A Fast Motion Detection and Tracking Algorithm for Automatic Control of an Object Tracking Camera (객체 추적 카메라 제어를 위한 고속의 움직임 검출 및 추적 알고리즘)

  • Video based surveillance systems based on an active camera require a fast algorithm for real time detection and tracking of local motion in the presence of global motion. This paper presents a new fast and efficient motion detection and tracking algorithm using the displaced frame difference (DFD). In the Proposed algorithm, first, a Previous frame is adaptively selected according to the magnitude of object motion, and the global motion is estimated by using only a few confident matching blocks for a fast and accurate result. Then, a DFD is obtained between the current frame and the selected previous frame displaced by the global motion. Finally, a moving object is extracted from the noisy DFD by utilizing the correlation between the DFD and current frame. We implement this algorithm into an active camera system including a pan-tilt unit and a standard PC equipped with an AMD 800MHz processor. The system can perform the exhaustive search for a search range of 120, and achieve the processing speed of about 50 frames/sec for video sequences of 320$\times$240. Thereby, it provides satisfactory tracking results.

  • Natural Phenomena are simulated to make computer users feel verisimilitude and be immersed in games or virtual reality. The important factor in simulating fluid such as water or sea using 3D rendering technology in games or virtual reality is real-time interaction and reality. There are many difficulties in simulating fluid models because it is controlled by many equations of each specific situation and many parameter values. In addition, it needs a lot of time in processing physically-based simulation. In this paper, I suggest simplified fluid-surface model in order to represent interaction between rigid body and fluid, and it can make faster simulation by improved processing. Also, I show movement of fluid surface which is come from collision of rigid body caused by reaction of fluid in representing interaction between rigid body and fluid surface. This natural fluid-surface model suggested in this paper is represented realistically in real-time using fluid dynamics veri similarly. And the fluid-surface model will be applicable in games or animation by realizing it for PC environment to interact with this.

  • Smartphones and smartpads have a lot of advantages such as high convenience and portability. Also, they can effectively manage enormous amounts of information based on their high performance and plentiful applications. As such devices have been frequently used, many users manage various types of information using the devices. Recently, during conferences or seminars, smart device users often try to utilize stored resources on their devices and present them visually. Unfortunately, since smart devices have small displays, there is an essential difficulty in visual sharing of information. In this paper, we propose a method which integrates screens of several android smart devices and supports sharing of the integrated screen through a large display, presenting a screen sharing system for android smart devices. The developed system integrates display screens of several smart devices into a screen and shows the integrated screen through a large display connected to a desktop computer. In addition, to support the effective sharing of screens, the system provides functions for adjusting the number and the size of screens on a large display. The functions are controlled on a smart device and/or a desktop computer.

  • Recently, the smart farm development using a PC and smart phone to manag the farm for improving competitiveness is in progress. In the smart farm, by using the various ICT technology including RFID, Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Wireless LAN, and etc., the growing environment of the crop and animals can be managed with the remote. By using the network including not only the TCP/IP based wired network but also ZigBee, Wireless LAN, and etc., each of the devices installed in the smart farm transmits the growing environment data to the server. So, smart farms have information and network security vulnerability. Therefore, we propose the method that analyzes the security vulnerability which can begenerated in the smart farm and user authentication method.

  • The function of the black box can be combined with a car to check the video through a cloud server, reduce the hassle of checking the video through a memory card, check the black box image in real time through a PC and smartphone, and check the user's Excel, brake operation status, and handle control record at the time of the accident. In addition, the goal was to accurately identify vehicle accidents and simplify accident handling through artificial intelligence object recognition of black box images using cloud services. Measures can be prepared to preserve images even if the black box itself loses, such as fire, flooding, or damage that occurs in an accident. It has been confirmed that the exact situation before and after the accident can be grasped immediately by providing object recognition and log recording functions under actual driving experimental conditions.

  • This paper describes the development of unmanned vehicle remote control system which is configured with steering and accelerating/braking hardware to improve the sense of reality and safety of control. Generally, in these case of the remote control system, a joystick-type device is used for steering and accelerating/braking control of unmanned vehicle in most cases. Other systems have been developing using simple steering wheel, but there is no function of that feedback the feeling of driving situation to users and it mostly doesn't include the accelerating/braking control hardware. The technology of feedback means that a reproducing the feeling of current driving situation through steering and accelerating/braking hardware when driving a vehicle in person. In addition to studying feedback technologies that reduce unfamiliarity in remote control of unmanned vehicles, it is necessary to develop the remote control system with hardware that can improve sense of reality. Therefore, in this study, the reliable remote control system is developed and required system specification is defined for applying force-feedback haptic control technology developed through previous research. The system consists of a steering-wheel module similar to a normal vehicle and an accelerating/braking pedal module with actuators to operate by feedback commands. In addition, the software environment configured by CAN communication to send feedback commands to each modules. To verify the reliability of the remote control system, the force-feedback haptic control algorithms developed through previous research were applied, to assess the behavior of the algorithms in each situation.

