  • We investigated the effects of feeding rate on the growth performance, blood components, and histology of growing olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. We determined the optimum feeding rate (initial fish mean weight of $240{\pm}10.9$ g) at the optimum water temperature. Two replicated groups of fish were fed a commercial diet at rates of 0%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1.0% body weight (BW) per day, and to satiation. Feeding trial was conducted using a flow-through system with 10 1.2-metric ton aquaria receiving filtered seawater at $19-21^{\circ}C$ for three weeks. Weight gain (WG) for fish fed to satiation was significantly higher than that of unfed fish and fish fed at 0.5% and 0.75% BW per day. The WG of fish fed at 1.0% BW per day was significantly higher than that of unfed fish and of fish fed at 0.5% BW per day. However, there were no significant differences in WG between fish fed at 0.5% BW per day and those fed at 0.75% BW per day, between fish fed at 0.75% BW per day and those fed at 1.0% BW per day, and between fish fed at 1.0% BW per day and those fed to satiation. The specific growth rates of fish fed at 1.0% BW per day and those fed to satiation were significantly higher than those of unfed fish and of fish fed at 0.5% BW per day. Broken-line regression analysis of weight gain showed that the optimum feeding rate of olive flounder weighing 240 g was 1.09% BW per day at the optimum water temperature.

겨울철에 부상사료 공급횟수가 넙치 치어의 성장과 체성분에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Feeding Frequency of Extruded Pellet on Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus During the Winter Season)

  • 본 연구는 겨울철 넙치 사육시 부상 배합사료의 적정 공급횟수와 공급률을 조사하기 위해 평균 체중 45.0 g의 넙치를 각 수조마다 20마리씩 3반복으로 수용하여 60일간 사육하였다. 사료 공급횟수는 1일 3회, 1일 2회, 1일 1회 및 2일 1회로 설정하였으며 사료 공급량은 만복 및 만복의 $80\%$로 설정하였다. 생존율은 모든 실험구에서 $96\%$이상이었으며, 증중량은 1일 2회 만복 공급구가 1일 3회 공급구와 통계적인 차이는 없었지만 가장 높았고. 2일 1회 제한 공급구가 가장 낮은 결과를 보였다. (P<0.05). 그리고 동일한 공급횟수에서 만복 공급구가 제한 공급구보다 높은 성장을 보였다. 일일사료섭취율은 만복 공급구와 제한 공급구 모두 공급횟수가 증가할수록 증가하다가 1일 2회 공급구 이상에서는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 사료효율과 단백질효율은 1일 3회 제한 공급구가 가장 높았고 2일 1회 제한 공급구가 낮은 값을 보였으며(P<0.05), 나머지 실험구들 사이에는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 사육 실험 종료시 전어체의 수분, 단백질, 지질 및 회분함량은 모든 실험구간에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 이상의 결과로부터, 평균체중 45-53 g의 넙치치어를 겨울철에 사육할 때는 부상배합사료를 1일 2회 만복으로 공급하는 것이 바람직 할 것이라 판단된다.

