID controller is extended from the conventional fuzzy PI and PD controllers where only a two-dimensional rule base of the fuzzy PID controller are designed simultaneously. Simulations results shows the superior performance of this optimal designed fuzzy PID controllers to the optimal designed conventional fuzzy PI and PD controllers.

  • Several new $[Pd(L)X_2]$ complexes have been prepared with aminophosphines (L) such as trans-1,2-bis[diphenylphosphino)amino]cyclohexane and 1,2-bis[(diphenylphosphino) amino] propane that contain phosphorus atom as ${\pi}$-electron acceptor, and the bond character of complexes have been investigated by means of infrared and electronic spectroscopy. It was found that thiocyanate ions are N-coordinated possibly due to the steric and electronic influence of the phosphorus atom in aminophosphines that formed seven-membered chelate rings, and that spectrochemical series that is derived from the electronic spectra of the complexes is $NCS^- > Cl^- > Br^- > I^-$

  • New Palladium(0)-olefin complexes, $(PMe_3)_2Pd{CH_2=C(CH_3)COOH} \;and\;(PMe_3)_2Pd{(CH_3)CH=CHCOOH}$ have been prepared by treating $Pd(PMe_3)_2$(styrene) with methacrylic acid and trans-crotonic acid, respectively. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and $^1H-,\;^{13}C-,\;and\;^{31}P$-NMR spectroscopy. The carboxylic acid entity was found non-bonded with palladium while ${\pi}$-bond is formed between the olefin double bond and Pd(0). The results are compared with the metallacycle formation the reaction of Pd(PMe3)2(styrene) with 3-butenoic acid.

  • Developmental changes in the vocal signals of serotine bats (Eptesicus serotinus) during their infancy were examined in this study. The analysis was conducted on 4 infant serotine bats from 1 to 40 days after their birth. Pulse duration (PD), pulse interval (PI), peak frequency (PF), maximum frequency ($F_{MAX}$), minimum frequency ($F_{MIN}$), and bandwidth (BW) were measured. As the bats grew, their vocalizations became increasingly consistent and similar to those of adults. For infant bats, PD and PI decreased as they grew older, whereas PF, $F_{MAX}$, $F_{MIN}$, and BW increased. The greatest change in vocalizations was observed between the $10^{th}$ and $20^{th}$ days after birth. Also, PF, $F_{MAX}$, $F_{MIN}$ and BW, which describe sound frequency, increased dramatically during the period between the $10^{th}$ and the $20^{th}$ days. In contrast, the greatest change in PD occurred between the $30^{th}$ and $40^{th}$ days after birth. The results collected in this study suggest that frequency increased as the contraction ability of the muscles developed by around 20 days of age. Muscle relaxation ability, which is related to PD, was found to develop significantly at 30 to 40 days of age. According to the results of this study, although 40 day-old infant bats are not yet able to fly, their vocal signals were similar to those of adults. This indicates that vocal development and flying activity develop separately in young bats.

  • Fuzzy controller's design depends mainly on the rule base and membership functions over the controller's input and output ranges. This paper presents two different approaches to deal with these design issues. A simple and efficient approach; namely, Fuzzy Subtractive Clustering is used to identify the rule base needed to realize Fuzzy PI and PD type controllers. This technique provides a mechanism to obtain the reduced rule set covering the whole input/output space as well as membership functions for each input variable. But it is found that some membership functions projected from different clusters have high degree of similarity. The number of membership functions of each input variable is then reduced using a similarity measure. In this paper, the fuzzy subtractive clustering approach is shown to reduce 49 rules to 8 rules and number of membership functions to 4 and 6 for input variables (error and change in error) maintaining almost the same level of performance. Simulation on a wide range of linear and nonlinear processes is carried out and results are compared with fuzzy PI and PD type controllers without clustering in terms of several performance measures such as peak overshoot, settling time, rise time, integral absolute error (IAE) and integral-of-time multiplied absolute error (ITAE) and in each case the proposed schemes shows an identical performance.

  • In this thesis discuss with a flexible robotic finger design and controller which is used for the micro flexible robotic finger. So, miniaturization, precision, controller for the control of grasping force and actuator were needed. And, even if we develop a new actuator and controller, in order to use on real system, we must considerate of a many side problem. In a force control of micro flexible finger for grasping an object, the fingertip's vibration was more important task of accuracy control. And, controller were adopt the PD/PI mixed type fuzzy controller. The controller were consist of two part, one is a PD type fuzzy controller for increase the rising time response, the other is a PI type fuzzy controller for decrease of steady-state error. Especially, in a PD type fuzzy controller, we used only seven rules. And, for a PI controller, we adopt a reset factor for the control of input values. so, we have overcome the exceed of controller's input range. For the estimate of ontroller's utility and usefulness, we have experiment and computer simulation of three cases. First, we consider of unit force grasping control for a task object, which is 0.03N. Second, bounding grasping force control which is add to a sinusoidal force on the unit force. At this cases the task force is (0.03+0.01 sin wt N). And consider of following of rectangular forces.

  • Programmed Death-1 (PD-1) is one of the important immune-inhibitory molecules which was expressed in T cells, B cells, NKT cells, and macrophages activated by various immune activating factors. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), the major component of the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria, is one of the crucial immunogens for PD-1 expression. However, there are only a few reports on the expression mechanisms of PD-1 in innate immune cells. In this study, we investigate the expression mechanisms of PD-1 in LPS-stimulated Raw264.7 cell lines by RT-PCR, Western Blot, flow cytometry as well as ChIP assay and co-immunoprecipitation. When Raw264.7 cells were stimulated with LPS, PD-1 expression was greatly up-regulated via PI3K and p38 signaling. Primary macrophages isolated from LPS-injected mice were also shown the increased expression of PD-1. In promoter assay, NF-${\kappa}B$ and IRF-1 binding regions in mouse PD-1 promoter are important for PD-1 expression. We also found that the co-activation of NF-${\kappa}B$ and IRF-1 is indispensable for the maximum PD-1 expression. These results indicate that the modulation of PD-1 expressed in innate immune cells could be a crucial for the disease therapy such as LPS-induced mouse sepsis model.
