환상형 분산전원 단지 보호를 위한 전압제어 과전류 계전기 (Voltage-controlled Over-current Relay for Loop-connected Distributed Generators)

  • A protection algorithm using a voltage-controlled overcurrent element for a looped collection circuit in a wind farm is suggested in this paper. Because the proposed algorithm uses voltage relaying signals as well as current relaying signals, any fault in the looped collection circuit can be cleared by voltage-controlled overcurrent relays located at the two adjacent relaying points, the nearest place in each direction from the fault point. The algorithm can also distinguish the external faults which occur at the outside of a wind farm from the internal faults. It means that the proposed algorithm can provide the proper ability of protection coordination to the relays in the looped collection circuits of a large wind farm. The performance of the proposed algorithm is verified under various fault conditions using PSCAD/EMTDC simulations.

  • 수배전분야는 고압 수배전반, 저압 수배전반, 모터 컨트롤 센터(motor control center; MCC)로 구성되며, MCC는 모터의 운전 및 정지를 할 수 있고, 이상상황 발생 시 비상정지 및 이상 상황에 대한 통보를 할 수 있도록 전자식 모터보호계전기(electronic over current relay; EOCR)가 사용되고 있다. 기존 EOCR은 과전류, 부족전류, 결상, 역상, 전류 불평형, 지락과 같은 전기적 결함 탐지는 가능하지만, 구속보호, 모터 고정자 및 회전자, 베어링 결함과 같은 기계적 결함은 탐지가 어렵다. 본 논문에서는 모터의 전기적, 기계적 결함을 탐지하기 위해 기존 EOCR의 전기적 결함 탐지에 기계적 결함 탐지를 결합하여 회전기기 보호장치를 위한 전기적인 결함과 기계적인 결함을 통합적으로 탐지할 수 있는 시스템을 제안한다. 회전기기 결함탐지를 위한 신호입력부 및 제어부, 시스템 인터페이스, 데이터 획득장치를 설계하였으며, 절연저항 측정, 모터 구속 측정 및 제어, MC 카운터 및 베어링 온도 측정 및 제어를 통해 전기적 결함과 기계적 결함 탐지가 가능하였다.

  • To prevent maloperation during magnetic inrush and over-excitation, a current differential relay for power transformers uses harmonic current based restraining or blocking scheme; it also uses dual slope characteristics to prevent maloperation for an external fault with CT saturation. This paper proposes a current differential relaying algorithm for power transformers with an advanced compensation algorithm for the secondary current of CTs. The comparative study was conducted with and without the compensating algorithm. The algorithm can reduce the operating time of the relay in the case of an internal fault and improve security for external faults.

  • This paper presents the new technique of modeling using Dynamic Link Library(DLL) in ElectroMagnetic Transients Program - Restructured Version(EMTP-RV) in which we have simplified the procedures of OverCurrent Relay(OCR) modeling. The DLL function is designed to allow EMTP-RV users to develop advanced program model modules and interface them directly and intimately with the EMTP-RV engine. The modeled OCR is verified by simulating the various fault cases in the distribution system. Also, the performance for the modeling of OCR using DLL is compared with that of the method using the control components of EMTP-RV and using EMTP/MODELS. The results show the validity of modeled OCR and the effectiveness of the method using DLL function.

  • In this paper, the communication between Over-Current Relay agents is realized using DNP(Distributed Network Protocol), which is the standard communication protocol of distribution automation system in KEPKO. The key words in OCR agent communication are defined and represented by use of DNP application function code. And the DNP index for OCR agent is defined. The proposed communication scheme is tested by use of Communication Test Harness, a test tool for DNP protocol to show its soundness.

  • 본 연구에서는 전력계통에서 배전반 자동화 장치중 하나인 ACB(air circuit breaker) controller로 사용되는 OCR(Over Current Protection Relay)의 지능화와 성능개선을 모색하고자 한다. 개발된 이 장치는 전력계통에서 전류의 흐름을 지능화 알고리즘으로 감시하여 최적으로 사고를 방지할 수 있으며, 대화형의 다양한 기능과 통신기능을 내장하고 있어 원격제어 및 관리가 가능하는 특징을 포함한다.

