  • A train having a system which tilts the train body to reduce the lateral acceleration experienced by passengers when operating around curves, allowing the train to run at higher speeds through curves than non-tilting trains. A tilting train may have a maximum design service cant deficiency of up to $8^{\circ}$. In this case there is, at worst, a margin of only $6^{\circ}$ cant deficiency between a train travelling at enhanced permissible speed and its roll-over resistance. This is a significant reduction in the margin against overturning compared to that offered at permissible speeds. Particular consideration therefore needs to be given to the adequacy of the margin and the additional controls against overturning required when trains travel at enhanced permissible speeds. This paper deals with the speed supervision system of tilting train through curves.

Real time trajectory control for two wheeled mobile robot under dynamic environments

  • In this paper, a method of generating trajectories in real time for a mobile robot in a dynamic environment is proposed. Specifically, this method is focused on soccer-playing robots that need to calculate trajectories in real time, which are constantly subject to rapidly change as targets and obstacles move. The robots also should move at the fastest available speed, while tracking the generated trajectories. The method proposed in this paper solves the geometric problem of finding a smooth curve that joins two endpoints. To have this solved, we assign five constraints to each endpoint, which are the usual x, y, theta, and curvature as well as the influence of the initial robot velocity on the path. Co/Co+Ni 성분의 분말 소결 금속과 탄소강의 레이저 용접성에 대한 고찰 ($CO_2$ Laser Weldability Between Sintered Co, Co+Ni alloy and Carbon Steel)

  • The weldability of dissimilar materials between sintered materials which are consisted of Co, Co+Ni and carbon steel has been investigated using CO$_2$ laser. Autogeneous CO$_2$ laser welding were run along the butt between two alloys using sets of parameters variation-power and travel speed. In order to study weldability, mechanical tests (bending strength test, microhardness test) and metallurgical analyses (microstructure, phase transformation, fracture mode) were carried out. From the results obtained, it was found that the porosity which exists in a weld metal greatly affects the soundness of the weld. The optimum energy input to have a proper strength over than the requirement by a specification, found to be around 0.3-0.35kJ/m. There are two kinds of fracture mode in the weld metal, depending upon alloy combination, brittle fracture in the case of Co-carbon steel and a ductile fracture in the case of Co+Ni-carbon steel. In general, Co+Ni sintered material showed a better weld properties as compared to the Co sintered material.

효율적 수배송을 위한 배차계획시스템의 개발 (A Vehicle Scheduling System for Efficient Delivery)

  • This study is to develop a vehicle scheduling system for the efficient delivery of goods to places of business. For gathering data and testing the system developed, we have chosen a company which is located in Taegu city and has more than 700 delivery points over Taegu city and Kyungbuk province. We consider multiple vehicle types, travel time restrictions on vehicles, vehicle acceptance restrictions at delivery points, and other operational restrictions. We divide the whole delivery points into 44 regions and generate a region-based shortest path tree. Based on the shortest path tree, we perform vehicle assignment sequentially for each vehicle used. Then vehicle routings are determined. We have implemented the whole procedure on computer system. The system developed is flexible enough to be applicable to other companies by just changing the standard data.

국제의료관광 소비자의 선택속성에 관한 연구 (Choice Attributes of International Medical Tourism Consumers)

  • It is necessary to develop new competitive products under the world economic downturn. The medical tourism industry a good example and it has grown rapidly for last couple of years. This paper aims to investigate socio-demographic proxies of inbound medical tourists in Korea. In particular, the medical tourist behaviors are modeled by considering the factors such as acquisition process of medical tourism information, service level of medical tourism industry and the choice attributes. The results of this study are summarized that: 1) Moot inbound medical tourists are over 40-years old with professional occupation accompanied with families; 2) The information resources are mainly acquired from travel agents and WOM(Word of Mouth) such as friends and relatives; 3) Current problems are lack of various promotion channels and the competitiveness of medical coots; 4) The inbound medical tourists are not homogeneous but vary in different segments. The study suggests that various marketing strategies should be implemented for target market segments to promote Korea as a medical tourism hub.