  • 본 연구는 여름철에 넙치 치어 배합사료의 적정 지질함량 및 적정 사료공급량을 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 적정 지질함량 실험에서 실험사료는 사료내 단백질함량은 52로 동일하게 맞추고 지질함량은 6, 8, 10, 12, 14%가 되도록 설계 하였다. 평균 무게 $18.4{\pm}0.11\;g$ ($mean{\pm}SD$)인 넙치 치어를 300 L 사각수조에 30마리씩 수용하여 각 실험구당 3반복으로 6주간 실시하였으며, 실험기간 동안 평균 수온은 $21{\sim}25^{\circ}C$였다. 실험결과, 증중률, 일간성장률, 사료효율 및 단백질전환효율은 사료내 지질함량이 사료내 지질 함량이 8%(L8)및 10%(L10)인 실험구가 6, 14%인 실험구보다 유의적으로 높았으며(P<0.05), 사료내 지질 함량이 12%인 실험구와는 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았다. Broken line model분석을 통한 최대 성장을 위한 여름철 넙치치어 배합사료의 적정 지질 함량은 $9.08{\pm}0.37%$로 사료된다. 적정 공급량 실험에서는 적정 지질함량 실험에서 성장결과가 가장 우수했던 L10을 사용하여 사료공급량을 어체 중 당 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5% 그리고 만복공급으로 구분으로 6주간 실험하였다. 실험어는 평균무게 $13.4{\pm}0.1\;g$ ($mean{\pm}SD$)인 넙치 치어를 300 L 사각수조에 각각 30마리씩 수용하여 각 실험구당 3반복으로 실시하였으며, 실험기간 동안 평균 수온은 $21{\sim}25^{\circ}C$였다. 적정 사료공급량 실험결과, 증중률, 일간성장률은 사료공급량이 증가할수록 유의적으로 높게 나타났지만(P<0.05),사료공급량이 어체중 당 3.5%와 만복 실험구(어체중 당 4.0% 수준)는 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았다(Table 6). Broken line model 분석을 통한 최대 성장을 위한 여름철 단백질 52%,지질 10% (P/E ratio; 108mg protein/kcal)를 함유한 넙치치어 배합사료의 적정 사료공급량은 어체중 당 $3.56{\pm}0.06$로 사료된다. 따라서, 본 연구를 통하여 여름철 넙치치어($10{\sim}50\;g$)배합사료의 적정지질 함량은 $9{\sim}10%$ (Energy: 4,774 kcal, P/E ratio; 108 mg protein/kcal)내외, 이에 대한 적정사료 공급량은 어체중 당 3.5% 내외가 될 것으로 사료된다.

Effects of Feeding Rate and Water Temperature on Growth and Body Composition of Juvenile Korean Rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli (Hilgendorf 1880)

  • Three feeding trials were conducted to evaluate the effects of feeding rate and water temperature on growth and body composition of juvenile Korean rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli rearing at 3 different water temperatures. A total of 270 fish (each experiment) individual body weight (BW) averaging $16{\pm}0.3g$ ($mean{\pm}SD$) were fed a commercial diet for 4 wk at $16^{\circ}C$, $20^{\circ}C$, and $24^{\circ}C$. At each temperature, triplicate tanks were assigned to one of 6 feeding rates: 1.5%, 2.5%, 2.8%, 3.1%, 3.4%, and satiation (3.7% BW/d) at $16^{\circ}C$, 1.9%, 2.9%, 3.2%, 3.5%, 3.8% and satiation (4.1% BW/d) at $20^{\circ}C$ and 1.7%, 2.7%, 3.0%, 3.3%, 3.6%, and satiation (3.9% BW/d) at $24^{\circ}C$ water temperature. Weight gains of fish in satiation and 3.4% groups at $16^{\circ}C$, in satiation and 3.8% groups at $20^{\circ}C$ and in satiation and 3.6% groups at $24^{\circ}C$ were significantly higher than those of fish in the other treatments (p<0.05). A broken line regression analysis of weight gain indicated that optimum feeding rates of juvenile Korean rockfish were 3.41% at $16^{\circ}C$, 3.75% at $20^{\circ}C$ and 3.34% at $24^{\circ}C$ water temperature. Results of the present study indicate that the optimum feeding rate could be >3.1% but <3.41% at $16^{\circ}C$, >3.5% but <3.75% at $20^{\circ}C$ and >3.0% but <3.34% at $24^{\circ}C$. As we expected results suggest that fish performed better at $20^{\circ}C$ than $16^{\circ}C$ or $24^{\circ}C$ water temperature and the optimum feeding rate could be 3.1% BW/d to 3.7% BW/d in 16 g of juvenile Korean rockfish.

