Result Verification Scheme Using Resource Distribution Information in Korea@Home PC Grid Systems (Korea@Home PC 그리드 시스템에서 자원 분포 정보를 이용한 결과검증 기법)

  • The result verification that determines correctness for the work results calculated in each PC is one of the most important issues in PC grid environments. In this literature, voting-based and trust-based schemes have been mainly used to guarantee the correctness of work results. However, these schemes suffer from both waste of resource utilization and high computation delay because they can not effectively cope with dynamic computational environments. To overcome these shortcomings, we introduce the distribution information of PC resources based on credibility and availability into result verification phase. Using this information, we propose a new result verification scheme, which can determine the correctness of work results by each PC resources' credibility and cope with the dynamic changing environments by each PC resources' availability. To demonstrate the efficiency of our result verification scheme, we evaluate the performance of our scheme from the viewpoints of turnaround time and resource utilization, utilizing resource distribution information in the Korea@Home that is a representative PC grid system in domestic. We also compare the performance of our scheme with that of other ones.

  • 그리드 환경에서 어플리케이션 컨텐츠는 특정한 문제 해결을 위한 실질적인 작업이며, 그리드 자원에 분산 배포 되고 서로 연관되어 실행되기 때문에 협업 환경을 구성하는 것은 매우 중요한 부분이다. 그리고 대부분의 협업은 워크플로우를 통하여 구체화 되고, 그리드 환경에서 협업 처리를 위한 미들웨어로는 Globus toolkit이 대표적이다. 하지만 이 미들웨어는 그리드 환경 구축을 위한 기본 서비스들만을 제공하고, 협업을 할 수 있는 워크풀로우 생성, 작업 스케줄링, 어플리케이션 컨텐츠 관리 같은 부분은 적용 되지 않는다. 또한 Globus Toolkit은 대형화된 그리드 커뮤니티 구성에는 적합하나, 소규모 PC 기반에는 부적합하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 PC 기반 그리드 환경에서 소규모 협업 처리에 효율적인 어플리케이션 서비스 시스템을 제안한다. 어플리케이션 컨텐츠 배포, PC기반으로 구성된 자원관리등의 역할을 통해 효율적인 협업 환경을 지원한다. 또한 워크풀로우는 어플리케이션 컨탠츠 연관관계 사전을 만들어 협업에 필요한 어플리케이션 컨탠츠간의 정보 및 연관 관계를 표현한다.

Grid Computing System based on Web Worker for Smart TV Environments (스마트 TV환경에 적합한 Web Worker 기반의 그리드 컴퓨팅 시스템)

  • In recent years, there has been a popularity rose up on Smart TV (Smart Television) usage at home. Therefore, it is also have increase the demand on grid computing system. Smart TV has a variety of platform and usage compare to PC (Personal computer). Base on this, it is difficult to apply a traditional grid system on Smart TV. One major reason are concerning the small idle time compare to PC. To overcome this problem, this paper will propose a Javascript grid system and introducing a new scheduling policy that best suit for a smart TV. We have conduct an experiment on the proposed method. The result provides an average of 1.78 percent, which is improved compare to the traditional method which is only provides an average of 0.09 percent.

  • PC grid computing is a paradigm of distributed computing that are collection the idle resource of numerous PCs to perform large-scale. As this way, created high performance resources use a large-scale computational application, also this paradigm studied new measurement in place of application using super computer. This paper suggests ORRS(Open Resource Registration System) that selects a adequate resource what application client want. This system register descriptions of resource that provide group, such as organization, party, team, PCs idle resource in open archive. Also, this system provide PC grid computing environment which is select suitable resource actively what application client want.

  • For the available grid environmental realization, the resource supply PC must have to provide an appropriate security function of their operation environments. SKY@HOME is a kind of the grid computing environments. If this has not supervised by administrator handling smoothly, it is inherently vulnerable state to the security level of the grid environments, because the resource supply PC is not update a security function without delay. It is also have the troublesome problems which have to install of an additional security program for support the appropriate security. This paper proposes an integration security model on the policy-based that provides an update each level according to the situation of the resource supply PC for improving its problems as a security aspect of the SKY@HOME. This model analyzes the security state of the resource supply PC respectively, and then the result is available to provide an appropriate security of the resource supply PC using an integration security model. The proposed model is not need additionally to buy and install the software, because it is provided the security management server oriented service. It is also able to set up the suit security function of a characteristic of the each resource supply PC. As a result, this paper clearly show the participation of resource supply PC improved about 20%.

  • 그리드 컴퓨팅의 기본 개념은 여러 대의 저 성능 컴퓨터 자원을 통합하여 고성능 컴퓨팅 환경을 구축하는 것이다. 이런 환경을 관리하기 위해서는 요청된 작업에 대해 자원 관리 시스템의 효율적인 자원 탈당 기능이 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 효과적인 자원의 선택을 위해 CPU의 종합적인 성능을 평가하는 UC 단위 모델을 제안하고, 제안된 모델을 기준으로 자원관리 시스템에서 저 성능 컴퓨터 자원을 효율적으로 할당 할 수 있도록 저 성능 자원 우선 알고리즘을 제안하며, 이를 이용한 에이전트 기반 자원관리 시스템을 구현한다.

  • 그리드는 전세계적으로 분산되어 있는 다양한 고성능 장비뿐만 아니라 개인 PC까지 연결하여 가상의 단일 시스템을 구축하는 것을 의미한다. 그리드 환경에서 거대 문제(Grand Challenge Problem)을 해결하기 위해서는 그리드 기반 구조의 구축, 그리드 미들웨어의 개발, 그리드 어플리케이션과 포탈의 연구 및 개발이 이루어져야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 특정 어플리케이션을 최적으로 지원할 수 있는 그리드 네트워크 구축을 위한 요구사항 명세와 이러한 정보들을 그리드 어플리케이션에 피드백으로 결합하여 그리드 환경에서 어플리케이션을 효과적으로 운영, 관리할 수 있는 시스템을 설계한다.

  • Routing region modeling method of auto_routing systems are use the grid and the non-grid type. Though grid type has a few electrical and physical element on PCB, grid type has disadvantage which decrease the auto-routing speed dur to constraint with board and gird size. Thus it increase the memory capacity, Non-grid type(Shape baed type) use the region processing type, so it has 44.2% memory decrease effect than grid type in routing region. Thus, via number has 55% decrease effect, total routing time is increased 83.8% than conventional PCB system. In this paper we developed high speed PCB auto-routing system without memory waste by using shaped type applicant with auction algorithm which reaching the destination from one-point with best speed and solving the path problem. Also, this system developed by Visual C++ in IBM Pentium computer Window environment, and compatible with other PC.

  • The modeling methods of routing region used in the automatic placement/routing system are a grid and non-grid. Because the gird method is curbed by its size and a board if the electrical and physical elements on PCB are of small quantity, it has many memories. Therefore, it has demerit which decreases the speed of automatic placement/routing. The Shape-based type, non-grid method, makes the shapes exist as an in dividual element in a memory by using a region-processing method. Each individual element needs very small memory since it has its unique data size. Therefore, this paper aimed to develope the automatic placement/routing system which can automatically place and route the PCB without dissipation of memory at a high speed. To this aim, the auction algorithm method was applied which can make the memories be most rapidly reached from the original point to various destinations. Also, this system was developed by the Visual C++ in the Widows environment of IBM Pentium computer in order to use it in an individual PC system.