실시간 대기오염 지도 작성을 위한 분산형 건강인지 자전거 시스템 구현 (Implementation of Distributed Health-aware Bicycle System for Making Real-time Air-pollution Map)

  • This paper presents an environmental navigation system which provides a guidance to the users of smart bicycle for a pollution-free route during their travel. The smart bicycle operates as a sensor node being composed of a distributed wireless sensor network over the whole urban area. Several environmental sensors measuring the amount of dust, CO, $CO_2$, $NO_2$ in the air are built into the smart bicycle to estimate the level of air pollution in the located area. Each smart bicycle sends/receives the measured sensor data and the city pollution map to/from the centralized server, which leads the bike-riders to a healthy route by providing the environmental navigation information. The proposed idea and its implementation give a useful insight on various application services with the distributed smart bicycles.

O Valor Documental dos Balangandãs: Uma Análise Simbólica e Formal

  • The purpose of this article is to present the potential of balangandãs as a documentary source for intersectional studies of gender and slavery, from the analysis of formal and symbolic aspects of the museum objects in the Museu Nacional Nacional (MHN) and Museu Carlos Costa Pinto (MCCP). Balangandãs are a type of creole jewelry, made in gold or silver and used in Brazil since the 18th century by black women - women who worked, especially in the commercialization of foodstuffs in large urban centers. They are described in printed sources and engravings, and preserved in some museum institutions. In the study, the meanings attributed to the object over the centuries are observed: jewelry, amulet, peculium, document, travel memory and heritage. As a result, the article seeks to highlight the objects as a historical and documentary source, verifying similarities between the pieces musealized at the MHN and at the MCCP, also emphasizing the documental power of the pieces produced today.

Panspermia in a Milky Way-like Galaxy

  • We study the process of panspermia in Milky Way-like galaxies by modeling the probability of successful travel of organic compounds between stars harboring potentially habitable planets. To this end, we apply the modified habitability recipe of Gobat & Hong (2016) to a model galaxy from the MUGS suite of zoom-in cosmological simulations. We find that, unlike habitability, which only occupies narrow dynamic range over the entire galaxy, the panspermia probability can vary be orders of magnitude between the inner (R, b = 1~4 kpc) and outer disk. However, only a small fraction of star particles have very large values of panspermia probability and, consequently, the fraction of star particles where the panspermia process is more effective than prebiotic evolution is much lower than from naïve expectations based on the ratio between panspermia probability and natural habitability. The lunar surface progressively darkens and reddens as a result of sputtering from solar wind particles and bombardment of micrometeoroids. The extent of exposure to these space weathering agents is frequently calculated as the location in a diagram of reflectance at 750 nm

  • In this study, we developed a method to quantify urban social costs using mobile sensing data, providing a novel approach to urban planning. By collecting and analyzing extensive mobile data over time, we transformed travel patterns into measurable social costs. Our findings highlight the effectiveness of big data in urban planning, revealing key correlations between transportation modes and their associated social costs. This research not only advances the use of mobile data in urban planning but also suggests new directions for future studies to enhance data collection and analysis methods.

  • 기후변화에 대응하여 수송부문의 탄소배출 저감노력이 세계적인 이슈가 되고 있다. 특히, 지역단위의 수송부문 탄소배출 저감전략의 수립 및 효율 집행을 위해서는 정밀한 탄소배출 인벤토리 구축은 필수적이나, 현재 도로교통의 특성과 수단의 다양성, 통행패턴의 복잡성 등 자료수집 한계로 신뢰성 있는 지역단위 인벤토리는 개략적 산정에 그치고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 이와 같은 문제점을 극복하기 위해 국가교통DB의 자료를 활용하여 지역단위 도로교통 탄소배출 인벤토리 구축 방법론을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 국가교통DB포함 자료 중 $CO_2$ 관련 속성을 파악하고, 이에 적합한 $CO_2$ 산정식을 도출하여 인벤토리 모형을 구축하였다. 구축된 모형의 적용성을 검토하기 위해 부산시를 사례로 2008년도 기준 도로부문의 탄소배출량을 산정하여 기존 연구결과와 비교분석하였다. 또한, 연구의 결과를 기초로 더욱 정밀한 인벤토리 구축을 위한 향후 연구방향을 제시하였다.
