The Relation Between Work-Related Musculoskeletal Symptoms and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment(RULA) among Vehicle Assembly Workers (자동차 조립 작업자들에서 상지 근골격계의 인간공학적 작업평가(Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) 결과와 자각증상과의 연관성)

  • Objectives. This study was conducted to evaluate the association between upper extremity musculoskeletal symptoms and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment(RULA) in vehicle assembly line workers. The goal of this study is to show the feasibility of RULA as a checklist for work related musculoskeletal symptoms (WMSDs) in Korean workers. Methods. The total number of 199 people from the department of assembly and 115 people from the department of Quality Control(QC) in automotive plant were subjects for this cross sectional study. A standard symptom questionnaire survey has been used for the individual characteristics, work history, musculosketal symptoms and non-occupational covariates. The data were obtained by applying one-on-one interview for the all subjects. RULA has been applied for ergonomic work posture analysis and the primary ergonomic risk sure was computed by RULA method. Association between upper extremity musculoskeletal symptoms and RULA were assessed by multiple logistic regression analysis. Results. A total of 314 workers was examined. The prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms by NIOSH case definition was 62.4%. The distribution of musculoskeletal symptoms by the part of the body turned out to be following; back:41.4%, neck: 32.8%, shoulder: 26.4%, arm: 10.5% and hand:29.3%. The relationship of the individual RULA scores were statistically significant for the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms. As the result of the multiple logistic regressioin analysis, grand final score (OR=2.250 95% CI: 1.402-3.612) was associated with musculoskeletal symptoms in any part of the body.; upper arm score(OR=1.786 95% CI: 1.036-3.079) and posture score A(OR=1.634 95% CI: 1.016-2.626) in neck; muscel use score(OR=3.076 95% CI:1.782-5.310) and posture score A(OR=1.798 95% CI: 1.072-3.017) in shoulder; upper arm score(OR=1.715 95% CI: 1.083-2.715) and muscel use score(OR=2.057 95% CI:1.303-3.248) in neck & shoulder; muscle use score(OR=10.662 95% CI: 3.180-35.742) in arm; writst/wist score(OR=2.068 95% CI: 1.130-3.786) and muscle use score(OR=2.215 95% CI: 1.284-3.819) in hand & wrist.; muscle use score of trunk (OR=2.601 95% CI: 1.147-5.901) in back. Conclusions. Musculoskeletal symptoms of the extremities were strongly associated with individual RULA body score. These results show that RULA can be used as a useful assessment tool for the evaluation of musculoskeletal loading which is known to contribute to work-related musculoskeletal disorders. RULA also can be used as a screening tool or incorporated into a wider ergonomic assessment of epidemiological, physical, mental, environmental and organizational factors. As shown in this study, complement of the analysis system for the other risk factors and characterizing between the upper limb and back part will be needed for future work.

Transfinite Interpolation Technique for P-Version of F.E.M. (초유한 보간법에 의한 p-version 유한요소해법)

  • In the h-version of F.E.M., all piecewisely smooth curved boundaries can be approximated by a sufficient number of straight-sided elements. However, in the p-version the size of the element is usually large and hence the probability of distortions is more. An attempt has been made to generate a curved boundary by using a transfinite interpolation technique to avoid the discretization errors. In the following sections, it will be shown how to construct transfinite interpolants both in h-version and in p-version over polygonal and nonpolygonal regions. Three numerical tests are shown to validate the applicability and superior capability of transfinite interpolation technique.

Effective Wavefield Separation of Reflected P- and PS-Waves in Multicomponent Seismic Data by Using Rotation Transform with Stacking (다성분 탄성파탐사자료에서 회전 변환과 중합을 이용한 효과적인 P파 반사파와 PS파 반사파의 분리)

  • Multicomponent seismic data including both P- and PS-waves have advantages in discriminating the type of pore fluid, characterizing the lithologic attributes and producing the high resolution image. However, multicomponent seismic data recorded at the vertical and horizontal component receivers contain both P- and PS-waves which have different features, simultaneously. Therefore, the wavefield separation of P- and PS-waves as a preprocessing is inevitable in order to use the multicomponent seismic data successfully. In this study, we analyzed the previous study of the wavefield separation method suggested by Jeong and Byun in 2011, where the approximated reflection angle calculated only from one refernce depth is used in rotation transform, and showed its limitation for seismic data containing various reflected events from the multi-layered structure. In order to overcome its limitation, we suggested a new effective wavefield separation method of P- and PS-waves. In new method, we calculate the reflection angles with various reference depths and apply rotation transforms to the data with those reflection angles. Then we stack all results to obtain the final separated data. To verify our new method, we applied it to the synthetic data sets from a multi-layered model, a fault model, and the Marmousi-2 model. The results showed that the proposed method separated successfully P- and PS-reflection events from the multicomponent data from mild dipping layered model as long as the dip is not too steep.

