해상 프리캐스트 콘크리트 부유체 모듈 가접합을 위한 마이크로 실리카 혼입 수중용 에폭시 접합 성능 검토 : Part 1 - 재료 개발 및 성능 검토 (Micro-silica Mixed Aqua-epoxy for Concrete Module Connection in Water : Part 1 - Material Development and Evaluation)

  • 최근에 콘크리트 모듈로 건설하는 부유 구조물에 대한 연구가 활발히 이루어짐에 따라 콘크리트 모듈 간 접합 공법에 대한 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 모듈 간 접합 작업은 수중에서 프리스트레싱 텐던을 긴장하여 이루어지므로 시공성이 저하될 가능성이 있어서 가접합을 위한 부착재료 개발이 요구된다. 이번 연구에서는 콘크리트 구조물 보수보강용 섬유보강 패널 부착에 사용된 수중용 에폭시에 $SiO_2$ 계열 마이크로 실리카(Micro-silica : MS)를 혼입하여 콘크리트 모듈 가접합용 접합재료를 개발, 평가하였다. 기존 수중용 에폭시에 0~4% MS를 혼입하여 부착성능 평가를 통하여 최적 MS 혼입량을 산정하였으며 수중용 에폭시의 점도에 따른 MS 혼입 효과를 확인하기 위하여 주제 비율을 각각 0, ${\pm}5$%, ${\pm}10%$로 조정하여 재료성능을 검토한 후 최적 비율을 도출하였다. 도출된 마이크로 실리카 수중용 에폭시(MSAE)의 콘크리트 모듈 접합 성능을 검증하기 위하여 콘크리트 모듈 접합 시험체에 3점 재하 실험을 실시한 결과 MSAE는 기존 수중용 에폭시에 비해 콘크리트 모듈 접합 성능이 크게 향상된 것으로 나타났다.

상온 재활용 아스팔트 혼합물의 적정 유화아스팔트 함량 선정 연구 (Study on the Proper Emulsified-Asphalt Content for a Cold-Recycling Asphalt Mixture)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mechanical properties of a cold-recycling asphalt mixture used as a base layer and to determine the optimum emulsified-asphalt content for ensuring the mixture's performance. METHODS : The physical properties (storage stability, mixability, and workability) of three types of asphalt emulsion (CMS-1h, CSS-1h, and CSS-1hp) were evaluated using the rotational viscosity test. Asphalt emulsion residues, prepared according to the ASTM D 7497-09 standard, were evaluated for their rheological properties, including the $G*/sin{\delta}$and the dynamic shear modulus (${\mid}G*{\mid}$). In addition, the Marshall stability, indirect tensile strength, and tensile-strength ratio (TSR) were evaluated for the cold-recycling asphalt mixtures fabricated according to the type and contents of the emulsified asphalt. RESULTS : The CSS-1hp was found to be superior to the other two types in terms of storage stability, mixability, and workability, and its $G*/sin{\delta}$ value at high temperatures was higher than that of the other two types. From the dynamic shear modulus test, the CSS-1hp was also found to be superior to the other two types, with respect to low-temperature cracking and rutting resistance. The mixture test indicated that the indirect tensile strength and TSR increased with the increasing emulsified-asphalt content. However, the mixtures with one-percent emulsified-asphalt content did not meet the national specification in terms of the aggregate coverage (over 50%) and the indirect tensile strength (more than 0.4 MPa). CONCLUSIONS : The emulsified-asphalt performance varied greatly, depending on the type of base material and modifying additives; therefore, it is considered that this will have a great effect on the performance of the cold-recycling asphalt pavement. As the emulsified-asphalt content increased, the strength change was significant. Therefore, it is desirable to apply the strength properties as a factor for determining the optimum emulsified-asphalt content in the mix design. The 1% emulsified-asphalt content did not satisfy the strength and aggregate coverage criteria suggested by national standards. Therefore, the minimum emulsified-asphalt content should be specified to secure the performance.

시험시공을 통한 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트 포장의 배합, 시공 및 품질관리 기준 제안 (A Suggestion of Mix, Construction Method and Quality Control Criteria of Fine-size Exposed Aggregate PCC Pavement by Experimental Construction)

