  • In this paper, we implemented the monitoring and control of geothermal heating and cooling system using mobile devices. The main idea of this system is to provide the convenience if the system can be controled in remote place with monitoring using the mobile devices like PDA. Basically, the system consists of the Server-Client structure divided into two parts, one is PDA and PC, the other is PC and PLC(Programmable Logic Controller). The PDA, which is equipped with Windows CE as as, monitors the status of the devices (motors and sensors, etc) attached to PLC and controls them. This does the system to be controled by the commands, which we assume to control, with wireless transmission between PC and PLC. The PDA parts are responsible for monitoring and control the devices connected to the PLC, and the PC part which equipped with the application is to provide the relation between PDA and PLC.   • This paper describes a design and implementation of diabetes management system based on PDA in the wireless Internet. Our system is a 3-Tier Client/Server model with client, server, middleware, and DB. The client has each PDA for patients and for doctors related to diabetics. The one is used for patients to manage this disease by themselves with, and the other is used for the doctors to monitoring the patients' data with. The server receive the daily data measured by the patients through wireless network, middleware mediate between an client(PDA) and server. As the result of implementation of the system, we expected that it manages to diabetic patients continually and systematically.

  • This paper suggests a PDA-based scientific traffic accident investigation system in order to improve the reliability and accuracy of a traffic accident investigation procedure. In order to fulfill this objective, a standard accident sheet with 32 elements to be used in the PDA system was developed through a reference review and an expert survey. Using this information, the required functionalities and realization procedure of the PDA system for traffic accident investigation were presented including mobile network environment and GPS/GIS design. A prototype of PDA system is presented and more improved and efficientmanagement is highly expected by applying the system developed in this paper.

  • The developed system is captured by RS-232 telecommunication receiving data (temperature and humidity of each incubator) through radio frequency sensor network system and is made by monitoring system for one person collecting each channel data. This monitoring system is capable of monitoring not only PDA through TCP/IP telecommunication but also personal computer. This system is actively application on telecommunication function of LabVIEW and PDA module and is considerably saved in processing time than using in other tools.

  • Recently, a lot of researches about mobile vision using Personal Digital Assistant(PDA) has been attempted. Many CPUs for PDA are integer CPUs, which have no floating-computation component. It results in slow computation of the algorithms peformed by vision system or image processing, which have much floating-computation. In this paper, in order to resolve this weakness, we propose the Client(PDA)/server(PC) architecture which is connected to each other with a wireless LAN, and we construct the system with pipelining processing using two CPUs of the Client(PDA) and the Server(PC) in image sequence. The Client(PDA) extracts tentative text regions using Edge Density(ED). The Server(PC) uses both the Multi-1.aver Perceptron(MLP)-based texture classifier and Connected Component(CC)-based filtering for a definite text extraction based on the Client(PDA)'s tentativel99-y extracted results. The proposed method leads to not only efficient text extraction by using both the MLP and the CC, but also fast running time using Client(PDA)/server(PC) architecture with the pipelining processing.

  • Instead of existing cell phones, PDAs are observed as leading wireless Internet devices recently Numerous applications are developed by extended usage of PDAs and it should be installed appropriately according to devices. Furthermore, when battery is discharged, all data stored in RAM(Random Access Memory) becomes obsolete. So it should be recovered or reinstalled from flash memory, backup media or something. In this paper, we present an automatic application installation system(PAIS : PDA Automatic Installation System) to solve problems that users have to install applications by themselves whenever it is necessary. With this system, users feel comfortable by saving time and effort to install each applications and application development companies save cost needed to make materials illustrating installation process. Consequently PAIS may flourish wireless Internet business.

  • This study is to develop PDA_based surveying mapping system. This object is achieved by developing wireless communication module of PDA which is adaptable to Total Station and GPS. and contents for its usage. This system will be efficiently used to surveying parts of spatial location information for real time mapping and improving the modification of survey data.

  • This thesis proposed a method that connecting step motor to image send board which can acquire image to move and remote controlling via streaming image board of PDA(personal digital assistant) based on embedded Linux which is using wireless network There are three embedded Linux system to embody movable image send board. First, though the wireless network a signal of PDA is transmitted to the board which has embedded Linux and a system which is controlled by the expansion I/O port of the board. Second, it's a system streaming realtime image at a PDA which has embedded Linux. The last is a system which controls a process of image board using TCP/IP communication and image send board at PC. These are the system which can use industrial settings and homes. It can also make use of an embodiment method about travelling image robot.

  • In this research, we tried to implement a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant)-based hearing aids fitting system to manipulate hearing aids-fitting parameters in the user's local environment. Due to the inherent portability of PDA system, we can consequently perform the hearing aids fitting operation without visiting a special site.

  • 본 논문에서는 PDA 용 임베디드 리눅스 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다. 개발을 위한 Host PC 를 구축하고 PDA 시스템에 적합한 크로스 컴파일러(Cross compiler), PDA 와의 터미널을 위한 미니컴(minicom)등을 이용한 개발 환경을 구성한다. 본 논문에서 PDA 시스템에 리눅스를 포팅 하여 PDA 임베디드 리눅스 시스템으로 설계 및 구현한다.
