  • As the price-performance ratio of embedded PCs improves, the benefits of the PC-Fi can be maximized by designing an embedded PC-Fi system. In this paper presents the design of an embedded PC-Fi that can be manipulated by a remote controller based on mobile devices such as smart phones or tablets. Additionally, an interactive control system and its GUI, through which the user can select and play music as they like at ease, are presented. The case that a large amount of music is stored in the PC-Fi system requires a function allowing the user to easily select the music they want to listen to. In order to implement this function, a DB containing detailed information of each track can be used to find the location of the desired music with keywords provided by the user. In this proposed system, the embedded PC-Fi system and remote controller are mutually connected via a WiFi network, and more than one user can remotely control the embedded system with their own mobile device.

  • Recently, the ubiquitous computing environment being able to connect all kinds of computing elements at anytime anywhere becomes widespread in human life. In this paper, we focus on a PC remote control system using cellular phones. Especially, we design and implement an mobile e-mail transmission system using PC remote control technique. By using our remote controller, cellular phone users can login into their own PC, and then send any file to others by e-mail attachment. To show the correct running of our system, real demonstration results are presented. We are sure that by opening our source code to the public our results can play an important role to encourage development of the various mobile remote control functionalities.

The Efficacy of Needle-Acupuncture at Nei Guan (PC06) and Xin Shu (BL15) on Canine Tachycardia (개 빈맥에 대한 내관(PCO6) 및 심수(BLl5) 자침의 효과)

  • This study examined the efficacy of needle-acupuncture (AP) at Nei Guan (PC06) and Xin Shu (BL15) on canine tachycardia. A total of 18 beagle dogs were divided into three groups: a control (6 heads), PC06 (6 heads) and PC06 (6 heads) group. Tachycardia was induced by an intramuscular injection of glycopyrrolate. No treatment was given to the control group. Needle-AP at PC06 and BL15 were applied simultaneously at the same time as the glycopyrrolate injection for 20 minutes in PC06 and BL15 groups, respectively. The changes in R-R intervals and respiration rates were determined. The changes in the R-R intervals in the PC06 and BL15 groups were significantly higher than the control group. The R-R intervals of the BL15 group were significantly higher than in the PC06 group. The changes in the respiration rates in the PC06 group were similar to those of the control group. However, the respiration rates in the BL15 group were significantly lower than the control and PC06 groups. In conclusion, needle-AP at PC06 and BL15 is effective in assisting in the recovery from induced canine tachycardia. However, needle-AP at BL15 is more effective than that at PC06.

Development of Bent Glass Automatic Shaping System using PC-based Parallel Distributed Control Scheme (PC기반 병렬 분산제어방식을 이용한 곡면유리 자동성형기 개발)

  • This paper presents the parallel distributed control scheme for shaping of the bent glass. The designed system consists of a PC, a main controller and 11 servo-controllers, the precision motion controllers. Each elements are connected by using RS-232C and 8-bit data bus. In order to guarantee the stability and the control performance, we use a precision PID motion controller and a H-bridge on the servo-drivers. PC calculates position values of 11 DC motors by using the pre-determined curvature value and offers the user interface environment operator. The main controller provides the control instructions and parameter values to 11 servo-controllers by chip enable signal, simultaneously. Using the received commands and parameter values, the servo-controllers control the positions of the DC motors based on PID control scheme.

  • Recently, the robot control systems are required to be more flexible and intelligent in order to execute more complex and delicate tasks. As an approach to such system, a PC-based robot control system is presented in this paper. The axis controllers are independently designed for each joint of robot manipulator and are supervised by a personal computer. Therefore, the almost system program including the control algorithm can be easily developed and modified in the PC's environment. This proposed control system was successfully applied to 4 axis SCARA-type robot and the associated S/W modules were developed. We can construct sensory robot systems by simply connecting the sensing devices to the PC and the study on this now being progressed.

  • In this paper, we propose a PC based distributed controller for a two axis convey table using real-time micro-kernel. PC, Windows program, gives an easy way to implement wealthy GUI and micro-kernel, ${\mu}$C/OS-II, provides a real-time capability to control devices. We built a real-time distributed control system using ${\mu}$C/OS-II kernel which needs to process the tasks for two motors within the desired time to synchronize the motion. We used both semaphore and message mail box for synchronization. Unlike the previous study where we used step motors for the actuator of two axes convey table, we rebuilt the convey table with DC motors and the dedicated position servo which had built in out lab, and then we implemented a realtime distributed control system by putting the micro-kernel into between PC and position servo. Moreover we developed the PC based graphic user interfaces for generating planar drawing image control. Experimental results also presented to show the Proposed control system is useful.

  • This paper presents the flight control system using a PC104 with GPS and IMU. This System includes an Auto/Manual conversion module by PIC16 for safety, and homing type guidance algorithm to flight toward a scheduled target. We verify the performance of the flight control system via ground test, and present the possibility of application into UAV control system via comparison with the commercial system.

  • In this paper, we propose a programmable method that can connect the control network with the Internet by using an ordinary PC, which is operated by GNU/LINUX. We make a physical connection between an ordinary PC and control network. Then, a PC can be bound with a particular control network. Moreover, numerous PCs that are bound with particular control networks have addresses of there own on the Internet. So, these PCs are connected each other very well. Consequently, all control networks can be observed and controlled with data transfer between these PCs.

  • A real time process control package was developed in an INTEL 80386 based PC and MS OS/2 environment using MS-C and MS-FORTRAN. RTACS(Real Time Advanced Control System), process control computer software for distributed or centralized architectures, is a package which meets functional requirements specified for typical continuous process applications like chemical processes. The package consists of 5 parts, which are DB(data base), OCF(Operator Console Functions), CL (Control logic Library), MSM(Multitasking and Scheduling, Manager) and UAI(User Applications Interface), based upon a table and function block architecture to improve the system performance.

  • We deals with stationary layout control system of AGV. It is a intelligent control system to he wholly charged control PC a layout information and guided command and to be controlled a vehicle driving, steering, safety of natural functions of AGV. Fieldbus concentrator of stationary layout control system serves control command from control PC and status information of AGV. Telegram software monitors transmitted command and status information through IR(JnfraRed) modem. Especially it is possible to easily network to use not an exclusive controller of AGV but personal computer(PC) when communicate and interface a different kind of controller.
