Outsourcing services in Korea tourist hotel business have never contributed to their basic concepts such as 1) maintenance or enhancement of core competences, 2) promotion of business efficiency through service quality improvement and expense retrenchment, and 3) achievement or enhancement of competitive advantage through enlarging their specialties, cultivating their market, learning new knowledge, and developing their asset. Therefore, this study is to insist on fife necessity of overcoming simple repetitive service outsourcing in tourist hotel business. In order to build a core competence and/or achieve a competitive advantage, the scopes of outsourcing services should be enlarged in Korea tourist hotel business.

This research investigates impacts of outsourcing HRIS on corporate culture. In this paper, we hypothesize that outsourcing corporate HRIS is less appealing (1) if the quality of product and customer service matters for a firm, (2) if a firm is concerned with a loss of intellectual property, and (3) if a firm requires maintenance of a distinctive human resource service function that is capable of meeting the challenges of fast changing customer demands in a dynamic business environment. In addition, this study argues companies must be aware of the total costs associated with HRIS before outsourcing its human resource functions. Finally, the impact on employee morale and performance must also be considered By outsourcing HRIS, managers will be able to spend more time and resources dedicated to an employee's professional career development.

The questionnaire was composed of 14 factors about outsourcing effect. The questionnaires were selected for finial analysis 67 apparel makers in Pusan and Seoul and data was analysed by using paired t-test by SPSS program. Almost of apparel makers (85.07%) has been outsourced the sewing process to contractor or vendor. Outsourcing in this case is marked lower effect than insourcing except reducing cost, economy of time and overcoming internal resources. • The purpose of this study is to verify what kind of influence do strategic factors (clarification of outsourcing goals, clarification of outsourcing scope, co-sourcing, management of supply businesses, and human resource participation) have on marketing performance factors (improvement of service quality, customer satisfaction, and improvement of employees' ability). Another purpose is to examine whether the influence of strategic factors of outsourcing on marketing performance differ depending on the outsourcing motives and the degree of human resources outsourcing. Hypothesis of influences of strategic factors of outsourcing on marketing performance is verified. The study shoes that co-sourcing has a significant influence on improvement of service quality, participation of human resources on improvement of service quality and employees' ability, and management of supply businesses on customer satisfaction and improvement of employees' ability. • There is a growing trend for asset intensive industries to outsource maintenance services of their complex assets since outsourcing through service contract reduces upfront investments in infrastructure, expertise and specialised maintenance facilities. Estimation of costs for such contracts is complex and it is important to the user and the service providers for economic variability. The service provider's profit is influenced by many factors such as the terms of the contract, reliability of asset, and the servicing strategies, costs of resources needed to carryout maintenance. There is a need to develop mathematical models for understanding future costs to build it into the contract price. Three policies for service contracts are proposed in this paper considering the concepts of outsourcing maintenance service of assets to the service providers. Conceptual models are developed for estimating servicing costs of outsourcing through service contracts by considering time dependent failure mode.

  • For linear projects, it has long been known that resource utilization is important in improving work efficiency. However, most existing scheduling techniques cannot satisfy the need for solving such issues. This paper presents an optimization model for solving linear scheduling problems involving resource assignment tasks. The proposed model adopts constraint programming (CP) as the searching algorithm for model formulation, and the proposed model is designed to optimize project total cost. Additionally, the concept of outsourcing resources is introduced here to improve project performance.

  • In the current fast-growing market economy, the accounting-outsourcing trend of small and medium-sized enterprises is on the increase. Studies from both foreign and domestic sources have shown that many factors influence this decision. However, each country has different economic and political characteristics, so these factors and their degree of impact on accounting outsourcing also vary. This study aimed to determine the factors affecting the decision to outsource accounting activities of small and medium transport enterprises in Vietnam. A survey of 384 transport SMEs was conducted using the convenience sampling method. A personal interview with owners/managers/CFOs in 3 major cities of Vietnam based on a research review was conducted. The model examines the influence of many independent variables on accounting outsourcing. The multilinear regression analysis shows that the higher the Assets Specificity, the lower the degree of accounting outsourcing. In addition, the degree of outsourcing is positively and significantly related to frequency and trust in accountants. Besides, when we include control variables such as gender, administrative level, firm size, company age, education, and experience into the model. The results show that small and medium enterprises with limited resources should switch from the traditional internal accounting method to a professional accountant with external knowledge. Based on this study, the author proposes several implications for the accounting outsourcing of small and medium-sized transport enterprises in Vietnam to be more effective. Finally, this study also contributes to the basic knowledge of accounting outsourcing.

We also investigated the outcome and the level of satisfaction for adopting outsourcing in these hospitals. Types of work areas that were currently operated by outsourcing and were planned to adopt outsourcing in the future were identified. A total of 83 hospitals were eligible for this study, which had more than 500 beds, and were identified from the 2003 National Hospital List published by the Korean Hospital Association. A self-administered Questionnaire survey was conducted between April 25th and May 20th in 2003 with a personnel being charged of arrangement of outsourcing in each hospital. Among the 58 hospitals responding the survey(response rate=69.9%), 49 hospitals(84.5%) utilized outsourcing in at least one work field in their organizations. The largest proportion of the hospitals(85.7%) using outsourcing responded that the biggest outcome after introducing outsourcing were cost reduction(49.0%), followed by improved efficiency in operating the organization or human resources(34.7%) and the improved quality of the work(6.1%). The degree of satisfaction for outsourcing among the hospital managers(3.43) was significantly higher than that among the employees(3.l4) on a S-point Likert-type scale(p<0.05). Among the 7 work areas, the hospitals used outsourcing most frequently in facility management(housekeeping, building maintenance, hospital security and parking management), followed by non-medical profit business(funeral, convenient store, and cafeteria), logistics(provision of patient meal, in-house delivery, and purchasing), and information and computing system(hospital information system, maintenance of personal computers and printers). The work areas that the hospitals planned to adopt or expand the outsourcing in the future most frequently were facility management, non-medical profit business, logistics, and information and computing systems. In conclusion, outsourcing was highly diffused in large Korean hospitals, particularly in the work field of facility management and non-medical profit business.
