Petal of Azalea(Rhododendron mucronulatum Turcz) was incubated with Gokja at 3$0^{\circ}C$ for seven days and the essential oil components of petal of Azalea before and after incubated were analyzed using a GC/MSD. Ten or more essential oil components including n-heneicosane n-tricosane n-tetreacosane n-pentacosane n-heptacosane n-nonacosane and n-hentriacontane were identified from the petal of Azal-ea before incubated while oxygen-containng compounds including (E)-heptenal 2-ethoxy-1 -hexanol n-hexadecanoic acid methyl ester 9, 12-octadecadienoic acid methyl ester 9,12,15-octadecatrienoic acid methyl ester, n-octadecanoic acid methyl ester n-eicosanoic acid methyl ester and 9-docosaenoic acid methyl ester as well as n-alkanes such as n-tricosane that n-pentacosane were identified from the petal of Azalea after incubated. These results suggest that n-alkanes in petal of Azalea might be degraded and some oxygen-containing compounds such as aldehyde, esters and /or acids might be produced when pet-al of Azalea is incubated with Gokja.
In this experiment, alcohol and blanching treatments were used for food packaging materials, quality of powder yam and sliced yams (5 mm size) were compared by alcohol concentration and time for measuring change of color, weight, moisture content saccharinity and decomposition. 5% and 10% alcohol were used to alcohol treatment for 5, 10 seconds each. Packaging materials were used OPP($30{\mu}m$), PET($25{\mu}m$), ON($25{\mu}m$) and all materials heat sealable were coated. Quality of powder yam were not changed during storage at low temperature however were changed during storage at room temperature after 5 days. In conclusion, powder yam were needed packaging materials with high water barrier property from moisture, sliced yams were high quality when packaged by ON and stored at low temperature. Therefore, using packaging materials with low oxygen permeability were expected to reduced quality degradation about browning of powder yam and sliced yams.
We investigated the microstructure, electrical and optical characteristics of ZnO, AZO and ITO films using aerosol deposition process. As gas consumption increased, the electrical and optical characteristics of ZnO, AZO and ITO films were improved, and electrical and optical characteristics of ZnO, AZO and ITO films with a thickness of 400 nm were successfully fabricated on PET substrates at room temperature. The mechanical flexibility durability test shows that the ZnO films can withstand 5,000 cycles and AZO and ITO films occurs to crack in films with degradation of resistance and transmittance. Even though the AZO and ITO films shows slightly lower durability than the ZnO films, this is expected to improve performance of films through optimized processing condition and particle size control.
Purpose: In the PET/CT images, various artifacts cause degradation of the quantitative assessment. Most hotspot generated by radiopharmaceutical injection errors cause an artifact and degrade the quality of the images as well as the accuracy of the quantitative evaluation. The purpose of this study is to assess effectiveness of the elimination of the hotspot at the injection sites using shifting the center of DFOV (Display Field of View, DFOV) method and evaluate the quantitative evaluation of result. Materials and Methods: GE Discovery STE 16 (GE Healthcare, Milwaukee, USA) and 1994 NEMA phantom were used for imaging acquisition. Phantom was filled with 0.005 MBq/mL of $^{18}F-FDG$. A hotspot was artificially placed on the outside of the phantom. The ratio of hotspot area activity to background area activity was regulated as 200:1. After image acquisition with routine protocol, all of the images were reconstructed using the shifting the center of DFOV method that wasn't overlapped with hotspot. Those images obtained before and after applying the shifting reconstruction method were compared. ROIs (Region Of Interests) were set in the hotspot areas, meanSUVs and standard deviations were calculated. Percentage differences were calculated with those meanSUVs and standard deviations. The evaluation on the effects of the shifting reconstruction method was done by comparison of the meanSUVs and the standard deviations, which were calculated for background areas unaffected by hotspot. Results: In the areas of unaffected by hotspot, meanSUVs before and after applying the shifting of center of DFOV method were $0.67{\pm}0.06g/mL$ and $0.65{\pm}0.06g/mL$, respectively. In the artifact areas affected by hotspot, meanSUVs before and after applying the shifting of center of DFOV method were $0.32{\pm}0.08g/mL$ and $0.56{\pm}0.12g/mL$, respectively. The percentage differences of the area adjacent to the hotspot and the area distant from the hotspot were 65.3% and 97.4%, respectively. Conclusion: In the PET/CT images, meanSUV was improved by 32.1% when the effect of artifact was removed with application of the shifting the center of DFOV methode. In other areas unaffected by artifacts, meanSUVs were not significantly different after applying DFOV center shift method. As shown in the result, adverse effects of hotspot made by swelling in the injection site can be reduced by applying DFOV center shift method. Therefore, DFOV center shift method can be applied for the more precise quantitative evaluation, and contribute to the increase of the diagnostic value of the images.
Blends of poly (acrylic acid-co-maleic acid)(PAM) with poly (vinyl alcohol)(PVA) were obtained by solution blending. The blends were solvent-on to a film to examine thermo-mechanical properties and gas permeability. The transition temperatures $(T_g\;and\;T_m)$ of the blends remained constant regardless of PAM contents. However, the values of enthalpy changes corresponding to melting transition $({\Delta}H_m)$ and initial degradation temperature $({T_D}^i)$ were decreased with increasing PAM content. The values of ultimate strength and initial modulus gave the maximum value at the 12 wt% PAM then decreased with further increase of PAM content up to 15 wt%. To measure the gas permeability of the PVA/PAM blend films, the PVA blend solutions were coated onto both biaxially oriented propylene (BOPP) and poly (ethylene terephthalate)(PET) films. The oxygen transmission rate $(O_2\;TR)$ permeability values mono- tonically decreased with increasing PAM content. However, moisture vapor transmission rate was not affected by PAM content.
