  • Recently, ozone is utilized in various fields and its needs are expanding. In this paper, fluorescent discharge type ozonizer has been designed and manufactured. Ozone discharge and generation characteristics have been investigated in accordance with a sort of internal electrodes, output voltage of power supply. flow rate and discharge power. Air has been used as the supplied gas of the ozonizer.

  • In this paper, high concentration·yield multi-discharge type ozonizer( MDO ) of new discharge type using superposed silent discharge was designed and manufactured. MDO can be consisted with 3 kind of superposed silent discharge type ozonizer( SDO ) in accordance with power supply method that supplying power, which has 180[°] phase difference, to 3 electrodes and double gap. At the moment discharge characteristics and ozone generation characteristics of each SDO were investigated in accordance with quantify of supplied gas, the number of SDO, and the shapes of each SDO. In result ozone generation characteristics of 17185[ppm] and 783[g/kWh] were obtained, and whorl ozone of 17185[ppm] was in contact with dyeing water waste decolonization characteristics was excellent, so it confirmed that MDO could be used as water environment improvement facility.

  • In this paper, a superposed discharge type ozonizer with an internal dielectric that can be made into a vacuum tube has been designed and fabricated. Ozone generation and discharge characteristics have been investigated in accordance with output voltage of power supply, flow-rate, discharge power and vacuum of inside internal dielectric. Pure oxygen was used as the supply gas of the ozonizer. Ozone concentration and ozone generation are gradually increased when discharge power is increased at the same flow-rate and they are both proportional to the vacuum level. As such, the maximum ozone concentration of 8840 ppm was obtained at vacuum 0.1 Torr and flow-rate 0.5 $\ell$/min.

  • The ozone generation characteristics are reported for a sawtooth disk to cylinger geometry using positive and negative pulse corona. A series of parametric studies was carried out to obtain optimum values for the pulse repetition frequency as well as the shape and dimensions of the discharge disk and the discharge spacing. Two types of ozonizers were studied: the single disk and the multi-disk. The results of the single disk ozonizer showed that positive corona produced a singificantly higher ozone yield than negative(7ppm/peak watt or 3.5 times larger). However the negative corona produced a much more controllable output which enabled the ozone generation to be directly controlled by adjusting the value of the peak pulse voltage. This results showed that the single disk ozonizer is ideally suited for applications requiring very small controlled quantities of ozone whereas the multi-disk unit can be designed to provide varying outputs depending upon the number of disk electrodes used.

  • In this paper, a silent discharge type ozonizer has been designed and fabricated for environment improvement. After that discharge and ozone generation characteristics in accordance with frequency of power supply and input voltage were investigated Consumed discharge un of silent discharge type ozonizer was calculated by computer program designed in "Sigma Hot 2000" program. The data needed for calculation was stored as ASCII file type from oscilloscope.

  • Ozone is widely used to sterilize food and tap water because ozone is a strong oxidizer. Efficient ozone generation is the most important issue in the field of ozone application. A variable discharge type of ozonizer that generates diffuse glow discharge in air at atmospheric pressure was used for the efficient ozone generation.
