모려분을 이용한 한의학적 항스트레스성 기능보조제 개발 (Development of Health Assistances for Anti Stress used with Ostreae Concha)

  • Ostreae concha is natural products of sea that haves good function for anti-stress. WE observed the effect of Otreae concha, Yukkwooltang and yukwool-tang add Ostreae concha for catecholamine, GOT, GPT, LDH and TG after immobilization stress, Ostreae concha depressed the stress response. In immunohistochemical analysis, The area of withe pulp of the spleen decreased in the control groups as compared with control ones. At same time, more severe histological changes of spleen such as the decreased diameter of periarterial lymphoid sheath and splenic node were demonstrated in the rats challenged with emotional stress. But these changes were slightly recovered in rats pretreated with Sample I, Sample II and Sample III. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that the expression of the inflammation-related protein tended to increase. But a decline of these expression, especially TNF-${\alpha}$ by pretreated with Sample I, were observed in the red pulp of spleen of the experimental rats. These results suggest that ostreae concha may act as a therapeutic agent for stress disease through a regulation of stress-related hormones.

역류성 식도염 생쥐 모델에서 해표초, 와릉자, 모려와 Esomeprazole의 치료효과에 대한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Sepiae Os, Arcae Concha, Ostreae Concha and Esomeprazole in a Mouse Model of Reflux Esophagitis)

  • Objectives: This aim of this study is to compare the reflux esophagitis improvement effects of Sepiae Os, Arcae Concha, Ostreae Concha, and Proton Pump Inhibitor(esomeprazole) through rat experiments. Methods: NO production inhibitory effect was measured by NO production amount and iNOS mRNA expression level in cell lines. iNOS, $TNF-{\alpha}$ and $p-I{\kappa}B$, and serotonin were compared using immunohistochemistry at the rat reflux esophagitis. Reflux esophagitis connection external form, lower esophageal sphincter, and gap were observed and an esophageal inflammatory indicator, IL-6 activity was also evaluated by immunohistochemistry. Results: NO production and iNOS mRNA expression was showed concentration dependent decrease in cell lines treated with Sepiae OS, Arcae Concha, and Ostreae Concha at the experiments of cell lines. In the suppression of iNOS and $p-I{\kappa}B$ at the rat reflux esophagitis, Sepiae Os treat group(SOT) and Ostreae Concha treat group(OCT) were more effective. In the increase of serotonin at the rat reflux esophagitis, ACT, MT and OCT were more effective. Damage of lower esophageal sphincter, and gap between esophageal keratin and mucosa were observed less at the SOT, ACT, OCT. In the suppression of IL-6 at the rat reflux esophagitis, SOT and OCT were more effective than GE and, SOT was more effective than MT significantly. Conclusions: The anti-inflammatory effect was the best in the SOT and lower esophageal sphincter muscle contraction was the best in the ACT at the rat reflux esophagitis. Sepiae OS was more effective than esomeprazole in the suppression of iNOS, $TNF-{\alpha}$, and IL-6.

조루(早漏)의 외치법(外治法)에 대(對)한 문헌적(文獻的) 고찰(考察) (The literatual study on the external treatment of premature ejaculation)

  • According to the literatual study on the external treatment of premature ejaculation, the results were as follows. 1. Linition is inunction glans penis after infiltrate ASARI HERBA CUM RADICE(細辛), CARYOPHYLLI FLOS(丁香), CHEBULAE FRUCTUS(訶子), PAPAVERIS FRUCTUS(罌粟殼), FOSSILIA OSSIS MASTODI(龍骨), OSTREAE CONCHA(牡蠣 in oenostagma. 2. Retrojection or hypoatmism method is boiling CHINENSIS GALLA(五倍子), CNIDII FRUCTUS(蛇牀子) and hypoatmism, down temperature infiltrate glans penis. 3. Mesompharion apposition method is calorization VESPAE NIDUS(露蜂房), ANGELICAE DAHARICAE RADIX(白芷), and utilization vineger apposite mesompharion. 4. Medicament belt method is belt on lumbus and bythus by ROSAE LAEVIGATAE FRUCTUS(金櫻子), EURYALES SEMEN, OSTREAE CONCHA(牡蠣), TRIBULI FRUCTUS, AIPINIAE OXYPHYLLAE FRUCTUS(益智仁), NELUMBINIS SEMEN(蓮子肉) Powders. 5. Enema is injection in the rectum ANGELICAE GIGANTIS RADIX(當歸) effusion. 6. Much utilization agent are ASARI HERBA CUM RADICE(細辛), CHINENSIS GALLA(五倍子), OSTREAE CONCHA(牡蠣), CNIDII FRUCTUS(蛇床子), GRANATI PERICARPIUM(石榴皮), CARYOPHYLLI FLOS(丁香), CHEBULAE FRUCTUS(訶子), FOSSILIA OSSIS MASTODI(龍骨), VESPAE NIDUS(露蜂房), PAPAVERIS FRUCTUS(罌粟殼) etc. They are occupied in adstringentia, juventia, divergence agent, liver stabilizer agent.

