When the concrete surface layer is damaged, The method of impregnating the concrete surface with a water repellent cannot secure the expected durability. Recently, various waterproofing and water-repellent materials were mixed into concrete or mortar to secure water repellency even inside cracks, but compressive strength was greatly reduced. In order to overcome the decrease in compressive strength, there has not yet been a study using the merits of organic and inorganic materials at the same time, so in this study, the physical properties and water repellency performance were evaluated by mixing an organic/inorganic composite water repellent appropriately mixed with an organic and inorganic material into the mortar. When mixed with organic/inorganic water repellent, the flow and air content were reduced by about 10% and 50% compared to the Liquid specimen. In the case of the P6L1 specimen, it was confirmed that the compressive strength decreased by about 3.5% compared to the non-mixed mortar at 39.5 MPa, the same as the existing water repellent, Powder. Water-repellent performance The organic-inorganic composite water repellent mixture specimen confirmed higher water repellency than the existing water repellent mixture powder, and the chloride penetration resistance evaluation result showed that the organic-inorganic composite water repellent mixture specimen reduced the passing charge by about 45% compared to the non-mixed mortar. In summary, it is judged that the P5L1 organic/inorganic composite water repellent mixed with a powder water repellent and a liquid water repellent in a ratio of 5:1 is the most reasonable to prevent the decrease in compressive strength and secure water repellency.
Organic/inorganic hybrid membranes have been prepared and evaluated as polymer electrolytes in a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Previously, partially fluorinated poly (arylenether) was synthesized and the polymer was sulfonated by fuming sulfuric acid$(30\%\;SO_3)$. Modification of these polymers with coupling agent and inorganic materials was carried out to prepare membranes. Membranes cast from these materials were investigated in relation to the proton conductivity and weight loss at the room temperature. It was found that these membranes had a higher conductivity of $10^{-2}\;Scm^{-1}$ at the room temperature. But inorganic materials have leaked out from the hybrid membrane. If this problem is resolved, organic/inorganic hybrid membranes will become satisfactory Polymer electrolytes for the PEMFC.

To improvement life-time of the organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs). We investigate the inorganic composite film based on MgO and $SiO_2$ to protect from the moisture and oxygen. The inorganic composite films are added the base materials to the co-operate materials using the mixed process and it is deposited on plastic substrate by e-beam evaporator. In order to analyze as kinds of inorganic materials, Water Vapor method of Transmission Rate (WVTR) and Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) are measured by Permatran equipment(MOCON Corp.). For comparison. an MgD- and $SiO_2$-based composite film has lower values of WVTR and OTR than inorganic composite/compound films of ones. The results obtained here shows that this film is suitable for passivation layer to extend the life-time of OLEDs.

We fabricated composite materials as a pellet structure with the various kinds of inorganic material powder. The composite materials were deposited onto the plastic film by the electron beam evaporation and water vapor transmission rates (WVTRs) were measured by the MOCON facility. As a result of WVTRs, the composite materials had lower WVTR value than any other inorganic materials. So, these films were proposed to protect the organic light emitting device (OLED) from moisture and oxygen. We can consider that the composite thin-film is one of the more suitable candidates for the thin-film passivation layer in the OLED. And, we are processing the XRD, XPS and EPMA to analyze the property of the composite material. We will also analyze properties of the current-voltage and luminescence for lifetime both the composite thin-film passivated OLED and non-passivated OLED.
In this study, we propose a method for fabricating hydrophobic coatings/films with three-dimensional (3D) hierarchical nanostructured organic/inorganic composite surfaces. An epoxy-based, large-area 3D ordered nanoporous template is first prepared through an advanced photolithography technique called Proximity-field nanoPatterning (PnP). Then, a hierarchically structured surface is generated by densely impregnating the template with silica nanoparticles with an average diameter of 22 nm through dip coating. Due to the coexisting micro- and nano-scale roughness on the surface, the fabricated composite film exhibits a higher contact angle (>137 degrees) for water droplets compared to the reference samples. Therefore, it is expected that the materials and processes developed through this study can be used in various ways in the traditional coating/film field.

