  • Analysis of radiation heating system for producing 60" size PDP panels was carried out using $RADCAD^{TM}$ software. Optimum arrangement of infrared heating elements was found to obtain uniform temperature distribution in PDP panel during heating. Heating capacity of each heater was determined to obtain an appropriate maximum panel temperature. Parametric study to find the effect of design parameters such as the thermophysical and optical properties of glass and cooling system was carried out. As a reference system, about 35 kW heating capacity was chosen to obtain about 800 K maximum panel temperature after 30 minute heating. The maximum temperature difference in panel was below 20 K. The maximum/minimum and its difference in the panel were very sensitive to the variation of the emissivity of glass and cooling block.

  • No matter how well the equally spaced grounding grid is designed, there are questions keep rising, such as leakage of current from comer conductor, high voltage of touch voltage in corners of grid than in center, and high material cost for grounding grid. The best-fitted design for unequally spaced grounding grid is a part that must be considered. Explain advantages of unequally spaced grounding grid and lead formula by dividing the number of grid division, j, into 20, instead of 7. Then present $D_{ij}$, which is optimum rate for unequally spaced grounding grid and verify safety and economy of the unequally spaced grounding grid by computer simulation with a poly-nominal function form.

  • In-situ particle monitors(ISPMs) are widely used for monitoring contaminant particles in vacuum-based semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In the present research, the performance of a Particle Measuring Systems(PMS) Vaculaz-2 ISPM at low pressures has been studied. We generated the uniform sized methylene blue particle beams using three identical aerodynamic lenses in the center of the vacuum line, and measured the detection efficiency of the ISPM. The effects of particle size, particle concentration, mass flow rate, system pressure, and arrangement of aerodynamic lenses on the detection efficiency of the ISPM were examined. Results show that the detection efficiency of the ISPM greatly depends on the mass flow rate, and the particle Stokes number. We also found that the optimum Stokes number ranges from 0.4 to 1.9 for the experimental conditions.

전투용 차량의 경량화 최적설계 기법 연구 (Minimum Weight Design Method for Infantry Fighting Vehicles Hull using Thick Composite Laminate)

  • In this paper, general design process for Tracked Fighting Vehicle has been suggested. Stress analysis and optimal design for ply angle of IFV's composite upper hull has been calculated using KMA CIFV and it is contained exploratory development of design process. In this point, this paper applied composite to IFV's upper hull. Finite element mesh has been made using Matlab program, and we have analyzed stress based on the given material properties and ply arrangement. For each load condition, load distribution in plane and failure index are calculated by using Tasi-Hill criterion, which is composite failure criterion and analyzing change of failure index as change of ply angle. Finally, optimal ply angles of upper hull are calculated using KMA CIFV. We can estimate the decrease of weight for IFV's upper hull.

  • The growth thickness uniformity of epitaxial layers deposited using a moiecular beam epitaxy system is calculated from the arrangement of molecular beam source and the substrate and the geometric dimensions of the crucible in order to predict the optimum design conditions of the prototype MBE system. The thickness uniformity better than 5% over a 3-inch wafer can be obtained by keeping the distance between the substrate and the crucible's orifice longer than 20cm, the tapering angle of the crucible larger than 6$^{\circ}$, and the angle between the normal to the substrate at the center and the crucible axis as larger as possible. In addition, the growth yield decreases to below 51% as the distance between the substrate and the orifice becomes longer than 25cm.

  • Two antennas system which is aligned in cross direction is tested and analyzed. The main scope is focused to get an appropriated distance between the two small antennas to get a better property. The theoretical expectation and the computer simulation are executed simultaneously. The target is the folded IF antenna system printed on PCB, but the ideal dipole-antenna arrangement is also tested to verify the possibility of our implementation. And it is finally proved by experiments.

  • Nowadays, the most serious problems in AC PDP are high cost and a complex manufacturing process. To solve these problems, Fence electrode structure are newly suggested. In this paper, we investigated the the electrical and optical characteristics as the structure of Fence electrode was changed, and suggested the optimum width and arrangement of electrode.

간헐적인 연료분무의 유동특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Flow Characteristics of an Intermittent Fuel Spray)

  • The flow characteristics of an intermittent fuel injection into a stationary ambient air were investigated using gasoline. The measurements were made by two-channel, air cooling type Phase Doppler Anemometer(PDA) system (DANTEC, 750 MW). And a pintle type injector of MPI (Multi-point Port Injection) system was utilized as a fuel injector. The PDA receiver optic was set up in a 60.deg. C forward scatter arrangement to obtain the optimum scattering signal of fuel droplets. The data were obtained by synchronizing PDA system with the fuel injection period, and the axial and radial velocity and turbulent components of fuel droplets were mainly measured for the analysis of temporal and spatial distribution depending upon the fuel injection pressures.

  • In this study, the axial-compressor design and performance/flow analysis program is developed. A mean-line analysis was used to determine optimum arrangement of overall geometry and its off-design performance is predicted by stage-stacking method. Three dimensional blade shape is generated using radial equilibrium equation and vortex methods. Various blade shape is generated and their performance is compared. Finally the quasi-three dimensional flow analysis is applied to investigate the detailed flow phenomena.

  • Hot press forming can produce high-strength components by rapidly cooling between closed punch and die after hot forming using quenchable boron steel austenized in a furnace. In the hot press forming process, the cooling rate is influenced by the size, position and arrangement of the cooling channel and the file condition of cooling water in the die. Also, mechanical properties of the final components and operation time are related to cooling rate. Therefore, the design of optimized cooling channel is one of the most important works. In this paper, the effect of position and size of the cooling channel on the cooling rate was investigated by using design of experiment and FE analysis in hot press bending process. Therefore the optimum cooling channel ratio was presented in the HPB.
