Major findings are as follows: 1. The most frequently cited sources of information about dental health were continuing education courses(69.8%). 2. Most respondents had old concepts about the reasons for maintaining good oral hygiene. 3. Elementary school nursing teachers' knowledge about fluorides and preventive methods of caries and periodontal disease was found to be incomplete and sometimes inaccurate. 4. • Health is the most important factor in the Quality of life. Without appropriate treatment, dental caries could have serious effects on self-esteem, nutrition, and health of a person throughout his/her life. The purpose of this study was to investigate ways to develop a consumer information program that could help improve teens' oral health. To develop an effective information program, we surveyed 1) how teens feel about oral health information in the market, 2) how judiciously they use their information, and 3) how they actually apply the information to practice. On the other hand, we investigated relationships between dietary patterns and dental caries among middle school students. The results indicate a serious lack of oral health information for middle school students. Moreover, we found that the intake of vegetables, fruits and legumes prevents dental caries. Using these results, we developed a system for organizing and conveying the oral health information for teens.

In-depth interviews with the family caregivers revealed the following four categories: characteristics of senile dementia patients, oral health care in senile dementia patients, oral health care education, and burden of care. The central themes common to both the care workers and family caregivers were the challenges owing to the characteristics of senile dementia patients, poor health condition of the senile dementia patients, difficulty in oral health care of the senile dementia patients, the desire to receive oral health care education and related information, and to access the information more easily. Additional central themes specific to the care workers were, the applicability of the intervention programs, variability between the facilities, and the problems of oral health care education. An additional central theme specific to the family caregivers was the burden of care. Conclusions: It is necessary to provide oral health care education and information to care workers and family caregivers of senile dementia patients, and to manage and support the dental health professionals ready to care for senile dementia patients. In addition, support to the family caregivers should not be limited only to the financial aspects, but also consider the psychological and emotional difficulties.

A better oral health knowledge led to a better oral health behavior. Conclusions : The better oral health knowledge of the elderly people was followed by a better oral health behavior, and the development and implementation of customized oral health education programs geared toward the elderly are urgently required. • The purpose of this study was to provide information about the development of curricula geared toward improving the oral health of college students and of oral-health education programs in an effort to teach college students to be knowledgeable about oral health throughout their lives. The subjects in this study were 455 students at three different colleges in Gyeonggi province, on whom a survey was conducted. As for the basic oral health care of the college students investigated, 54.5 percent had ever visited a dental clinic over the last year, and 34.7 percent had their teeth scaled over the last year. Regarding self-awareness of current oral health state, 77 percent felt there s something wrong with their oral health. Concerning the correlation of their oral health behavior and knowledge to each selected variable, better internal and external locus of control led to better oral health promotion behaviors and better oral health knowledge. As to their self-perception of oral health and influential factors, better toothbrushing, better dietary habits and periodical oral examination, which belonged to oral health promotion behaviors, were followed by better oral health locus of control, and higher concern for oral health led to better oral health locus of control as well. Better toothbrushing, better dietary habits, periodical oral examination and better internal locus of control were concurrent with higher interest in oral health. • Background: The purpose of this study was to utilize text network analysis and topic modeling to identify interconnected relationships among keywords present in patent information related to oral health, and subsequently extract latent topics and visualize them. By examining key keywords and specific subjects, this study sought to comprehend the technological trends in oral health-related innovations. Furthermore, it aims to serve as foundational material, suggesting directions for technological advancement in dentistry and dental hygiene. Methods: The data utilized in this study consisted of information registered over a 20-year period until July 31st, 2023, obtained from the patent information retrieval service, KIPRIS. A total of 6,865 patent titles related to keywords, such as "dentistry," "teeth," and "oral health," were collected through the searches. The research tools included a custom-designed program coded specifically for the research objectives based on Python 3.10. This program was used for keyword frequency analysis, semantic network analysis, and implementation of Latent Dirichlet Allocation for topic modeling. Results: Upon analyzing the centrality of connections among the top 50 frequently occurring words, "method," "tooth," and "manufacturing" displayed the highest centrality, while "active ingredient" had the lowest. Regarding topic modeling outcomes, the "implant" topic constituted the largest share at 22.0%, while topics concerning "devices and materials for oral health" and "toothbrushes and oral care" exhibited the lowest proportions at 5.5% each. Conclusion: Technologies concerning methods and implants are continually being researched in patents related to oral health, while there is comparatively less technological development in devices and materials for oral health. This study is expected to be a valuable resource for uncovering potential themes from a large volume of patent titles and suggesting research directions.

Methods : A self-administered questionnaire survey was performed against 552 students from three middle schools in Changwon. A frequent analysis was conducted on research subjects' general characteristics, oral health awareness, oral health behavior. In addition, t-test and ANOVA were carried out to analyze oral health-related quality of life by the general characteristics, oral health awareness and oral health behavior. Results : In terms of oral health-related quality of life by general characteristics, the quality of life on oral symptoms was higher at lower school grades (p<0.05). In terms of social welfare, oral health-related quality of life was higher as parents' monthly income increased (p<0.05). Oral health-related quality of life was high in oral symptoms when there was no interest in oral health, in functional limitation, emotional welfare and social welfare when there is some oral health-related knowledge (p<0.05) and in all sub categories when oral conditions are healthy (p<0.05). Conclusions : The results of this study has come up with important information for improvement of oral health-related quality of life in middle school students by investigating the correlations between oral health awareness and oral health-related quality of life.