B16 멜라닌 세포에서 해양소재 추출물의 멜라닌 생성 저해 효과 (Inhibitory Effects of Marine Natural Products on Melanogenesis in B16 Melanoma Cells)

  • Objectives : Under normal condition melanin protects the skin from extracellular stimuli including ultraviolet (UV)-induced oxidative skin damages, but excess production and accumulation of melanin can induce hyperpigmentation causing esthetic problems. Therefore, in this study we tried to search for natural skin whitening materials from marine natural resources. Methods : Water and ethanol extracts of marine natural resources were prepared from Porphyra thalli (PT), Laminariae thallus (LT), Ostreae concha (OC), Sargassum thallus (ST), Undaria thallus (UT), Codium thalli (CT), Enteromorpha thalli (ET), Syngnathoides biaculeatus (SB), and Hippocampus coronatus (Hc). Their effects against UVB and ${\alpha}$-melanocyte stimulating hormone (${\alpha}$-MSH)-induced melanogenesis were investigated based on melanin formation in B16 mouse melanoma cells. The mRNA and protein expression of enzymes involved in the melanogenic process were further examined by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blot analysis, respectively. Results : Water extract of Ostreae concha (OCW/E) effectively inhibited UVB and ${\alpha}$-MSH-induced melanin production in B16 melanocytes, which seemed to be mediated by inhibition of mRNA expression of tyrosinase and tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TRP-1). In another experiment, ethanol extracts from Porphyra thalli (PTE/E), Laminariae thallus (LTE/E), Sargassum thallus (STE/E), Undaria thallus (UTE/E), Codium thalli (CTE/E), Syngnathoides biaculeatus (SBE/E), and Hippocampus coronatus (HcE/E) significantly suppressed UVB and ${\alpha}$-MSH-induced melanin formation. Furthermore, ethylacetate fraction isolated form LTE/E (LTE/EEt) decreased UVB and ${\alpha}$-MSH-elevated extracellular melanin levels via inhibition of tyrosinase protein expression. Conclutions : These results suggest that marine natural resources such as Porphyra thalli, Laminariae thallus, Ostreae concha, Sargassum thallus, Undaria thallus, Codium thalli, Syngnathoides biaculeatus and Hippocampus coronatus have anti-melanogenic effects, thereby exhibiting high potentials to be utilized as one of the ingredients for the development of new whitening functional cosmetics.

도한(盜汗)환자의 외치(外治) 치험 1례 (A Case Report on a Patient with Night Sweats Treated with an External Korean Medical Treatment)

  • Objective: The case study assessed the possibility of improving symptoms by external treatment in a patient complaining of night sweats who could not take oral herbal medicine. Methods: Chinensis galla, Ostreae concha, and Cinnabaris were mixed in a 2:1:1 ratio and applied to CV8 before the patient went to bed. The treatment was removed upon waking and repeated every night. If itchiness and skin redness occurred, the position was changed to 2-3 cm up or down from the navel or application was changed to once every two days. Results: The external treatment eliminated the symptoms of sweating in the arms, legs, chest, and abdomen and reduced sweating in the occipital and neck areas. The sweating was improved to the extent that it no longer interfered with daily life. Conclusions: This case study shows the possibility of using external treatments rather than herbal medicine to treat night sweats.

자외선으로 유도된 섬유아세포 손상에 대한 해양소재 추출물의 항산화 보호효과 (Protective Effect of Marine Natural Products against UVB-induced Damages in Human Skin Fibroblast via Antioxidant Mechanism)