Automatic Punching System for FPC using Machine Vision (비전 기반의 FPC용 자동 펀칭시스템)

  • This paper is about the development of Automatic FPC(flexible printed circuit) punching instrument for the improvement of working condition and cost saving. FPC is used to detect the contact position of keyboard and button like a cellular phone. Depending on the quality of the printed ink and position of reference punching point to the FPC, the resistance and current are varied to the malfunctioning values. The size of reference punching point is 2mm and the above. Because the punching operation is done manually, The punching accuracy is varied with operator's condition. Recently, The punching accuracy has deteriorated severely to the 2mm punching reference hall so that assembly of the K/B has hardly done. To improve this manual punching operation to the FPC, automatic FPC punching system is introduced. Precise mechanical parts like a 5-step stepping motor and ball screw mechanism are designed and tested and low cost PC camera is used fur the sake of cost down instead of using high quality vision systems for the factory automation. Test algorithms and programs showed good results to the designed automatic punching system and led to the increasement of productivity and huge cost down to law material like FPC by avoiding bad quality.

  • 연성 PCB(flexible printed circuit board)는 현재 노트북 PC와 디지털 카메라등에 적용되며, 굴곡성이 강하고 소형화 및 조립에 용이하여 주로 기판 사이나주기판과 외부 커넥터사이에 데이터의 전송매체로써 널리 사용되는 핵심부품이다. 근래에 개발되는 PCB 기반의 고성능 신호처리회로들은 데이터 전송율이 수백 MHz에서 수 GHz에 이르고 있으며, 신호선과 유전체, 접지판의 구조적 특성에 따라서, 반사 효과와 같은 신호무결성 문제들이 파생되어 신호의 최대성능을 제한하게된다. 이에 따라 적절한 임피던스 제어를 통하여 고성능신호들의 왜곡을 상쇄시키는 기술이 중요하게 되었다. 본 논문에서는 연성 PCB 전송라인을 위한 임피던스 모델을 대상으로 각 모델의 주요 특징 및 정확성을 분석하였다. 연성 PCB의 전송라인은 보통 전통적인 마이크로스트립 라인의 특성 임피던스 모델에 비해 신호선의 너비가 크며, 이를 반영한 개선된 수학적 임피던스 모델들이 제안되어 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 기존의 마이크로스트립 전송라인과 연성 PCB 전송라인에 적합한 수학적 모델들을 이용하여 신호 무결성 문제를 모의할 수 있는 CAE(computer-aided engineering) 도구의 임피던스 측정 결과를 비교 및 분석하였다.

Development of a Control System for E-Bike Based on IOT (IOT 기반의 전기 자전거 제어 시스템 개발)

  • In this paper, a control system for E-bike based on IOT was developed, which collects and monitors information of states of E-bike and surrounding environments from several sensors and control devices in E-bike, and informs the possible dangers to rider when riding the E-bike. Developed electronic control system can manage battery efficiently, obtain battery's remaining power in real-time and provide possible riding distance to rider. It makes possible for rider to schedule near optimal riding route in terms of battery usage and respond quickly to battery discharge. Results of applying developed system to E-bike show that according to driving-mode, possible driving distance can be calculated efficiently and using user application App, real-time driver position marking and driving route searching functions lead to energy efficient E-bike driving. Later we will endeavor to integrate BMS, ECU, smart-phone and PC(server) to provide stable driving system based on various driving information of E-bike.

  • In this paper, we proposed a PC-based CNC control system using EtherCAT-based servo drive and I/O device. The default communication of LinuxCNC is a parallel port, and data processing with high bandwidth is impossible. However, it is possible to apply various bandwidth devices through the application of EtherCAT, one of the industrial Ethernet communications with high bandwidth. Therefore, the hardware control method of LinuxCNC was applied through EtherCAT communication from the existing parallel port. Finally, through HAL configuration, I/O device operation check and 3-axis motion control proved the LinuxCNC system with EtherCAT.
