Background : Willingness to satisfy patients(WSP) among nurses is essential to promoting patient satisfaction which is a critical component in the quality of health care and its outcomes. This study was carried out to empirically find out the affecting factors of WSP among nurses in hospital settings. Methods : The model contains seven job relating determinants and two intervening variables as follows: i) job relating variables of professional status, task requirements, pay, physician-nurse interaction, nurse-nurse interaction, organizational policies, and autonomy, ii) intervening variables of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Data were collected from 205 nurses in two general hospitals owned by one foundation located in Pusan, Korea, using a structured and self-administered questionnaire. Results : The major results were as follows: First, the results of ANOVA on WPS by personal characteristics showed a statistically significant relationships between WPS and hierarchical orders(p<.01) ana tenure(p<.10). Comparing with the lower orders and shorter tenure, the higher orders and the longer tenure showed better WPS. Second, the results of simple correlation analysis between WPS and determinants and intervening variables showed the following variables, in order of importance, were statistically significant(p<.01): work satisfaction(+), organizational commitment(+), task requirements(+), nurse-interaction(+), professional status(+), physician-nurse interaction(+). Third, the results of path analysis showed that two intervening variables of job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and three determinants of task requirements, professional status, and nurse-nurse interaction had a positively significant direct effect to WPS. Conclusion : The results suggest that nurses who are more satisfied with task requirements, status, nurse-nurse interaction, overall job satisfaction, and organizational commitment, will behave in ways that patients find more satisfied.
Objectives: This study aims to examine the factors that influence the organizational citizenship behavior of clinical dental hygienists to use them as basic data for improving effectiveness and efficiency of dental clinics and hospitals. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was answered by 250 clinical dental hygienists in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeolla and Gyeongsang province areas who were chosen using convenient sampling method from May 1st to June 30th of 2017. The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS/WIN 22.0 factor analysis on clinical dental hygienists' organization citizenship behavior, organizational commitment, empowerment, self-leadership and job satisfaction. T-test and one-way ANOVA were performed for subjects' general characteristics and organizational citizenship behavior, organizational commitment, empowerment, self-leadership and job satisfaction depending on their job characteristics. The mean comparison was drawn using the Scheffe test. Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis were performed to examine the relation of clinical dental hygienists' organizational citizenship behavior, organizational commitment, empowerment, self-leadership and job satisfaction Also, the significance level was set at 0.05. Results: Clinical dental hygienists' organizational citizenship behavior was 3.84 points with organizational commitment of 3.27, empowerment of 3.41, self-leadership 3.45 and job satisfaction of 3.57. Factors that influence clinical dental hygienists' organizational citizenship behavior appeared in the order of organizational commitment, job satisfaction, self-leadership, empowerment and job intensity, and the model's explanation power was 45.6%. Conclusions: Clinical dental hygienists' organizational citizenship behavior was correlated to career, organizational commitment, empowerment, self-leadership and job satisfaction, where organizational commitment had the biggest influence. Therefore, clinical dental hygienists organizational citizenship behavior needs further studies and investigtae more ways to promote factors that influence organizational citizenship behavior.

This study was conducted to the cognition and attitude for internal and external organizational behavior of health centers staff. An analytical model employed in this study was developed by modifying 'organizational behavior model'. Data was collected a mail survey of officers at health center, including 66 directors and 1,768 staffs of the health centers in southern region. The major findings are as follows : Among directors of the health centers 47% of them stated that legislators and chief executive officer(CEO) of local governments are highly concerned about the public health program. However only 15.2% of health center directors reported that legislators and CEO put public health high priority. For leadership type of directors 39.0% of them was classified as controller, 30.3% as participant, 22.7% entertaining and 7.6% comprehending. Regarding sociopsychological characteristics of the health center staffs, about a quarter of them had high degree of group cohesion, while 10.7% had low degree. Those staffs who are older, high educational level, or working in the rural health centers showed higher degree of cohesion than those who are young, low educational level, or working in urban health center. A third of them were less likely to be satisfied by what they are doing at the health centers. The higher educational level, the likely to be satisfied by what they are doing at the health centers. The higher educational level, the more satisfied with their job. Considering these results, policy implication was discussed and suggested. It is suggested that educational efforts be made to improve leadership of the health center directors and concern with public health program by the CEOs and legislators of local governments.
This paper proposes a change process model for organization development in health care organizations and provide an OD case exemplar of nursing service unit at Virtual Hospital. This case exemplar was written in a narrative form rather than in an argumentative form as an embodiment of organization development process as is viewed from the cultural/interpretive perspective rather than from the technical/rational one. This case exemplar illustrates the change process which consists of four interrelated components: change intervention, organizational target variables, individual organizational member, and organizational outcomes. It also demonstrates the applicability of the narrative rationality which involves narrative probability and narrative fidelity to the story where the learning organization, shared governance, and empowerment are fully emplotted and enlivened. The implications for organization development in health care organizations are discussed.
The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of emergency medical technicians' personal traits and job characteristics on job/social stress, job satisfaction, role conflicts, organizational commitment, and self-efficacy. The study population was emergency medical technicians who is working at the hospitals in Yeungnam province. The 200 questionnaires were administered by using ground mail, e-mail, and personal visits and 156 questionnaires were returned(82.5% response rate). Social stress, job satisfaction and role conflicts were significantly determined by personal traits and job characteristic variables. However, job stress, organizational commitment and self-efficacy was only significantly determined by job characteristic variables. In social stress and role conflicts, the subjects with challenge, sociability, acceptance and prudence traits were tend to be significantly higher scores compared to the stability traits. Additionally, among social stress regression models, adding job characteristics to the personal traits model, $R^2$ was increased up to 19% and adding personal traits to the job characteristics model, $R^2$ was increased up to 14%. In conclusion, the study found that personal traits and job characteristics are important variables in explaining social stress, job satisfaction and role conflicts, that would have important managerial implications for recruiting, hiring and managing either new or current emergency medical technicians efficiently.
Purpose: This study examined the mediating effect of the individualism-collectivism tendency of hospital nurses on the impact of their generation on professional pride and organizational commitment. Methods: 163 nurses participated in the study. One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and SPSS' Process Macro Model 4 was used to examine the relationships. Results: No intergenerational differences in individualistic propensity were observed, while collectivist propensity was higher in X-generation than Z-generation. Further, X-generation showed higher professional pride and organizational commitment than Y- and Z-generation. Notably, collectivistic (individualistic) tendency had (did not have) a mediating effect on the influence of generation on professional pride and organizational commitment. Conclusion: This study provided empirical evidence on the antecedent factors for forming collectivistic organizational culture in nursing organizations by demonstrating the mediating effect of collectivism propensity on professional pride and organizational commitment according to hospital nurses' generations nurses.