  • 자외선은 생체 내 활성산소 생성 증가와 내인성 항산화 효소 및 항산화제 감소를 통하여 광노화 과정을 촉진하는 대표적인 외부 환경인자로 알려져 있다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 12종의 다양한 해양소재 추출물(김, 다시마, 모려, 모자반, 미역, 석결명, 청각, 해룡, 해마, 해삼, 파래, 톳)을 이용하여 기본적인 자유라디칼 소거능 실험을 바탕으로, 자외선 B 조사로 인한 세포독성 및 산화적 사멸을 억제하고 세포 내 항산화 기능을 강화시킬 수 있는 천연 항산화 피부보호소재를 발굴하고자 하였다. 해양소재 추출물의 라디칼 소거능을 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DppH) assay로 비교 측정한 결과 미역, 모자반, 다시마, 해마, 석결명 모려, 해룡의 순으로 항산화력을 나타내었다. 이후 in vitro 세포 실험에서 자외선 B를 섬유아세포주인 HS68 세포에 노출시킨 경우 세포 독성이 유발되어 사멸이 진행되었으며 이는 모자반, 석결명, 청각, 해마 열수 추출물을 처리한 경우 현저히 억제되었다. 특히, 자외선 B로 인한 세포손상은 세포 내 활성산소종의 축적으로 인한 것임을 2',7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (DCF-DA) 형광염색법으로 확인할 수 있었으며, 활성산소종의 생성은 모자반, 석결명, 청각, 해마 열수 추출물을 처리한 경우 유의적으로 감소되었다. 한편, 이러한 항산화 작용은 대표적인 내인성 항산화 효소인 catalase, superoxide dismutase 및 heme oxygenase-1의 발현 증가로 매개되었다. 이상의 결과는 모자만, 석결명, 정각, 해마 풍의 해양소재가 항산화 작용을 통하여 산화적 스트레스가 매개하는 피부손상과 노화과정을 예방 및 보호하는 새로운 화장품 천연소재로의 활용 가능성을 제시한다.

촉초(蜀椒)(천초(川椒)) 약대(藥對)에 관한 연구 (Study on Herb Pair of Zanthoxyli Fructus(Pericarpium Zanthoxyli))

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find out herb-pair prototype composed of Zanthoxyli Fructus, to examine compatibility regulation between them and to classify them into seven features of compatibility. Methods : To search usages of Zanthoxyli Fructus compatibility, we have investigated the classics of herb and prescription such as "五十二病方"(Fifty-two kinds of Diseases), "黃帝內經"(The Medical Classic of Yellow Emperor), "傷寒論"(Treatise on Febrile Caused by Cold), "金匱要略"(Synopsis of Prescriptions of The Golden), "附廣肘后方"(Handbook of Prescriptions for Emergencies), "本草綱目"(Compendium of Materia Medica), "得配本草"(Deukbae Materia Medica). Results : In these books Zanthoxyli Fructus was paired with below herbs; 桂(Cinnamomi Cortex), 薑(Zingiberis Rhizoma), 吳茱萸(Evodiae Fructus), 細辛(Asari Radix), 茴香(Foeniculi Fructus), 肉荳蔲(Cistanches Herba), 釜下土(Terba Flava Usta), 益智仁(Alpinae Oxyphyllae Fructus), 飴(Saccharum Granorum), 葱白(Allii Radix), 梨(Pyrus), 牙皂(Gleditsia Fructus), 杏仁(Armeniacae Amarum Semen), 蕎麥粉(Fagopyrum esculentum Moench), 胡粉(Minium), 白朮(Atractylodis Rhizoma White), 蒼朮(Atractylodis Rhizoma), 麻子仁(Cannabis Fructus), 大麥蘗(Hordei Fructus Germiniatus), 麴(Massa Medicata Fermentata), 生地黃(Rehmanniae Radix), 茯苓(Poria), 牡蛎(Ostreae Concha), 白礬(Alumen), 雄黃(Realgar), 烏頭(Aconiti Radix), 附子(Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix). Conclusions : Zanthoxyli Fructus herb-pair classified by seven features of compatibility are as follows; 1. Mutual reinforcement compatibility with : Cinnamomi Cortex, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Evodiae Fructus, Asari Radix, Foeniculi Fructus, Cistanches Herba, Terba Flava Usta, Alpinae Oxyphyllae Fructus, Saccharum Granorum, Allii Radix, Pyrus, Gleditsia Fructus. 2. Mutual assistance compatibility with : Armeniacae Amarum Semen, Fagopyrum esculentum Moench, Minium, Atractylodis Rhizoma White, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Cannabis Fructus, Hordei Fructus Germiniatus, Massa Medicata Fermentata, Rehmanniae Radix, Poria, Ostreae Concha, Alumen. 3. Mutual restraint compatibility with: Realgar, Aconiti Radix, Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix) 4. Mutual detoxication compatibility with: 桑汁(Juice of Mori Folium), 桑根汁(Juice of Morus Cortex), 大蒜(Allii Bulbus), 薺苨(Remotiflori Radix), 桂汁(Juice of Cinnamomi Cortex).

