폐굴껍질과 황토로 제조한 응집제를 利用한 폐수처리에 관한 연구 (Study on the Wastewater treatment as a Coagulant Using the Waste Oyster Shells and Loess)

  • 본 연구는 수산폐기물인 폐굴껍질과 우리나라에 넓게 분포되어 있는 황토를 이용하여 응집제를 제조하기 위한 것으로서 응집제원료의 성분조사 결과, 폐굴껍질은 CaO성분이 55.43(wt%)로 가장 많이 함유되어 있었고, 황토는$ SiO_2$가 45.30(wt%)로 주성분임을 알 수 있었다. 폐굴껍질 내의 CaO순도를 높이기 위해 $900^{\circ}C$에서 2시간동안 소성 하였으며. ball mill을 사용하여 0.074 mm(200mesh)로 분쇄 하였다. 소성된 폐굴껍질 분말과 황토 분말을 각각 6:4, 7:3, 8:2, 9: 1의 비율로 혼합하여 응집제를 제조하였다 또한 제조된 응집제와 화학 소석회와의 비교실험을 통해 화학 소석회의 대체 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • The objective of this study is to examine the subsitiution effect of the waste oyster shell powder as the conditioning agent in municipal wasterwater sludge dewatering process. Beacuse the oyster shells have a large amount(about 38% by weight) of alkaline minerals, such as calcium and magnesium, they are thought to have the potential as a good conditioning agent. In this study, the physico-chemical properties of powdered oyster shells (75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ or 200 mesh) and the dewatering characteristics of municipal waste water sludge using powdered oyster shells and CaCO3 are investigated. The conclusions are as follows, 1. Oyster shell could produce calcium ions up to 14ppm at pH-7.0, and this represents that oyster shell is a potential properties as a good conditioner. 2. 100ml of wastewater sludges, conditioned with pretreated oyster shell, are dewatered to the level of 25% solid concentration. 3. Wasterwater sludges, conditioned with oyster shell and CaCO3 are dewatered to the level of 32% solid concentration. And this shows that two-stage combined conditioning process is desirable than the one-stage conditioning process.

  • In this study, the structure and properties of waste oyster shell and its phosphorus removal efficiency were investigated. Waste oyster shells are troublesome environmental waste in the coastal region where the oysters are produced. Waste oyster shells were pyrolyzed by bench-scale rotary kiln for its activation. It shows maximum 76% of phosphorus removal efficiency for the municipal wastewater and livestock wastewater. We found that the activated oyster shells can be used as a phosphorus removal agent with the consideration of high efficiency, easy processing, and cost effectiveness.

폐굴껍질 담체를 이용한 마을하수고도처리공정의 성능평가 (Performance of Advanced Sewage Treatment Process with Waste Oyster Shell Media in Rural Area)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate the performance of Modified Ludzsck Etinger (MLE) process with waste oyster shell media in aerobic tank. Influent flow was 36 L/d and the order of reactor was anoxic, aerobic and sedimentation tank and unit hydraulic retention time was 2 hr, 6 hr and 4 hr, respectively. Sludge recycling rate in sedimentation tank and internal recycling rate were 100%. Media fill rate in aerobic tank was 5%, 10% and 17% and fluid MLSS concentration in aerobic tank was 3000~4000 mg/L. Average TCOD removal rate was 91~93%, TBOD 92~96%, SS 95~96% and when media fill rate was 10% or more, in organic compound removal it could satisfy with wastewater discharge standard. Average total nitrogen removal rate was 70~76% and average total phosphorous removal rate was 58~65%. With media fill rate increasing, total phosphorous average removal rate also increased. For it was that released calcium ion from waste oyster shell reacted with soluble phosphorous. From these experiment results, the MLE process using waste oyster shell as media is a practical method for advanced sewage treatment in rural area.

분말 폐굴껍질을 이용한 정수슬러지의 탈수 개선방안 (The Study on the Dewaterability Improvement of Water Treatment Sludge Using Powdered Waste Oyster Shells)

  • The object of this study is to find out the characteristics of waste oyster shells and determine the proper dosage of powdered waster oyster shells as the conditioning agent for water treatment sludge dewatering process. The large amount of waste oyster shells which discharges from the oyster farming, occurs serious environmental hazards. However, oysters shell contain large amount(about 38% by weight) of alkaline minerals, such as calcium and magnesium and so on, this natural material is thought to have the petential ability as a good conditioning agent. The results of this study are as follows. The optimum condition for improvement of the water treatment sludge dewaterability is when 6 g of waste oyster shell powder added to 200$m\ell$ of water treatment sludge. At optimum condition, the solid contents can reach to 31.78% and the specific resistance of conditioned sludge is 0.16$\times$10$^{8}$ sec$^2$/g. However, exceeding the of powdered waste oyster shell is needed to get the effective result. Consequently, the waste oyster shell can be a recyclable material to improve the dewaterability of water treatment sludges.

수중 이온 환경이 폐굴껍질에 대한 불소 이온의 흡착 양상에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Aqueous Ionic, Condition on the Adsorption Features of Fluoride Ion on Waste Oyster Shell)

  • The feasibility of the employment of waste oyster shell as an adsorbent for fluoride ion has been tested by considering the effect ionic condition on the adsorption of fluoride ion on oyster shell. The adsorption capacity of oyster shell for fluoride ion was found not to be significantly influenced by the ionic strength of aqueous environment. The existence of complexing agent such as nitrilotriacetic acid in wastewater decreased the adsorbed amount of fluoride ion by forming a stable complex of $CaT^-$ and the adsorption reaction of fluoride ion on oyster shell was examined to be endothermic. The coexisting heavy metal ionic adsorbate in wastewater hindered the adsorption of fluoride ion, however, its adsorbed amount was increased as the particulate size of adsorbent was decreased. Finally, a serial adsorption column test has been conducted for a practical application of adsorption process and the breakthrough of the column adsorption was observed in 22 hours under the experimental condition.

굴 패각의 원료화 공정에 따른 입도분포에 관한 연구 (A Study on Grading According to Raw Materialization of Oyster shell)

  • Oyster shell is produce by shucking process in oyster farming in southern coast of Korea. In average, about 6.7kg of oyster shell is produced as an industrial waste for 1kg of oyster flesh, and even only in last year, it is estimated that about 150,000 ton of oyster shell is produced. Oyster shell is light weighted and the strength characteristic of it is similar to send. So we would like to test if it is avail to use oyster shell crust as fine aggregate. So we use a crusher to crush oyster shell and review its particle distribution for materialization.

  • 수산물 처리과정중에서 다량으로 발생하는 폐굴껍질을 흡착제로 활용하는 방안을 모색하고자 이의 물성을 분석하였다. 폐기되는 굴껍질의 조성은 대부분 $CaCO_3$인 것으로 나타났으며 온도를 증가시키면서 굴껍질을 열분해를 시키면 온도에 따라 수분과 $CO_2$에 의한 분해가 일어나 약 46%의 무게 감량을 보인다. pH가 증가할수록 흡착되는 불소 이온의 양은 크게 감소했다. 또한 산성 불소 폐수가 흡착 반응의 평형에 도달하였을 경우 굴껍질에서 용해된 ${CO_2}^{3-}$의해 중화되는 경향이 관찰되었다.
