의학연구논문에서 통계적 기법의 활용 (On statistical methods used in medical research)

  • 현대 의학이 나날이 발전해 가는데 따라 관련 연구들도 활발히 진행되고 있다. 연구자가 원하는 연구의 결과를 얻기 위해서는 연구 설계, 연구 진행과 결과 분석까지 객관적이며 합리적인 방법으로 행해져야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 통계적 분석 방법이 다양하고 널리 사용 되고 있다. 본 논문은 현재 발행되고 있는 여러 의학 학술지중 네 개의 학회지를 대상으로 2004년부터 2007년까지 출판된 의학 논문에서 통계적 기법의 사용에 대해 조사하여 의학 연구에서 어떻게 적용되고 있는지 살펴보고자 한다.

  • 학생들의 참여를 유도하여 통계학 수업을 보다 흥미롭게 하기 위하여 학생들이 수업 시간에 직접 설문에 응답하도록 하였다. 학생들이 각자 응답한 여러 개의 파일을 즉시 한 파일로 모아서 통계분석을 할 수 있도록 비주얼 베이직을 이용한 엑셀 매크로를 작성하였다.

  • To apply and evaluate the effectiveness of genetic markers on Hanwoo traceability systems, samples of 33 Hanwoo individuals from Korean elite sire families were used, and five microsatellite markers were selected finally, which were located on chromosomes different chromosomes with the end sequencing of 100 HW-YUBAC that were recorded in the NCBI by Yeungnam University. Ten major microsatellite markers were selected from alleles amplified, their frequencies, H(Heterozygosity) and PIC(Polymorphism information content) with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Next, in order to evaluate the power of the markers selected on the individual animal identification, the match probability(MP) and the relatedness coefficient(R) were computed.

  • 다차원척도법(MDS)에서는 대게 개체간의 거리나 유사성이 대칭성을 따른다. 따라서 비대칭 거리를 다루기는 쉽지 않다. 통용되고 있는 비대칭 다차원척도법도 여전히 결과를 해석하는데 어려움이 있다. 본 연구는 비대칭행렬의 순서 통계량을 활용하여 더 간단한 비대칭 대차원척도법을 제안한다. 제안된 웹(Web) 방법은 개체간의 영향력을 사용자들이 해석을 쉽게 하도록 화살표의 방향크기와 모양에 따라 시각화하여 보여준다.

Quantile Estimation in Successive Sampling

  • In successive sampling on two occasions the problem of estimating a finite population quantile has been considered. The theory developed aims at providing the optimum estimates by combining (i) three double sampling estimators viz. ratio-type, product-type and regression-type, from the matched portion of the sample and (ii) a simple quantile based on a random sample from the unmatched portion of the sample on the second occasion. The approximate variance formulae of the suggested estimators have been obtained. Optimal matching fraction is discussed. A simulation study is carried out in order to compare the three estimators and direct estimator. It is found that the performance of the regression-type estimator is the best among all the estimators discussed here.

  • 2차 반응표면분석을 위한 부분합성계획은 실험 비용이 많이 들거나, 실험 자체가 어려워서 시간의 소비자 많은 경우, 실험오차의 독립추정이 가능할 때 효과적이다. 반응표면분석에서는 회전성과 기울기 회전성을 만족하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 회전성과 기울기 회전성의 관점에서 부분합성계획을 살펴보고 또한 인자의 수와 중심점의 수가 변함에 따라서 어떤 $\alpha$(중심에서 축점까지의 거리)의 값이 최적의 실험계획이 되도록 하는지를 연구하였다.

  • Considering all the factors involved in beef production individual identification using DNA marker testing is the most appropriate solution to give all the breeders' information to the consumers. After taking into account the genealogical information from the Hanwoo, only animals that did not share some parent or grandparent were analysed 33 from the 305 initially sampled. Nonparametric confidence intervals for quantiles based on a modified ranked set sampling

  • A new sampling method is introduced based on the idea of a ranked set sampling scheme in which taken samples in each set are dependent on previous ones. Some theoretical results are presented and distribution-free confidence intervals are derived for the quantiles of any continuous population. It is shown numerically that the proposed sampling scheme may lead to 95% confidence intervals (especially for extreme quantiles) that cannot be found based on the ordinary ranked set sampling scheme presented by Chen (2000) and Balakrishnan and Li (2006). Optimality aspects of this scheme are investigated for both coverage probability and minimum expected length criteria. A real data set is also used to illustrate the proposed procedure. Conclusions are eventually stated.

  • The transmuted generalized extreme value (TGEV) distribution was first introduced by Aryal and Tsokos (Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 71, 401-407, 2009) and applied by Nascimento et al. (Hacettepe Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, 45, 1847-1864, 2016). However, they did not give explicit expressions for all the moments, tail behaviour, quantiles, survival and risk functions and order statistics. The TGEV distribution is a more flexible model than the simple GEV distribution to model extreme or rare events because the right tail of the TGEV is heavier than the GEV. In addition the TGEV distribution can adjusted various forms of asymmetry. In this article, explicit expressions for these measures of the TGEV are obtained. The tail behavior and the survival and risk functions were determined for positive gamma, the moments for nonzero gamma and the moment generating function for zero gamma. The performance of the maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of the TGEV parameters were tested through a series of Monte Carlo simulation experiments. In addition, the model was used to fit three real data sets related to financial returns.