  • 소입경 골재노출콘크리트포장은 콘크리트 포장 시공 시 포장표면에 적정 응결지연제를 분사한 후 표면 모르타르를 제거하여 굵은 골재를 노출시킴으로서 표면조직을 형성하는 공법으로써 기존 콘크리트 포장의 소음문제를 해결할 수 있는 저소음 공법이다. 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트 포장은 강도를 크게 개선할 뿐만 아니라 소음저감 효과 및 우수한 미끄럼 저항성을 확보하여 도로이용자의 안정성을 확보할 수 있는 공법이다. 현재 국외 도로 선진국의 경우 골재노출 포장의 상용화가 이루어진 상태이지만 국내의 경우는 실용화 초기단계이기 때문에 현장적용을 위해서는 국내 여건에 맞는 합리적인 관리 기준이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트 포장의 최적배합 및 노출기법 연구, 굵은 골재의 선정 및 입도 설계, 환경하중 저항성 평가 등 실내시험을 수행하였으며, 소입경 골재노출 콘크리트 포장의 시공을 위한 시공 장비를 제작하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시험시공을 통해 도출된 결과와 기존 실내시험에서 도출된 결과를 비교 분석하였으며, 시험시공 분석을 통하여 골재 탈리 방지, 강도 및 내구성 확보를 위한 표준배합을 제시하였다. 환경 및 시공조건이 상이한 3차례 시험시공 구간을 선정하여 시공현장여건에 유동성으로 대처할 수 있는 시공 기술 및 시공 기준을 제시하였다. 또한 장 단기 공용성 평가를 통하여 도로 포장의 기능성 측면에서 우수한 소음저감 및 미끄럼 저항성을 확보할 수 있는 노면조직의 품질관리 기준을 제시하였다.

기수산 물벼룩(Diaphanosoma celebensis)의 대량생산을 위한 대체 먹이원의 효과 (Relative Effectiveness of Replacement Diets for Mass Production of the Brackish Water Flea Diaphanosoma celebensis)

  • This study examined the effect of formulated diets (composed of condensed freshwater $Chlorella$ or $Schizochytrium$ sp., $Crypthecodinium$ sp., and EPA oil sources derived from baker's yeast) on the population growth and fatty acid composition of the brackish water flea ($Diaphanosoma$ $celebensis$) to determine diet effectiveness for mass production. Results indicated that the highest maximum density, fecundity, and population specific growth rate (SGR) of the flea were observed using a diet of $Tetraselmis$ $suecica$ (control). However, results using condensed freshwater $Chlorella$ and the mixed treatment of $Schizochytrium$ sp.+$Crypthecodinium$ sp.+EPA oil did not significantly differ from the control treatment ($P$>0.05). Thus, $T.$ $suecica$ could be replaced with a combination diet of $Schizochytrium$ sp., $Crypthecodinium$ sp., and EPA oil in condensed freshwater $Chlorella$ without growth interruption of $D.$ $celebensis$. As the percentage of combination diet (mix of $Schizochytrium$ sp., $Crypthecodinium$ sp., and EPA oil) in condensed freshwater $Chlorella$ increased, the level of ARA, EPA, DHA, and n-3 HUFA in $D.$ $celebensis$ also increased. However, the population density of $D.$ $celebensis$ sharply decreased with the use of treated supplements C5M5 (CHL [50%] and $Crypthecodinium$ sp.+ $Schizochytrium$ sp. + EPA oil [MIX 50%]). The optimum proportions of CHL and MIX for $D.$ $celebensis$ within the mixture were 70% and 30%, respectively. Based on the results, the combination of $Schizochytrium$ sp., $Crypthecodinium$ sp., and EPA oil in condensed freshwater $Chlorella$ appears to be a stable and effective food source for mass production of $D.$ $celebensis$.

폐유리 분말을 혼입한 유리 콘크리트의 역학적 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Mechanical Properties of Glass Concrete with Powdered Waste Glasses)

  • 천연자원 보존의 일환으로서 폐타이어, 폐플라스틱 재료 등에 대한 재활용 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 폐유리를 시멘트 대체재료로서 개발하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여, 먼저 보통강도 및 고강도 콘크리트 각각에 대해서 폐유리 분말의 혼입률을 변화시킨 콘크리트를 제조한 다음 그것의 압축강도 시험을 통하여 폐유리 분말의 최적 혼입률을 도출하였다. 또한, 최적 혼입률에 의하여 제작된 보통강도 및 고강도 콘크리트 각각에 대해서 압축, 인장 및 휨강도와 탄성적 성질 등 역학적 특성을 구명하였다. 한편, 시멘트 속의 알칼리와 폐유리 속에 다량 함유된 실리카 성분은 서로 반응하려는 경향이 있기 때문에, 현재 모프타르봉 시험 방법(KS F 2546)에 의한 알칼리.실리카 반응 시험을 진행하고 있다. 본 실험연구 결과로부터 폐유리 분말을 혼입한 콘크리트는 실리카흄 콘크리트보다 작업성은 다소 우수하며, 강도특성은 유사한 것으로 나타나, 폐유리 분말에 대해서 경제적이고 환경친화적인 콘크리트 혼화재로서의 가능성을 입증하였다.