  • 구강내의 교정 장치는 미생물 전파에 있어서 다양한 장소를 제공한다. 치태는 치아 우식증 발생에 있어 매우 큰 역할을 하며 미생물, 비세포성 물질로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 생체외에서 교정용에서의 인공 치태 생성에 영향을 주는 요인을 평가하는 것이다. Streptococcus mutans type c는 $CO_2$ incubator내의 $37^{\circ}C$에서 brain heart infusion broth에서 배양 되었다. 중절치에 사용하는 9개의 $.018"{\times}.025"$ standard edgewise brackets을 3개씩 비이커의 배양액에 매달았다. 3개 비이커의 배양액 pH는 각 각 pH 5.5, 7.0 그리고 8.5로 조절되었다. 5시간 후에 비이커에서 각각의 bracket을 꺼내서, bracket의 평균 무게를 측정하였다. 배지의 stirring effect를 측정하기 위하여 3개씩 $.018"{\times}.025"$ standard edgewise brackets을 2개의 비이커에 위치시켰다. 12개의 brackets을 $CaCl_2$(0.25, 1.0, 4.0 그리고 16.0mM). KCl(2.5, 10, 40 그리고 160mM) 그리고 $MgCl_2$(0.1, 0.4, 1.6, 그리고 6.4mM) 용액에 각각 매달았다. 6개의 $.018"{\times}.025"$ standard edgewise brackets, 6개의 $.022"{\times}.028"$ Roth brackets과 6개의 $.022"{\times}.028"$ Broussard brackets을 각각의 비이커 내에 매달았다. 배양액 내에서 5시간 동안 배양한 후 각각의 brackets을 근사값의 milligram 단위로 측정하였다. 그룹 사이의 차이는 Mann-Whitney와 Kruskal-Wallis tests를 이용하여 비교하였다. p value<0.05의 조건에서 이들의 차이는 통계학적 유의성을 갖는다. 5시간 동안 pH 5.5에서 배양된 Streptococcus mutans에 의해 형성된 인공 치태는 pH 7.0 이나 pH 8.5에서 배양된 것보다 작았다(p<0.05). 인공 치태는 배양하는 동안 저어졌을 때 더 많이 형성되었다(p<0.05). 결론적으로 bracket에 형성된 인공 치태는 좀 더 높은 알칼리성 배지에서 배양됨으로써, 그리고 배양 동안 배지를 저어줌으로써 유의성있게 증가하였다. 그러나 배지의 $CaCl_2,\;KCl,\;MgCl_2$의 농도와 상업적으로 다른 종류의 이용 가능한 교정용 bracket에 대해서는 유의한 차이가 없었다.

Prediction of Ship Roll Motion using Machine Learning-based Surrogate Model (기계학습기반의 근사모델을 이용한 선박 횡동요 운동 예측)

  • Seakeeping safety module in Korean e-Navigation system is one of the ship remote monitoring services that is employed to ensure the safety of ships by monitoring the ship's real time performance and providing a warning in advance when the abnormal conditions are encountered in seakeeping performance. In general, seakeeping performance has been evaluated by simulating ship motion analysis under specific conditions for its design. However, due to restriction of computation time, it is not realistic to perform simulations to evaluate seakeeping performance under real-time operation conditions. This study aims to introduce a reasonable and faster method to predict a ship's roll motion which is one of the factors used to evaluate a ship's seakeeping performance by using a machine learning-based surrogate model. Through the application of various learning techniques and sampling conditions on training data, it was observed that the difference of roll motion between a given surrogate model and motion analysis was within 1%. Therefore, it can be concluded that this method can be useful to evaluate the seakeeping performance of a ship in real-time operation.

