Design and Implementation of Integrated E-Coaching system Based on Synchronous and Asynchronous (동기/비동기 기반의 통합 E-코칭 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Until now, face to face coaching has been applied almost for completing the goal in various field. Face to face coaching is difficult always to reach each other anywhere, anytime due to the availability of internet and mobile devices. Recently, e-coaching is attempted to expend. But current e-coaching is supporting the secondary role for face to face coaching. E-coaching system has many benefits to use advancement technologies in internet. Therefore, the development of e-coaching system based on horizontal relationships between coach and coachee needs to communication anytime and anywhere in Internet. Usually previous online coaching systems have four types of interactions i.e. electronic mail, video chat, text chat, phone call. Most of the e-coaching approaches are easy to access and provide communication synchronous; video chat is an excellent visibility, whereas e-mail is asynchronous and document-centric. In this paper, we design and implement the integration e-coaching system based on synchronous and asynchronous. This system provides the asynchronous coaching offered by way of e-mail, and the synchronous coaching used P2P (Peer to Peer) video chat and text group chat. This system allows simultaneously asynchronous and synchronous coaching, and supports individual and group communication for periodical or informal coaching.

  • Improvement of Wireless internet and handheld devices makes it possible that users can use various multimedia services. But, access point devices are needed while using handheld devices, and those devices use virtual network address for networking. For that reason, end-users hardly use the 1:1 voice or video chat, and messenger service that require direct communications between devices. Also, service providers need central server for relaying packets from terminals to others, the traffic and costs of relaying go high, so real-time massive data transmission services are restrictively provided. In this study, we apply TCP/UDP hole punching technique to those applications. And we implement service that supports real-time multimedia direct transmission between equipments that use virtual network addresses.

  • WebRTC is one of the most recent technologies that supports browser-to-browser for voice calling, video chat, and P2P file sharing without the need of either internal or external plugins. However, there has some limitation which lets our development deal with many problems. This research will focus just on a small field of that problem which is bandwidth. While the bandwidth for downloading and uploading is fixed by service providers, but the number of users in a certain area is increasing largely by the time. In this paper, we propose a model to overcome the limitation of the bandwidth based on fuzzy control to adjust utilized bandwidth by changing frame rate and resolution of streaming video in the client itself.

The Mental Health of Adolescents in the Post-Human Era: A Study of the Relationship Between Non Face-To-Face Communication Media and Verbal Violence (포스트휴먼 시대 청소년의 정신 건강: 비대면 대화 매체 사용과 언어폭력 관련성 연구)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of verbal violence that adolescents face in the post-human age, when the non-face-to-face media is increasing. Methods: A survey was conducted on 305 adolescents, aged 14 to 16 years of middle school and high school students. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 25.0. Results: As a result of conducting multiple regression analysis to identify the type of conversation that affects verbal abuse of adolescents, a model with a conversation with family, conversation with other people, messenger conversation such as KakaoTalk, and video chat conversation was selected. The amount of explanation was 11.4%. (R2 = .114) Of these, non-face-to-face conversations have been shown to increase verbal violence, and face-to-face conversations with family have, in turn, lowered the risk. As a result of t-testing to examine the effect of verbal abuse experience on the verbal violence index, the damage experience was significant in depression (p = .042) and impulsive aggression (p = .021). (P = .000). Conclusion: This study reiterates the importance of family dialogue along with the fact that the development of various non-face-to-face media in the Fourth Industrial Revolution can have a negative impact on adolescent mental health.

A Cross Sectional Study on Elementary Students' Access to Computer Online Pornography (일개지역 초등학교 고학년들의 컴퓨터 음란물 접촉 실태에 관한 연구)

  • This cross sectional study was done to find out the situation of computer online pornography access by 4th to 6th grade elementary school students. The subjects of this study were three elementary schools in Andong, which were selected randomly and 120 students randomly selected from 4th to 6th grade for a total of 360 students. The questionnaire was composed with the help of a community health nursing professor and through the reference review. The collected data were analysed by a PC SPSS 10.0 according to school grade and sex, an 12-test was implemented to learn what percent of students have computers and software which prohibit the viewing of online pornography, access motivation and time, content viewed, attitude after accessing the contents, and opinions about computer online pornography. The results of this study were as follows. 1. A total of 86.1% of students had computers at home. Most students placed computers in their own room, 78.9% of students had computer online communication experience. Higher grade students tended to have more experience of communications on the internet (P<0.001). Most students chatted on the internet once or twice a week and higher grade students tended to communicate online more frequently. (P<0.001). Most students used computers more than one hour a day (P<0.05). They used computers according to the following priorities: game, studying, listening to music, communications, chatting. 2. Regarding the frequency of going computer online more than seven times per week, male students showed a higher frequency than female students (P<0.05). Male students used computers more than one hour a day and female students less than half an hour (P<0.001). Male students mostly used computers to play computer games. On the other hand. female students used the computer to study, listen to music, and chat (P<0.001). 3. Regarding software installation to prevent access of computer online pornography, a total of 19.4% of students responded they installed one. but 80.6% didn't have any, 20.3% of students had accessed pornography, 46.6% of students responded. they first get to know to the computer online pornography through friends. 4. The reasons for accessing computer online pornography were ranked as follows: curiosity, interest, to release stress, and sex drive (P<0.05). Obscene contents were found in computer games, pictures, and video. Among these, pictures were the most common. 5. Regarding students' attitude toward online pornography, most students responded that they took much pleasure in the contents (P<0.05). 6. Regarding the question 'Does online pornography degrade morals and cause a sex crime', most students responded as 'no'. They also responded positively to the suggestion that the contents would be effective in preventing sex crimes and to release stress. 74.7% of students responded that males' access of the contents as proper but females' access as immoral. Regarding social efforts to protect students from this harmful environment. most replied that those efforts were unnecessary (P<0.001).

PECOLE+: An Extension of PECOLE Collaborative System for Supporting Effective Multiple Groups (PECOLE+: 다중그룹을 효과적으로 지원하기 위한 PECOLE 협업 시스템의 확장)

  • PECOLE (Peer-to-Peer Collaborative Environment) is a P2P-based multimedia distributed collaborative environment supporting a collaborative workspace which is composed of a variety of collaborative applications such as multi-chat, video conferencing, screen sharing and etc. Unfortunately, due to the PECOLE's simple group management, it is impossible to perform collaboration activities while joining multiple groups. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of PECOLE+ which is an extension of PECOLE. PECOLE+ resolves the drawback of PECOLE by providing the Group Management Service and the Workspace Management Service. The Group Management Service provides functionalities such as creating groups, joining multiple groups, and searching groups, and etc. The Workspace Management Service provides each group with an associated workspace, supporting the execution of collaborative applications over the workspace. In addition, any collaborative applications with the provided plug-in interfaces can be executed over the workspace as a PECOLE+ collaborative application.