  • We investigated the effects of feeding rate on the growth performance and blood components of sub-adult olive flounder Paralichthys olivaceus. Optimum feeding rate (initial fish mean weight : $370{\pm}5.72g$) was determined under the low water temperature. Two replicated groups of fish were fed a commercial diet at rates of 0%, 0.3%, 0.4%, 0.5%, and 0.6% body weight (BW) per day, and to satiation (0.75%). Feeding trial was conducted under a flow-through system with 12 1.2-metric ton aquaria receiving filtered seawater at $12-14^{\circ}C$ for 4 weeks. Weight gain (WG) and specific growth rate (SGR) for fish fed at 0.6% BW per day was significantly higher than that of unfed fish (0%) and fish fed at 0.3% and 0.4% BW per day. There were no significant differences in WG and SGR among fish fed at 0.5%, 0.6%, and 0.75%. These parameters were negative and significantly lower in the starved fish than in fish fed the experimental diet at all feeding rates. Survival for unfed fish (0%) was significantly lower than that of fish fed at 0.4%, 0.5%, and 0.6%. Hematocrit and hemoglobin content of fish fed at 0% and 0.75% (satiation) were significantly lower than that of fish fed at 0.4% BW per day. Total protein content in unfed fish was significantly lower than those in other treatments. Broken-line regression analysis of weight gain showed that the optimum feeding rate of olive flounder weighing 370 g was 0.51% BW per day at the low water temperature.

오버레이 용접법에 의한 Al-Cu 합금 경화후막의 특성 (A Characteristics of Thick and Hard Al-Cu Alloy by Overlaying Welding Process)

  • It was attempted to improve the wear resistance of Al alloy under the load condition by making a formation of the thicker surface hardening alloy layers. The thicker surface hardening alloy layers were formed on 6061 Al alloys overlayed by MIG and TIG welding process with Cu powders feeding. The characteristics of hardening and wear resistance have been investigated in relation to the microstructures of alloyed layers, with a selection of optimum alloying conditions for formation of overlaying layer. The results obtained were summarized as follows With increasing feeding rate of Cu powders by MIG welding, the hardness and specific wear of the overlay weld alloys were increased. It is considered that these high hardness and specific wear of overlay weld alloys were due to the formation of Θ($Al_2Cu$) phases. With increasing feeding rate of Cu powders by TIG welding, the hardness and specific wear of the overlay weld alloys were increased in feeding rates 12 and 18g/min. However, the hardness and specific wear were decreased in the powder feeding rate 38g/min. It is considered that considered that decrease of hardness and specific wear in the powder feeding rate 38g/min due to formation of ${\gamma}$($Al_4Cu_9$) phases.

여름철에 넙치 치어 배합사료의 적정 공급횟수 (Optimum Feeding Frequency of Extruded Pellet for the Growth of Juvenile Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus During the Summer Season)

  • 본 연구는 치어기 넙치의 여름철 적정 사료공급 횟수를 조사하기 위해 평균무게 3.7g의 실험어를 300${\iota}$ 원형수조에 각 수조당 80마리씩 3반복으로 무작위 배치하여 사료공급 횟수를 달리하여 6주간 사육하였다. 사료공급 횟수는 2일 1회(09:00), 1일 1회(09:00), 1일 2회(09:00, 18:00), 1일 3회(09:00, 13:00, 18:00) 및 1일 4회(09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00)로 설정하였으며, 매회 실험어가 먹을 때까지 만복공급 하였다. 생존율은 2일 1회 사료공급구가 가장 낮게 나타났으며, 1일 1회 이상의 사료공급구간에서는 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 증체율 및 일일사료 섭취율은 사료공급횟수가 증가함에 따라서 증가하였지만, 1일 2회 이상 사료를 공급한 실험구들 간에는 유의한 차이가 없었다. 사료효율 및 단백질 전환효율은 사료공급횟수에 유의한 영향을 받지 않아 모든 실험구간에 차이가 없었다. 사육실험 종료 후, 전어체의 수분, 단백질, 지방 및 회분함량은 모든 실험구에서 유의적인 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때, 3.7${\~}$19.0g 넙치 치어 시기의 여름철(수온 $24^{\circ}C$) 배합사료의 적정공급 횟수는 사육관리 시간 및 비용 등 경제적인 측면을 고려하였을 때 1일 2회일 것으로 사료되며, 이때 사료섭취율은 $2.63{\~}2.78\%$가 적당할 것으로 판단된다.

