핸드폰이나 PDA(Personal Digital Assistants) 등 휴대용 단말기의 보급이 급속히 늘어나면서 이를 통한 모바일 콘텐츠 수요가 폭발적으로 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 비전문적인 개발자가 사용자 인터페이스를 편리하게 디자인 할 수 있는 환경을 구축하는 것이 중요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 적은 용량으로 고품질의 그래픽을 구현할 수 있는 2D 벡터그래픽 표준인 SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics)를 사용하여 홈 네트워킹을 제어하는 모바일 기기(PDA)의 사용자 인터페이스를 디자인하는 방법에 대하여 고찰한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법의 특징은 선호인터페이스(Preference Interface) 설정, 하향식(Top-Down) 방식 화면구성, 그리고 동적 SVG 이미지 활용 등이다.

최근 들어 핸드폰이나 PDA 등 휴대용 단말기의 보급이 급격히 늘면서 이를 통한 미디어 감상의 수요는 많이 증가하였다. 또한, 멀티미디어 기술의 발전 방향도 기존의 단방향 서비스를 벗어나 사용자의 기호에 따라 스토리를 전개해나가는 인터렉티브 미디어에 이르렀다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 본 연구팀이 기존에 진행했던 연구에 이어서 이러한 인터렉티브 미디어를 지원하기 위한 전체 시스템을 설계하였고 이를 PDA 상에 구현하였다. 이 때 비디오 코덱으로는 JVT(H.264)를 사용하였으며 컨텐츠 제작을 위한 마크업 언어는 자체 정의한 IML(Interactive Media Language)를 사용하였다. 또한, 본 논문에서는 이러한 구현 과정에서 이동 단말기 들이 공통적으로 가지는 취약점인 CPU, 메모리 등의 한계를 극복하기 위한 방안도 살펴보았다.

By development of the superhigh speed network and the Networked appliance, a home network environment was equipped quickly around the cyber apartment. The home network environment provides the abundant family life style which numerous appliance and tools are connected with the network. Recently it is caused by with appearance of the Networked appliance which is connected with the network, the service demand is augmented to hacking, wrong operation, breakdown, crime prevention in home automation, fire, and break-in. This paper planned and proposed the integrated crisis management service model in the environment of home network and Networked appliance. Namely, it classifies the Networked appliance crisis management service and it defines a crisis management message with the XML. The message where the crisis situation occurs is notified and controlled in wireless PDA or the hand phone or the specific authorization.

Recently, there has been much research to develope and apply RFID technology, which has a kcy role in the upcoming ubiquitous society, in many fields such as physical distribution, traffic control, medical service, and so on. However, there has been little research on a ubiquitous education or learning including 'u-Campuses' and 'u-Libraries'. Based on the characteristics of RFlD, this paper proposes a system for English learning required in globalization age. RFID tags and sensors utilize wireless communications to track the location and status information of the user to deliver English situated learning services. The current RFID-based system should use quite a different rniddleware, compared with a general-purpose middleware on server or desktop. The RFID system is used on a mobile PDA and consists of essential APIs such as reader and tag control, queue, and filter management.

As today's home-network market grows related researches had been increased and with different interfaces of these products of course there is lack of compatibility between these systems. So we need some extensionable managing system which integrates and manages these systems. In this paper, we designed framework that integrates and manages network system and also implemented Home Gateway using JMX on Sensor-network environment. It may manage each target with modulization and through the connection interface we make allowance compatibility and extensionability between existing systems. Through this researches, we implemented the Home-network integrated managing system which can manage and monitor with PDA or RDP(remote desktop PC).

An ubiquitous healthcare monitoring system for elderly person at home was designed for continuous healthy monitoring of elderly person or patients. Human vital signals, such as ECG and body temperature, were monitored by terminal PC or PDA via ECG and temperature sensor nodes on the patient's body. From the ECG data, the heart rate, tachycardia, bradycardia and arrhythmia were diagnosed on the terminal PC or PDA to assist doctor's or nurse's aid or patient itself to monitor the patient's condition and give medical examination. Artificial judgement support system was designed in server computer and the system support a doctor or nurser for management or treatment of the patient. This system can be applied to vital signal monitoring system for solitude elderly person at self house or home health care service part. And this ubiquitous healthcare system can reduce the medical expenses in coming aging or aged society.

Bearing information of target is used critically for target tracking in underwater environment. In passive sonar, target bearing measurements are obtained by processing the acoustic signal emanating from the target. PDA tracking algorithm is usually applied in this case since bearing measurements have several peaks due to interference with other acoustic sources or reflections from underwater media. In this paper, we propose a modified PDA algorithm adopting new probabilistic distributions of the number, position, and amplitude of peaks based on the analysis of real data. This algorithm is tested on real and artificially generated data. The computer simulation result shows improvement of the tracking performance.

현재 세계적인 이동통신 업체들은 대부분 XHTML Basic 을 수용하여 새로운 브라우저들은 WAP 프로토콜을 배제하고 TCP/IP 기반의 통신을 지원하는 경향을 나타내고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기술 추세를 반영하여 WAP 2.0 을 지원하는 PalmOS 용 XHTML 브라우저를 개발하였다. 본 브라우저의 특성은 이식성을 높이면서 휴대용 단말기의 자원 제약을 극복하기 위하여 이미지 변환 프락시를 활용하는 방식을 채택한 점이다.

We have designed a portable electronic nose(e-nose) system using an array of commercial gas sensors for recognition and analyzing the various odours. In this paper, we have implemented a portable e-nose system using an array gas sensors and personal digital assistants(PDA) for recognizing and analyzing volatile organic compounds(VOCs) in the field. Field screening for pollutants has been a target of instrumental development for number of year. A portable e-nose system can be substantial benefit to rapidly localize the spacial extent of a pollution or to find pollutants source. And, by using PDA, E-nose have a better function such as the easy user-interface and data transfer by internet from on- site to remote computer. We adapted the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm based on the back-propagation and proposed the method that could be predicted concentration levels of VOCs gases after classification by separating neural network into two parts.

This paper describes a new progressive embedded Internet Protocol(IP) camera available for real-time image transmission. It was applied for ship safety and security on seashore area. The functions of developed embedded system was more effective and excellent than conventional systems. Nowadays, each nation has established harbor security systems to jump up their ports to international port. Recently Incheon port has tried to change man security into center security system used by image security system. The security system of Incheon port has some advantages like effectivity of security system and reduction of manpower and cost, installed by image security system with CCTV cameras at the entrance gate and around the fence. Thus in this paper, we have designed and implemented a Personal Digital Assistants(PDA) based Image Surveillance System for Harbor Security using IP Camera under ubiquitous environment. This system has big advantages which are more effective in an emergency and low cost and small manpower than conventional systems.
