A Simulation & Audio/Video Input Control Device for Co-work Environment (공동작업환경을 위한 시물레이션과 오디오/비디오 입력 제어장치 구현)

  • In this paper, the proposed audio/video control device for multiple user in the multimedia platform is changed for the better a disadvantage that must get one computer per participant to process a floor mode needed for interactive collaboration in the multimedia based distance education. It also proposed simulator of co-work environment that included multimedia data. This developed to proceed a multimedia distance education efficiently and sharing a computer among multiple users. Therefore, this is resulting in a reduction the cost needed to build a multimedia distance education system as well as totally simplified the organization of system. It also offers compatibility and generality, interfacing with the printer port of standard PC supporting the bi-direction mode.

The Implement of a high Speed Machining Software by Look-ahead Algorithm (선독 알고리즘에 의한 고속 가공 소프트웨어 구현)

  • This paper describes a look-ahead algorithm of PCNC(personal computer numerical control). The algorithm is based on acceleration/deceleration before interpolation never including a command error and determines a velocity value in end point of each block(or start point of each block). The algorithm is represented as following; 1) calculating two maximum arrival velocity(v1, v2) by a acceleration value, a command velocity and distance in a previous block and a next block, 2) getting a tangent velocity(v3) of the adjacent blocks, 3) choosing a minimum value among these three velocities, and 4) setting the value to a velocity of a start point of the next block(or a end point of the previous block). The proposed look-ahead algorithm was implemented and tested by using a commercial RTOS(real time operation system) on the MS-Windows NT 4.0 in a PC platform. For interfacing to a machine, a counter board, a DAC board and a DIO board were used. The result of the algorithm increased a machining precision and a machining speed in many short blocks.

  • This paper introduces the Interactive Power Electronics Seminar - iPES - a new software package for teaching of fundamentals of power electronic circuits and systems. iPES is constituted by HTML text with Java applets for interactive animation, circuit design and simulation and visualization of electromagnetic fields and thermal issues in power electronics. It does comprise an easy-to-use self-explaining graphical user interface. The software does need just a standard web-browser, i.e. no installations are required. iPES can be accessed via the World Wide Web or from a CD-ROM in a stand-alone PC by students and professionals. Due to the underlying software technology iPES is very flexible and could be used for on-line learning and could easily be integrated into an e-learning platform. The aim of this paper Is to give an introduction to the iPES-project and to show the different areas covered. The e- learning software is available at no costs at $\underline{www.ipes.ethz.ch}$ in English, German, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Spanish. The project is still under development and the web page is updated in about 4 weeks intervals.

  • LBS (Location Based Services)란 휴대폰, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), 노트북 PC 등 위치 추적이 가능한 단말기를 휴대한 사용자의 현재 및 과거 위치 정보를 활용한 유무선 인터넷 서비스를 말한다. 최근의 이동 통신 기술의 발달과 휴대폰, PDA 등과 같은 모바일 단말의 급속한 확산으로 인하여 LBS 는 유무선 인터넷의 응용 및 위치 정보를 사용한 부가 가치 창출에 있어 핵심적인 역할을 할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이러한 LBS 를 위해서는 단말의 위치 정보들을 저장 및 관리하고 위치 정보를 이용하여 다양한 위치 기반 서비스를 지원하는 LBS 플랫폼의 역할이 매우 중요하다. 이를 위한 LBS 플랫폼은 위치 정보의 획득. 위치 정보의 저장 및 관리, 인증 및 정보 보호 등의 사용자 관리, 대용량 위치 정보 데이터베이스의 관리 등의 기능을 제공하여야 한다. 본 논문에서는 1) 위치 기반 서비스를 위한 LBS 플랫폼으로써 사용될 수 있는 참조 시스템을 설계한다. 이를 위하여 LBS 플랫폼으로써 참조 시스템이 제공하여야 하는 기능과 각 기능의 처리 흐름을 UML 의 유스케이스(Usecase)를 사용하여 분석 및 설명한다. 또한 2) 설계된 참조 시스템을 사용하여 제공될 수 있는 서비스 시나리오를 알아본다.

  • PC와 스마트 디바이스가 보급화 되면서 현대인들은 온라인 활동이 많아지고 있다. 온라인상의 커뮤니티는 '육아여성'들이 사회적 고립을 벗어날 수 있는 새로운 기회이다. 삶의 질 증진을 위한 온라인 커뮤니티를 제공하고, 인터넷 속 카페로만 구성되어 있는 육아여성만의 공간을 앱 기반으로 확장시켜 위치기반서비스를 통해 실시간 소통과 가까운 주변 육아여성의 커뮤니티를 형성해 사용자들에게 편리함을 제공을 목표로 한다. 더하여 육아여성의 지역 경제 참여를 유도하여 소상공인에 도움을 주고 지역경제를 활성화한다.