In preclinical positron emisson tomography(PET), spatial resolution degradation occurs outside the field of view(FOV). To solve this problem, a depth of interaction(DOI) detector was developed that measures the position where gamma rays and the scintillator interact. There are a method in which a scintillation pixel array is composed of multiple layers, a method in which photosensors are arranged at both ends of a single layer, a method in which a scintillation pixel array is constituted in several layers and a photosensor is arranged in each layer. In this study, a new type of DOI detector was designed by analyzing the characteristics of the previously developed detectors. In the two-layer detector, different sizes of scintillation pixels were used for each layer, and the array size was configured differently. When configured in this form, the positions of the scintillation pixels for each layer are arranged to be shifted from each other, so that they are imaged at different positions in a flood image. DETECT2000 simulation was performed to confirm the possibility of measuring the depth of interaction of the designed detector. A flood image was reconstructed from a light signal acquired by a gamma-ray event generated at the center of each scintillation pixel. As a result, it was confirmed that all scintillation pixels for each layer were separated from the reconstructed flood image and imaged to measure the interaction depth. When this detector is applied to preclinical PET, it is considered that excellent images can be obtained by improving spatial resolution.
Purpose: Several radioisotope-labeled thymidine derivatives such as $[^{11}C]$thymidine was developed to demonstrate cell proliferation in tumor. But it is difficult to track metabolism with $[^{11}C]$thymidine due to rapid in vivo degradation and its short physical half-life. 3'-$[^{18}F]$fluoro-3'-deoxythymidine ($[^{18}F]$FLT) was reported to have the longer half life of fluorine-18 and the lack of metabolic degradation in vivo. Here, we described the synthesis of the 3'-$[^{18}F]$fluoro-3'-deoxythymidine ($[^{18}F]$FLT) and compared with $([^{18}F]FET)\;and\;([^{18}F]FDG)$ in cultured 9L cell and obtained the biodistribution and PET image in 9L tumor hearing rats. Material and Methods: For the synthesis of $[^{18}F]$FLT, 3-N-tert-butoxycarbonyl-(5'-O-(4,4'-dimet hoxytriphenylmethyl)-2'-deoxy-3'-O-(4-nitrobenzenesulfonyl)-${\beta}$-D-threopentofuranosyl)thymine was used as a FLT precursor, on which the tert-butyloxycarbonyl group was introduced to protect N3-position and nitrobenzenesulfonyl group. Radiolabeling of nosyl substitued precursor with $^{18}F$ was performed in acetonitrile at $120^{\circ}C$ and deproteced with 0.5 N HCI. The cell uptake was measured in cultured 9L glioma cell. The biodistribution was evaluated in 9L tumor bearing rats after intravenous injection at 10 min, 30 min, 60 min and 120 min and obtained PET image 60 minutes after injection. Results: The radiochemical yield was about 20-30% and radiochemical purity was more than 95% after HPLC purification. Cellular uptake of $[^{18}F]$FLT was increased as time elapsed. At 120 min post-injection, the ratios of tumor/blood, tumor/muscle and tumor/brain were $1.61{\pm}0.34,\;1.70{\pm}0.30\;and\;9.33{\pm}2.22$, respectively. The 9L tumor was well visualized at 60 min post injection in PET image. Conclusion: The uptake of $[^{18}F]$FLT in tumor was higher than in normal brain and PET image of $[^{18}F]$FLT was acceptable. These results suggest the possibility of $[^{18}F]$FLT at an imaging agent for brain tumor.
Molecular dynamics simulation and the Mori-Tanaka micromechanics study are performed to investigate the effect of the covalent grafting between CNT and polyester on the mechanical behavior and load transfer of nanocomposites. The transversely isotropic stress-strain curves are determined through the tension and shear simulations according to the covalent grafting. Also, isotropic properties of randomly dispersed nanocomposites are obtained by orientation averaging the transversely isotropic stiffness matrix. By addressing the grafting, the transverse Young's modulus and shear moduli of the nanocomposites are improved, while the longitudinal Young's modulus decreases due to the degradation of the grafted CNT.

Amorphous IZO films were deposited on PET substrate by DC magnetron sputtering without substrate heating. In order to investigate effect of reactive gas addition on film properties, 0.2-0.4% of $H_2$ or $O_2$ gas was introduced during the deposition. Deposited IZO films were evaluated with mechanical property, electrical property, and water permeability. In the case of $H_2$ gas addition, mechanical property showed clear degradation compared to $O_2$ gas. In the case of $O_2$ gas, water permeability of the IZO film was increased compared to $H_2$ gas which could be attributed to the low adhesion of the film caused by bombardment of high energy negative oxygen ion. As a result, it is confirmed that water permeability of the film could be strongly affected by adhesion of the film.

In this paper, we propose a RFID tag antenna with low performance degradation due to nearby dielectric materials. The proposed antenna is designed to be appropriate for ink printing fabrication. The antenna is designed to operate in UHF band of $860{\sim}960$ MHz. The antenna uses a T-matching network in the middle of the main body and two parasitic patches in vicinity for complex conjugate matching with a commercial tag chip. In addition, the two parasitic patches induce currents at different dielectric constants of nearby dielectric materials. This can minimize the performance degradation due to nearby dielectric materials. The measured results show the half power matching bandwidth from 844 MHT to 1,268 MHz. It exhibits the reading distance of about 3.5 m in free space when the tag antenna is used with the commercial reader antenna (transmitting power of 20 dBm and the reader antenna gain of 6 dBi). When the tag is attached on dielectric materials of wood and FR4, the resulting reading distances are 2.61 m and 2.51 m, respectively.