Purpose: The purpose of the present study was to examine the causal relationships among hospital nursing organizational characteristics (organizational climate, workload), individual characteristics (experience, education) and outcome variables (job satisfaction, job stress, task performance) by constructing and testing a conceptual framework. Method: Five large general hospitals located in Seoul were selected to participated. The total sample of 245 registered nurses represents a response rate of 94 percent. Data for this study was collected from January to February in 2006 by questionnaire. Path analyses with LISREL program were used to test the fit of the proposed model to the data and to examine the causal relationships among variables. Result: Both the proposed model and the modified model fit the data excellently. The model revealed relatively high explanatory power of work stress (40%), job satisfaction (46%) and task performance (27%) by predicted variables. In predicting work stress, job satisfaction and task performance, the finding of this study clearly demonstrate organizational climate might be the most important variable. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, it was suggested that desirable organizational climate was needed to increase the nurses' mental and physical health as well as qualified task performance.
Objectives : The aim of this meta-analysis was to draw overall conclusions on the correlation between the organizational effectiveness (OE) of healthcare employees and related factors by summarizing recent studies and to provide a baseline for future research. Methods : A literature search for original articles published from 2005 to 2014 including doctoral theses and KCI journal articles was done in KERIS' RISS, etc. in a systematic manner. From 77 studies which met the inclusion criteria 190 effect sizes (ESs) were calculated for the analysis. A meta-analysis was done with CMA 3 (Biostat company, USA). Results : The overall ES was moderate for all, positively and negatively related factors. For all related factors, job characteristics, group-leader relations, personal and organizational characteristics had a moderate ES. The ES for work experiences was small. Conclusions : Although the results of this study were meaningful it is necessary to perform follow-up analyses (1) based on a longer data period and more articles, (2) including moderating variables with higher explanatory power and (3) adopting a study model with more specific and simplified variables.

This study constructed a structural model and examined the fit and significance of the model to identify the influencing factors on the organizational commitment of ROTC cadets. The subjects of this study were 209 male students in grades 3 and 4 ROTC cadets of eight universities located in D, P, and G cities. Data were collected from April 13 to May 29, 2018. The data collected were analyzed by SPSS / WIN 20.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. A positive correlation was observed between the ROTC instructor's leadership, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Six of the six pathways of the hypothetical structural model were statistically significant. The hypothetical model showed a good fit for the data. The model fit indices were ${\chi}^2/df=1.51$, GFI=.98, AGFI=.90, NFI=0.98, NFI=.97, RMR=.02, RMSEA=.05, and TLI=.98. The ROTC Instructor's leadership and self-efficacy had direct and indirect effects on the organizational commitment. Job satisfaction had the strongest direct influence on organizational commitment. This model explained 73% of the variance in organizational commitment. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an effective education and intervention program that can enhance the ROTC instructor's leadership, self-efficacy, and job satisfaction to increase the organizational commitment of the ROTC cadets.
Purpose: The study aim was to investigate factors affecting factors nursing performance. Methods: This descriptive correlation study examined degree of mindfulness, resilience, organizational commitment, and nursing performance in order to confirm the correlation between variables and their effects on nursing performance. Study participants were 193 nurses who had more than 1 year of work experience at a tertiary hospital. The data were collected from March to April 2022 using structured self-reported questionnaires. SPSS/WIN 25.0 program was used to analyze the data. The statistical significance of the mediating effects were verified by applying PROCESS Macro. Results: Resilience, health state, total clinical career years, and organizational commitment were identified as factors affecting nursing performance, with the model explaining 51.6% of outcomes. Resilience had a complete mediating effect on the relationship between mindfulness and nursing performance. Conclusion: To improve nursing performance, various education and training must be developed and implemented to strengthen resilience. Additionally, it will be helpful to apply a mindfulness-based program to improve resilience. Further, designing various measures to improve the work environment and increase organizational commitment is recommended.