해양 유래 한약재의 여드름균에 대한 항균 효능 연구 (Antimicrobial activities of ethanolic extracts of marine resources against Propionibacterium acnes)

  • Objectives : Biological activities of marine resources have been rarely evaluated compared with other herbal medicines. In the present study, we aimed to evaluate antimicrobial activities of aqueous and ethanolic extracts of five marine resources(Porphyra tenera, Laminariae Thallus, Sargassum, Ostreae Concha, Maliotidis Concha) against Propionibacterium acnes. Methods : Aqueous axtracts of five marine resources were prepared by decocting in tenfold tap water for 3 h. Etanolic extracts were obtained by extracting five marine resources with tenfold ethanol for 72 h at room temperature. The zone of growth inhibition and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) were determined against P. acnes after incubation for 48 h under anaerobic condition. Results : Ethanolic extracts of Porphyra tenera exhibited potent antimicrobial effects(MIC $62.5\;{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ against KCTC3320, MIC $31.25\;{\mu}g/m{\ell}$ against KCTC5527). However, all aqueous extracts tested had no effects on the growth inhibition of P. acnes. In addition, four ethanolic extracts except Porphyra tenera showed little inhibitory effect. Conclusions : These results indicate that ethanolic extracts of Porphyra tenera has antimicrobial activities against P. acnes and also warrant further development of Porphyra tenera extracts as a natural anti-acne agent.

충기상충(衝氣上衝)에 대한 고찰(考察) 및 임상례(臨床例) (Bibliographic Study on the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely and Cases of Treatment)

  • Bibliographic study on the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely(衝氣上衝) through the oriental medical books was carried out. And the following results were obtained; 1. Etiological factors of the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely were failure of the kidney in receiving air(腎虛不納), transverse invasion of the hyperactive liver-qi (肝氣橫恣), insufficiency of the stomach-qi (胃氣虛弱), deficiency of the Front Midline Channelyin(任陰不足), etc. 2. Main symptom of the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely were upward adverseness of qi to the chest(氣上衝胸). 3. Therapeutic measures of the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely were relieving Chong Channel(鎭衝), astringing Chong Channel(斂衝), lowering the adverse flow of qi(降逆), tranquilizing Chong Channel(安衝). 4. Main durgs of the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely were Fluoritum, Haematitum, TuberPinelliae, Fossilia Ossis Masto야, Concha Ostreae, Flos Inulae, etc. 5. Main prescriptions of the qi of Chong Channel ascending adversely were Kangwijinchongtang(降胃鎭衝湯), Younggyeogamtang(?桂五甘湯), etc.

중풍(中風)의 치법(治法) 중(中) 평간법(平肝法)에 대(對)한 고찰(考察) (The Study on the Therapy of Pinggan with Apoplexy)

  • We had studied about the therapy of pinggan with apoplexy and the rusult were obtaind as follows. 1. The therapy of Pinggan is based on Treatise on Exogenous Febrile Diseases(傷寒論)'s ShaoyaoGancaoTang(芍藥甘草湯) on the ground of The Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic(黃帝內經). 2. Ye Tianshi(葉天士) theorized about the therapy of Pinggan. It was that the internal wind theory combind the theory of that liver and kidney having the same origin. He said that 'Through mild the liver, we calm down the liver to stop the wind, and nourish the kidney and then removed heat'. 3. The prodomal stage was treated by prescription of Ziyin-Huoxue-Xifeng(滋陰活血熄風方), WendanTang(溫膽湯), TianmaGoutongYin(天麻鉤藤飮) and ZhenganXifengTang(鎭肝熄風湯). and The therapy has been used to the symptoms of deficiendy of liver-yin and kidney-yin and psycotic symptoms In convalescence. The prescription of ZhenganXifengTang(鎭肝熄風湯), TianmaGoutongYin(天麻鉤藤飮), and DighuangYinzi(地黃飮子) waked well. 4. Internal cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral infarction, movement disorder and senile dementia were treated by the therapy of pinggan, for the action of hypotensor, lipolysis, ataralgesia, defervesence. 5. The medicines of Pinggan-Xifeng like Gastrodiae Rhizoma, Uncariae Ramulus Et Uncus, Scorpio, Bornbyx Batryticatus, Scolopendra, Saigae Tataricae Cornu, and Pinggan-qianyang like Haernatitum, Ostreae Concha, Margaritifera Usta Concha, Eretmochelyos Carapax, Tribuli Fructus were usually used.