The synthesis of titanium dioxide nanofibers with 200-300nm diameter was presented. The new inorganic-organic hybrid nanofibers were prepared by sol-gel processing and electrospinning technique using a viscous solution of titanium isopropoxide (TiP)/poly(vinyl acetate) (PVAc). Pure titanium dioxide nanofibers were obtained by high temperature calcination of the inorganic-organic composite fibers. SEM, FT-IR, and WAXD techniques were employed to characterize these nanofibers. The titanium dioxide nanostructured fibers have rougher surface and smaller diameter compare with PVAc/TiP composite nanofibers. The anatase to rutile phase transformation occurred when the calcination temperature was increased from $600^{\circ}C$ to $1000^{\circ}C$.

A new proton conductive inorganic-organic hybrid membrane doped with $H_3PO_4$ was fabricated via sol-gel process wit 3- glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane(GPTMS), 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES) and tetraethoxysilane(TEOS) asprecursors. Theproto conductivity of about 3.0$\times10^{-3}S/cm$ was obtained at $120^{\circ}C$ under $50\%$ relative humidity (R.H). DTA curves showed that the thermal stability of the membrane is significantly enhanced by the presence of $SiO_2$ framework up to $250^{\circ}C$. SEM and XRD revealed that the gel is microporou and amorphous. The addition of APTES improved the conductivity of the membranes and the effect of the APTES on the conductivity was also discussed in this paper.

This paper presents an evaluation of the effect of titanium dioxide nanoparticles in sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) with sulfonation degree of 57%. A series of inorganic-organic hybrid membranes were prepared with a systematic variation of titanium dioxide nanoparticles content. Their water uptake, methanol permeability and proton conductivity as a function of temperature were investigated. The results obtained show that the inorganic oxide network decreases the proton conductivity and water swelling. It is also found that increase in inorganic oxide content leads to decrease of methanol permeability. In terms of morphology, membranes are homogeneous and exhibit a good adhesion between inorganic domains and the polymer matrix. The properties of the composite membranes are compared with standard nafion membrane.
Duplex microstructure of zirconia and alumina has been achieved via an organic-inorganic solution technique. Zirconium 2,4-pentanedionate, aluminum nitrate and polyethylene glycol were dissolved in ethyl alcohol without any precipitation. The organicinorganic precursor gels were turned to porous powders having volume expansion through explosive, exothermic reaction during drying process. The volume expansion was caused by abrupt decomposition of the organic groups in the gels during the vigorous exothermic reaction. The volume expanded, porous powders were crystallized and densified at 1500$^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. At the optimum amount of the PEG polymer, the metal cations were well dispersed in the solution and a homogeneous polymeric network was formed. The polymer content also affected on the specific surface area of the synthesized powder and the grain size of the sintered composite.
Inorganic-organic composite thin-film-transistors (TFTs) of ZnO nanowire/Poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) were investigated by changing the nanowire densities inside the composites. Crystalline ZnO nanowires were synthesized via an aqueous solution method at a low temperature, and the nanowire densities inside the composites were controlled by changing the ultrasonifiaction time. The channel layers were prepared with composites by spin-coating at 2000 rpm, which was followed by annealing in a vacuum at $100^{\circ}C$ for 10 hours. Au/inorganic-organic composite layer/$SiO_2$ structures were fabricated and the mobility, $I_{on}/I_{off}$ ratio, and threshold voltage were then measured to analyze the electrical characteristics of the channel layer. Compared with a P3HT TFT, the electrical properties of TFT were found to be improved after increasing the nanowire density inside the composites. The mobility of the P3HT TFT was approximately $10^{-4}cm^2/V{\cdot}s$. However, the mobility of the ZnO nanowire/P3HT composite TFT was increased by two orders compared to that of the P3HT TFT. In terms of the $I_{on}/I_{off}$ ratio, the composite device showed a two-fold increase compared to that of the P3HT TFT.