  • In this paper, accelerated stress test(AST) for Magnetic Switch (MS) are applied to assure specified reliability of the products. Magnetic contactor that functions with over-current relay is called MS. Magnetic contactor closes and opens the motor load with ON/OFF switch of electronic contactor. It is also used for protecting and controlling the load. Magnetic contactor detects the over-current flow in the load with a over-current relay and disconnects the load by opening its control power. In this study, AST for product assembly are developed in order to improve the weak point so that increase the product reliability. Also we will show the basic information for the accelerated life test(ALT). The proposed AST results and procedures may be extended and applied to testing similar kinds of products to reduce test times and costs of the tests remarkably. Finally the results of this study will contribute to improving reliability of products and strengthening competitiveness of our products in the world markets.

  • In this paper, accelerated life test (ALT) models and procedures for Magnetic Switch (MS) are developed and applied to assure specified reliability of the products at development phase and guarantee the life of the products. Magnetic contactor that functions with over-current relay is called MS. Magnetic contactor closes and opens the motor load with ON/OFF switch of electronic contactor. It is also used for protecting and controlling the load. Magnetic contactor detects the over-current flow in the load with a over-current relay and disconnects the load by opening its control power. In this study, ALT models for MS are developed using the relationship between stresses and life characteristics of products. Using the ALT models, we performed life tests and analyzed the tests results. The proposed ALT models and procedures may be extended and applied to testing similar kinds of products to reduce test times and costs of the tests remarkably. Finally the results of this study will contribute to improving reliability of products and strengthening competitiveness of our products in world markets.

무부하 충전케이블 개방시 잔류전압에의한 과전압계전기 동작현상 연구 (A Study of Over Voltage Ground Relay Operation Status at Opening of No-load Charged Cable)

  • Fault current is flowed into 154/23kV M. Tr when line-to-ground fault occurs in power system. NGR(Neutral Grounded Reactor) is set up in order to prevent M.Tr fault by limiting magnitude of fault currents. Here, disconnection of NGR causes voltage increase by L-C resonance and line-to-ground fault in an unearthed system results in voltage increase at healthy phases. So Over Voltage Ground Relay(OVGR) is used for tripping M.Tr. Also, buses at second phases of M.Trs are all connected with section circuit breakers closed for the purpose of parallel operation and load shedding. In case of speciality buses are comprised of power cable in part for GIS connection. When no-load charged cable or bus is open by a section CB, unbalanced voltage charged on the bus is induced. Also discrepant opening time for circuit breakers on different phases gives rise to unbalanced zero sequence voltage. It was observed that this zero sequence voltage detected in the 22.9kV P.T (Potential Transformer for bus) mal-operated 59GT and tripped M.Tr. The zero sequence voltage of which vanishing time is longer than relay operating time came out by EMTDC simulation. Also, it was shown that the voltage waves of actual test are similar to those of simulation. On the basis of above results, R-C circuit complement on the relay without any effect on a power system made operating time of the relay longer than vanishing time of distorted waves. Consequently, operating time of the relay was delayed and magnitude of distorted waves was decreased by increasing time constant of the relay.

  • The conventional current transformers are often take faults and out of order that for detect to over current of electric power lines because electromagnetic interference. But, it is possible to implement protection relay of high reliability using optical magnetic field sensor which are immunity and small size. The optical magnetic field sensor is possible to rapidly detect to over current and recover when electric power line have fault. And it is not necessary to make with capacitance of electric power lines as optical magnetic field sensor is have linearity from 0 to about 20kA. In this study, we designed and constructed compensative feedback circuit in order to minimize of optical power intensity variation with environ- mental variations(temperature, drive current) of light source. And this system have highest optical advantages and reliability.
