In this paper, the portable game machine called W"alking Beat" is designed and implemented not only to propose the new possibilities for the peripheral equipment market of portable acoustic machine but also to overcome the limitation of the acoustic simulation game machine such as the existing Beat Mania. The old game machine can be used only in a particular place, where it is installed. However, in order to get over the constraint on this space problem "Walking Beat Game Machine" is designed to facilitate the portability. In addition, the frequency analysis method using FFT algorithm is employed by regarding the music data for the portable digital acoustic machine as source so that the limitation that the existing game machine depends heavily on the previously registered game contents can be overcome. By making it possible to play games for all the music and putting an emphasis on multimedia trend only to listen to the music, it is speculated that it can contribute to the development of the new culture in the near future.

Although the $6^{th}$ industry of agriculture, the subject of this research, is a policy that is implemented nationwide, the result or its performance can vary depending on judgment and basic plan of the local government concerned. To overcome this, support of the central government and provincial governments is important, but each rural family, rural area or management unit also has to grasp the reality fast and overcome it through voluntary participation. In addition, local governments of the nation should operate this project efficiently by implementing required support and policies in each field. Local governments should also promote revitalization of local economy by providing help to rural families and management units that implement the $6^{th}$ industry of agriculture through expert consulting, matching of funding paths, and deregulation.

Articles on fashion of major daily newspapers for about one years after I.M.F. system were analyzed. The influence of I.M.F. system, values, the importance of costumes at economic crisis were studied through fashion at that time. The major conclusions of the study are as follows : 1. Costumes made in Korea, national brands In Korean words, practical styles, multi-functional design, economic tastes and mixed fashions were emphasized. 2. The sound and patriotic values were pursued through domestic fashion and creative ideas were developed to overcome economic crisis. 3. The meaning of costumes was still important under shrink of consumption. Costumes were useful tools to estimate ability and express aesthetic appreciation. The sound fashion trends under I.M.F. system reflect the reflection on overconsume and the will to overcome economic crisis. Such trends should be fixed for the establishment of economic prosperity for the nation.

Like the saying "You can't manage what you can't measure," performance measurement is considered as one of the most important management activities for the organizations in either private or public sector. Performance measurement, however, has thus far relied too much on financial statements. Realizing the importance of a more scientific and comprehensive performance measurement, many organizations have adopted several different systems in order to objectively estimate their balanced performance results. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) has become a popular means to measure performance. But the BSC has also received some criticisms. In this paper four limitations in the use of the BSC are discussed : BSCs focus on unidirectional causality, are unable to distinguish delays between actions and their impacts on performance, integrate insufficiently strategy with operational measures, and lead to internal biases. We propose a system dynamics approach with causal loop diagram(CLD) to develop a Dynamic BSC in order to overcome these limitations. The results suggest that developing a BSC with system dynamics is a promising approach to supplement existing BSC frameworks.

This paper is designed to characterize the concept of flexibility of mind and analyze relationship between flexibility of mind and divergent thinking in view of mathematical problem solving. This study shows that flexibility of mind is characterized by two constructs, ability to overcome fixed mind in stage of problem understanding and ability to shift a viewpoint in stage of problem solving process, Through the analysis of writing test, we come to the conclusion that students who overcome fixed mind surpass others in divergent thinking and so do students who are able to shift a viewpoint.

The growing concerns on environmental protection have been constantly demanding cleaner and more energy efficient vehicles without compromising any conveniences provided by the conventional vehicles. The recent significant advances in proton-exchange-membrane (PEM) fuel cell technology have shown the possibility of developing such vehicles powered by fuel cells. Several prototype fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) have been already developed by several major automotive manufactures, and all of the favorable features have been demonstrated in the public roads. FCEV is essentially a zero emission vehicle and allows to overcome the range limitation of the current battery electric vehicles. Being motivated by the laboratory and field demonstrations of the fuel cell technologies, variety of fuel cell alliances between fuel cell developers, automotive manufactures, petroleum companies and government agencies have been formed to expedite the realization of commercially viable FCEV. However, there still remain major issues that need to be overcome before it can be fully accepted by consumers. This paper describes the current fuel cell vehicle development status and the staggering challenges for the successful introduction of consumer acceptable FCEVS.

It is difficult to know how to restrict the amount of water supply in the drought season, because there is no objective standard rules. The purpose of the study is to present management rules to overcome the drought in the irrigation reservoir by forecasting the water level and restricting water supply according to the operation rule curve and the pattern of rotation-irrigation system. From the operation rule curve drawn up by analyzing the observed water level of reservoir, the water supply rules and rotation-irrigation patterns using WWW and GIS are suggested.

Delivery of therapeutic protein drugs is a hot issue in the clinical application, because protein drugs have low side effects and highly therapeutic effects compared with chemical drugs. Despite their prominent advantages, protein drugs have high risk for human therapy such as their easy degradation by proteolytic enzymes, renal filtration and immune response. Over the past few decades, a large number of polysaccharides as vehicles for the protein delivery system have been developed to overcome the problems. This review presents the studies on protein delivery based on polysaccharides used as stabilizer and vehicles comprising nano- or microspheres to overcome inherent limitations of therapeutic proteins.

Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) has been successfully applied for dimension reduction in face recognition. However, LDA requires the transformation of a face image to a one-dimensional vector and this process can cause the correlation information among neighboring pixels to be disregarded. On the other hand, 2D-LDA uses 2D images directly without a transformation process and it has been shown to be superior to the traditional LDA. Nevertheless, there are some problems in 2D-LDA. First, it is difficult to determine the optimal number of feature vectors in a reduced dimensional space. Second, the size of rectangular windows used in 2D-LDA makes strong impacts on classification accuracies but there is no reliable way to determine an optimal window size. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm to overcome those problems in 2D-LDA. We adopt an ensemble approach which combines several classifiers obtained by utilizing various window sizes. And a practical method to determine the number of feature vectors is also presented. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can overcome the difficulties with choosing an optimal window size and the number of feature vectors.

Objectives: The US ranks ninth in obesity in the world, and approximately 7% of US adults experience major depressive disorder. Social isolation due to the stigma attached to obesity might trigger depression. Methods: This paper examined the impact of obesity on depression. To overcome the endogeneity problem, we constructed pseudopanel data using the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System from 1997 to 2008. Results: The results were robust, and body mass index (BMI) was found to have a positive effect on depression days and the percentage of depressed individuals in the population. Conclusions: We attempted to overcome the endogeneity problem by using a pseudo-panel approach and found that increases in the BMI increased depression days (or being depressed) to a statistically significant extent, with a large effect size.