  • RC(Remote Control) is a technology that can efficiently control and transfer a variety of user commands to CEs. However, the existing RCs have been required various additional features such as communication between CEs, extension of communication range, low power-consumption and bi-directional communication according to the advent of new types of CE devices and its enhanced performance. Even though RC controller has many customers' requests, it is not a simple solution because most legacies work on IR-based RC. In this paper, we propose RF4CE-based Universal Remote Control Framework using Smartphone in order to solve the many constraints of IR legacies. The proposed R-URC system is designed by RF4CE platform which is a kind of de-facto standard for CE remote control communication. From the verification scenarios using various CEs and smart phone, we can see that the proposed R-URC shows the good practical usage in terms of contents sharing and smart CE control.

  • This research proposes the U-drawing information system (U-DIS) based on risk assessment. One of the most outstanding features of U-DIS is to perform the Quantitative Risk Assessment directly on the screen utilizing the Process Information. U-DIS revolutionizes the existing way to do a risk assessment and helps finding information more efficiently and simply. It is designed to open all CAD drawing files on the web-based environment without having the CAD S/W installed on the PC. The U terminal platform in U-DIS supports IPv6 and wireless broadband network and U-DIS can be accessible through a sensor or personal authorization. This results in providing a systematic safety enhancement tool considering not only the operation of the process but also its risk level in the equipment industry. Additionally to aid the decision making process it offers comprehensive and thorough information based on engineering technical theory.

  • Recently, the research of GPS receiver which uses the Software-Defined Radio(SDR) technique is being actively proceeded instead of traditional hardware-based receiver. The software-based GPS receiver indicates that the signal acquisition and tracking treated by the hardware-based platform are processed as the software technique through a microprocessor. In this paper, GPS software receiver is designed by using SDR technique and then the signal acquisition, tracking, and the navigation message decoding parts are verified through the PC-based simulation. Moreover, the efficient algorithms are developed about the signal acquisition and tracking parts in order to obtain the accurate pseudorange. Finally, the pseudorange is calculated through the relative channel delay received through the different satellite of L1 frequency band. GPS software receiver proposed in this paper will be included in the element of GPS/Galileo complex system of development target and will provide not only the method that verifies the performance for Galileo Sensor Station standard but also usability by providing various debugging environments.

  • To help network intrusion detection systems(NIDSs) keep up with the demands of today's networks, that we the increasing network throughput and amount of attacks, a radical new approach in hardware and software system architecture is required. In this paper, we propose a Network Processor(NP) based In-Line mode NIDS that supports the packet payload inspection detecting the malicious behaviors, as well as the packet filtering and the traffic metering. In particular, we separate the filtering and metering functions from the deep packet inspection function using two-level searching scheme, thus the complicated and time-consuming operation of the deep packet inspection function does not hinder or flop the basic operations of the In-line mode system. From a proto-type NP-based NIDS implemented at a PC platform with an x86 processor running Linux, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and 2.5Gbps Agere PayloadPlus(APP) NP solution, the experiment results show that our proposed scheme can reliably filter and meter the full traffic of two gigabit ports at the first level even though it can inspect the packet payload up to 320 Mbps in real-time at the second level, which can be compared to the performance of general-purpose processor based Inspection. However, the simulation results show that the deep packet searching is also possible up to 2Gbps in wire speed when we adopt 10Gbps APP solution.

  • In this paper, we introduce our experience of the design and implementation of mobile collaboration system(MCS) that support people using mobile devices to participate in cooperative session. There are considerable differences between desktop PC and mobile devices like PDA in processing ability, resolution of display and color degree. In the case of mobile devices, they use different processors and different operating system and they have even differences in ability of executing application. The mobile collaborative system based on T.120 protocol of ITU-T standard compromised of mobile collaboration server, mobile collaboration client, session node and application. We also define the session node in desktop PC in which session control block and communication block runs. This node provide functions of session control block and communication block to mobile collaboration clients and so lighten load of clients. The mobile collaboration server provides information of candidates for session node, session and user to mobile collaboration client. And this server support clients to configure their own session node and manage sessions. Only the mobile collaboration client module and applications including APE are executed in a mobile device when user using mobile devices would like to participate in cooperative session. We implemented mobile collaboration client and applications with JAVA to support platform independency.
