  • Recently, By the climatic change and increased resistance to antibiotics, diseases with atypical fever are increasing. FUO(Fever unknown origin) is defined' as fever persisting for $1{\sim}3weeks$ which origins are not found. through the reports of two clinical cases presenting FUO, I pretend to show the orient-medical and west-medical approachs to FUO.

  • New nonliner organic materials have been developed for all-optical signal processing. The organic materials possess many interesting features for this purpose. Unlike inorganic molecules the delocalized $\pi$-electron distribution and intramolecular charge transfer mevhanism allows certain organic molecules to respond highly anharmonically to an external field. In the present paper the origins of nonlinear phenomena, advantages of orgnic materials and structures of organic devices will be discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify and to trace the origins and meanings of sok (速) and bosal (菩薩). Comparative linguistic analytical approches were employed for this research. The analysis of this study indicted that sok (速) of Koryo was derived from sok (速) of Chinese. the phonetic value of sok (速) and sok (速) in Chinese are su⁴. The word sok (粟) refers to kok 곡 (穀) and kok (穀) refers to ra (羅). The bosal (菩薩) of Koroyo was related ot textile terminologies of many languages such as Hebrew, Mongolic, Manchu, Gilyak, Turkish and so on. Therefore, the bosal of Koryo was identified as a fabric term used in Koryo.

  • Lead zirconate titanate(PZT) thin films have been attracting worldwide interests in exploring their potential properties [1-3] or the origins [4-6] of their excellent dielectic, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB). PZT thin films are expected to apply to the memory devices, micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS), and display because of their superior ferroelectric, pyroelectric, piezoelectric and electron emission properties. In this study, high- performance piezoelectric PZT thin films for actuated mirror array and optical scanner were developed by controlling the several factors, such as molecular-designed precursor, seeding layer and the residual stress in films, by a chemical solution deposition (CSD).

  • Variation in diet and the rates of colorectal cancers have confounded researchers in recent years. Comparisons of populations in different geographic locations and of different ethnic origins have shown considerable differences in disease frequency, location and relation to diet. This paper revisits an earlier comparison of Maori rates of disease and diet based on data from 20 years ago with surprising changes in disease rates today.

  • This paper present the results of measured Thermally Stimulated Current of EPR(Ethylene Propylene Rubber) sheet material with variation of bias temperature range of -35~80[$^{\circ}C$], the quality of the material of electrode, condition. The origins of these peaks are that, low temperature peak seems to result from dipole, and high temperature peak from the orientation electronic trap.

  • As over 1000 new cases of HIV/AIDS occur in Korea annually, preventive health programs against HIV/AIDS are urgently needed. Since phylodynamic studies have been suggested as a way to understand how infectious diseases are transmitted and evolve, phylodynamic inferences can be a useful tool for HIV/AIDS research. In particular, phylodynamic models are helpful for dating the origins of an epidemic and estimating its basic reproduction number. Thus, the introduction of phylodynamics would be a highly valuable step towards controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Korea.

  • Rhizomes of Polygonatum species belong to Liliaceae are important herbal drugs in the traditional medical practice of Asian region. Two representative Chinese drugs derived from this genus are Hwangjeong and Okjuk. Though botanical origins of these drugs are officially listed as P. falcatum, P. sibiricum and P. kingianum for Hwangjeong and P. odoratum var. pluriflorum for Okjuk in the Korean Pharmacopoeia and Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia, respectively, they are often sold as a mixture of several different species in the market.
