Conventional fault tree analysis has several problems as the estimations and tolerances of the failure probability values. To overcome these problems, fuzzy concepts with natural language can be applied to conventional fault tree analysis. And, we propose the evaluation method of the imprecision of top/basic events and possibility importances of basic events.

In this paper, we present an interference problem among elemental images in computational integral imaging reconstruction. To overcome the interference problem, we propose a method to calculate a minimum magnification factor and the preliminary experiments are performed.

In this paper, digital autopilot design methods are investigated and a new method is suggested in order to improve existing problems. The method is based on .delta. transform (1) and overcome numerical problems occurring in the process of discretization. We illustrate design procedures using .delta. transform and suggest a hardware and software structure for digital autopilot implemented by microprocessor.

A fuzzy logic controller with rule modification capability is proposed to overcome the difficulty of obtaining control rules from the human operators. This new SOC algorithm modifies control rules by a fuzzy inference machine utilizing data base. Computer simulation results show good performances on both a linear system and a nonlinear system.

The objective of this paper is to outline an integrated cellular manufacturing system (ICMS) which integrates process planning and scheduling in the cellular manufacturing environment. It combines design systems with manufacturing systems in batch production. Furthermore, it is developed to overcome the difficulties that exist in the current manufacturing practices.

The pulse tube cooler as an alternative of Stirling, G-M or VM cooler to overcome the requirement from the various application fields is described. The necessity of the object oriented cooler development is explained to realize the cryocooler of more energy-efficient, more reliable, more compact and less expensive than what is currently available commercially.