  • A scope of this study is to establish the optimum plasma spray conditions for fine ($5\mu\textrm{m}$) $Al_2O_3$ powder. However, the flowability of the $Al_2O_3$ powder is not so good because of irregular particle shape and fine particle size. Therefore, powder feeding system was modified by 1) change of powder feeding line material from polymer to copper 2) shorten the powder feeding tube length 3) heating the powder feeding system to $80^{\circ}C$4) vibrating the powder feeding line continuously, in order to feed the fine powder homogeneously. The homogeneous powder feeding conditions were obtained with the modified powder feeding system by controlling the powder carrier gas flow and the powder flow rate indicator. The best plasma spraying conditions for the fine $Al_2O_3$ powder were found out as 40kw gun power, 80 g/min. powder feed rate and 50 mm working distance after characterizing the microstructure, hardness and wear loss of the $Al_2O_3$ coating layer.

박피 마늘의 품위판정 기술개발에 관한 기초연구(I) -영상식 마늘 선별기용 반전장치 개발- (Basic Study on Quality Evaluation Technique for Peeled Garlics(I) -Rotation sytem for vision-based garlic sorter-)

  • Many workers in the garlic peeling factory are separating the sound peeled garlics from the unpeeled and defective ones in a manual way. In order to reduce the seasonal labor requirement and operating cost, the mechanized garlic sorting system such as the vision-based garlic sorter should be developed. This study was conducted as one of basic studies on developing quality evaluation technique for peeled garlics, especially to developed the system for acquiring the whole surface images of garlics with a CCD camera. The following results were obtained from this study. 1. The belt-type garlic rotation system was devised to apply for the vision-based garlic sorter and was tested to decide the criteria of design and optimum conveying speed. 2. To evaluate the performance of the developed garlic rotation system, feeding rate and rotating rate were measured under the conditions of four experimental factors such as the inclined angle of rotating belt, the inclined angle of feeding belt, the height of plate arrays on feeding belt and the conveying speed of belts. And the capacity of the system according to mixture ratios of peeled garlics and unpeeled garlics was analyzed as a feasibility test. 3. For the inclined angle of rotating belt 20°and height of plate array on feeding belt 22㎜, the maximum rotating rate for garlic samples including unpeeled ones was 81.1% at the conveying speed of 4.2 garlic/sec. And under these condition, the maximum feeding rate was 85% at the inclined angle of feeding belt 6.5°. 4. The capacity of the developed garlic rotation system was almost constant regardless of mixture ratio of peeled garlics and unpeeled garlics and its range was 2.95∼3.92 garlic/sec. At the conveying speed of 4.2 garlic/sec, the capacity of the garlic rotation system was calculated ad 58∼64 kg/hr. 5. To improve performance of the garlic rotation system, it is recommended to develop a device to slide garlics into feeding belt.

배합사료 공급율 및 공급횟수가 겨울철에 사육된 육성기 넙치의 성장 및 체조성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Feeding Rate and Frequency on the Winter Growth and Body Composition of Olive Flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus)

  • Two 15-week feeding trials were conducted to investigate how the rate and frequency of feeding affected the winter growth of olive flounder ($13^{\circ}C$). In the first experiment, triplicate groups of fish (initial mean weight $117{\pm}6.0$ g) were fed extruded pellets twice a day at feeding rates of 0.1, 0.25, 0.4, 0.55, and 0.57% (satiation) body weight per day (BW/d). The weight gain, specific growth rate, and feed efficiency increased significantly (P<0.05) with the feeding rates from 0.1 to 0.55% BW/d, but no significant differences in these parameters were found for fish fed diets of 0.55% BW/d and satiation. The moisture and ash contents of whole body of fish tended to decrease as the feeding rate increased, but the opposite trend was found for crude lipid content. In the second experiment, triplicate groups of fish (initial mean weight $117{\pm}6.3$ g) were fed extruded pellets to apparent satiation at the three different feeding frequencies: one meal 2 days, one meal a day and two meals a day. The weight gain and specific growth rate of fish fed one meal 2 days were significantly (P<0.05) lower than those of fish fed one or two meals a day, whereas no significant differences in the weight gain and specific growth rate were found between fish fed one and those fed two meals a day. Feed efficiency and condition factor were not significantly affected by feeding frequency. Based on these results, a feeding rate of 0.3% BW/d is recommended as maintenance feeding level, and the optimum feeding frequency is one meal a day with satiation feeding for the growth of olive flounder (117-147 g) during winter ($13^{\circ}C$).