The Calculation of the Energy Band Gaps of Zincblende GaP1-X NX (질화물계 반도체 GaP1-X NX의 에너지 밴드갭 계산)

  • The energy band gaps and the bowing parameters of zincblende GaP1-xNx on the variation of temperature and composition are determined by using an empirical pseudopotential method with another virtual crystal approximation, which includes the disorder effect. The bowing parameter calculated is 13.1eV and the energy band gaps are decreased rapidly for GaP1-xNx ($0{\leq}x{\leq}0.05$, 300K). A refractive index n and a function of real dielectric constant ${\varepsilon}$ are calculated by the results of energy band gaps and the calculation results of energy band gaps are consistent with experimental values.

  • Least squares (${\ell}^2-norm$) solutions of seismic inversion tend to be very sensitive to data points with large errors. The ${\ell}^p-norm$ minimization for $1{\le}p<2$ gives more robust solutions, but usually with higher computational cost. Iteratively reweighted least squares (IRLS) gives efficient approximate solutions of these ${\ell}^p-norm$ problems. I propose a simple way to implement the IRLS method for a hybrid ${\ell}^1/{\ell}^2$ minimization problem that behaves as ${\ell}^2$ fit for small residual and ${\ell}^1$ fit for large residuals. Synthetic and a field-data examples demonstrates the improvement of the hybrid method over least squares when there are outliers in the data.

  • The exact distributions of the sample variance $(S^2_n)$ and the estimator ($\hat{C}_p$) of the process capability index are not easily obtained in general. In this paper, the approximations using saddlepoint techniques to the distributions of these statistics are suggested and compared with the other approximation methods. For comparisons, the exact values obtained by extensive Monte-Carlo (simulation) studies are also given. As a result, the suggested approximation methods are very accurate even in moderate or small sample sizes and are easy to use. Also, the suggested methods can be adapted to approximate the distributions of more complicated statistics, including $\hat{C}_pk$ ,$\hat{C}_pm$, etc.

  • 네트워크에서 QoS를 보장하기 위해 최근에 제안되는 패킷 스케줄링 알고리즘은 대부분 우선 순위에 입각한 패킷 전송 서비스를 한다. 이러한 우선 순위를 유지하기 위한 큐의 관리에는 많은 비용이 들므로 QoS를 보장하는 네트워크에서 우선 순위 큐의 관리 비용을 줄이는 노력이 필요하다. 패킷 스케줄링 알고리즘 중 RPO+(Rotate Priority Queue)는 우선 순위 FIFO(First in first out)큐를 사용하여 주기 적으로 재명명되는 패킷 스케줄링 알고리즘이다. FIFO 큐에 패킷들을 근사 정렬하여 패킷의 우선 순위를 유지하므로 계산 복잡도를 줄이지만, 패킷 우선 순위를 유지하기 위해 2배(2P)의 큐를 필요로 한다.[1] 본 논문에서는 필요한 큐의 개수를 P개의 큐로 제한하여 큐에 대한 관리 비용을 줄였으며 엔터프라이즈 환경에서 애플리케이션이 요구하는 서비스 특성에 따라 클래스로 구분하여 적합한 패킷 스케줄링 서비스를 제공하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 본 기법은 추가적인 오버플로우 큐를 관리하고 패킷 어드미션 컨트롤러를 통해 패킷 전송 지연 시간을 제한함으로 다양한 애플리케이션의 네트워크 QoS 요구를 보장하고 패킷 전손 효율을 높였다.

Computing the Skyline of Moving Query Points in $L_1$ metric ($L_1$ 메트릭에서의 이동 질의점에 대한 skyline 계산)

  • 본 논문에서는 $L_1$ 메트릭을 사용하는 평면상에 주어진 자료점의 집합 P로부터 질의점의 집합 Q에 대해 skyline이 되는 점들을 계산하는 문제를 다룬다. $L_1$ 거리는 도로망이 잘 발달된 도시 내의 이동 시간을 근사화해 주는 것으로 알려져 있다. 이 문제에서 각각의 질의점은 수직 또는 수평 방향으로 단위속도로 움직인다고 가정한다. 본 논문에서는 시간 0에서 $t_1$ 사이에 움직이는 질의점들에 대해서 skyline의 변화를 모두 계산하는 알고리즘을 제시한다. 또한 이 알고리즘이 O(${\mid}P{\mid}^2{\mid}Q{\mid}$) 시간에 모든 skyline을 계산 가능함을 보인다.