The effect of liquid swine manure application rate on the production of green manure crops in paddy

  • The application of liquid swine manure to soil has been commonly reported to increase crop productivity by improving plant nutrient availability. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of liquid swine manure (LSM) application on yield of green manure crops in paddy. Three different application rates of LSM equivalent to 25%, 50%, and 75% of standard fertilization rate of P were applied to the paddy field after rice harvest, and two cover crops, hairy vetch (Vicia villosa Roth) and barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), were subsequently mix-seeded and cultivated. Plant height of barley was 7% higher in LSM P25% and LSM P50% compared to control treatment (no LSM application), while no significant difference was observed between LSM P75% and control. However, there were no significant differences in plant height of hairy vetch among treatments. Dry matter (DM) yield of green manure increased with LSM application rate, reaching a maximum at LSM P50% (38 and 17% yield increase over control for hairy vetch and barley, respectively), but it decreased at LSM P75% rate. Nitrogen production by green manure crops was the highest in LSM P50% treatment, where the amount of produced N was 57% higher than the optimum N fertilization level for rice ($90kg\;N\;ha^{-1}$). Excess green manure biomass above an optimum level can be removed and utilized either for incorporation into nearby cropland or for sale as fresh forage. Therefore, it is concluded that the application rate of LSM P50% is recommendable for the maximum biomass and nitrogen production from green manure crops in paddy.

Development of fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete (FRSCC): Towards an efficient utilization of quaternary composite binders and fibers

  • This study has been carried out in two-phases to develop Fiber Reinforced Self-Compacting Concrete (FRSCC) performance. In the first phase, the composition of the quaternary composite binder compromised CEM I 42.5N (58-70%), Rice Husk Ash (25-37%), quartz sand (2.5-7.5%) and limestone crushing waste (2.5-7.5%) were optimized. And in the second phase, the effect of two fiber types (steel brass-plated and basalt) was investigated on the SCC optimized with the optimum CB as disperse reinforcement at 6 different ratios of 1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, and 2.0% by weight of mix for each type. In this study, the theoretical principles of the synthesis of self-compacting dispersion-reinforced concrete have been developed which consists of optimizing structure-formation processes through the use of a mineral modifier, together with ground crushed cement in a vario-planetary mill to a specific surface area of 550 m2 / kg. The amorphous silica in the modifier composition intensifies the binding of calcium hydroxide formed during the hydration of C3S, helps reduce the basicity of the cement-composite, while reducing the growth of portlandite crystals. Limestone particles contribute to the formation of calcium hydrocarbonate and, together with fine ground quartz sand; act as microfiller, clogging the pores of the cement. Furthermore, the results revealed that the effect of fiber addition improves the mechanical properties of FRSCC. It was found that the steel fiber performed better than basalt fiber on tensile strength and modulus of elasticity; however, both fibers have the same performance on the first crack strength and sample destruction of FRSCC. It also illustrates that there will be an optimum percentage of fiber addition.

제지 슬러지 소각재를 이용한 소성 경량골재의 제조 (Manufacturing of Sintered Lightweight Aggregate using Paper Mill Sludge Ash)

  • 본 연구는 제지 슬러지 소각재의 보다 근본적이고 장기적인 처리방안으로 인공경량골재를 제조하여 고부가 자원으로의 개발과 대량으로 처리할 수 있는 기술에 관한 연구이다. 따라서 배합비, 성형 및 소성조건을 달리하여 골재를 제조하고 이에 따른 골재의 물성을 평가하고자 하였다. 실험결과 제지 슬러지 소각재 단독으로는 인공경량골재의 원료로 부적합하여 점토, 플라이 애쉬 등의 부원료의 첨가가 필요하였으며, 적정 배합비는 제지 슬러지 소각재 30~50 % , 점토 30~50 %, 플라이애쉬 0~40 %, 제지 슬러지 0~10 %, 산화철 2~3% 이었다. 또한 본 배합비를 이용하여 절건 비중이 약 0.6~l.4의 다양한 경량골재 제조가 가능하였다. 골재의 물성 시험 결과 10% 세립치 파쇄강도 및 흡수율은 5~10 ton 및 10~20%로 나타나 골재의 물성은 비구조용 및 구조용 인공경량골재로 적합하였으며, 외국제품에 비해서도 거의 동등한 물성을 나타내었다.

Mechanical properties and durability of roller-compacted concrete incorporating powdered and granulated blast furnace slag in frost regions

  • The mechanical properties and durability of concrete pavements may be degraded in extreme situations, resulting in the need for partial repair or total replacement. During the past few decades, there has been a growing body of research on substituting a portion of Portland cement with alternative cementitious materials for improving concrete properties. In this study, two different configurations of powdered and granulated blast furnace slag were implemented, replacing fine aggregates (by 12 wt.%) and Portland cement (by 0, 20, 40, and 60 wt.%) in the making of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) mixes. The specimens were fabricated to investigate the mechanical properties and durability specifications, involving freeze-thaw, salt-scaling, and water absorption resistance. The experimental results indicated that the optimum mechanical properties of RCC mixes could be achieved when 20-40 wt.% of powdered slag was added to concrete mixes containing slag aggregates. Accordingly, the increases in compressive, tensile, and flexural strengths were 45, 50, and 28%, in comparison to the control specimen at the age of 90 days. Also, incorporating 60 wt.% of powdered slag gave rise to the optimum mix plan in terms of freeze-thaw resistance such that a negligible strength degradation was experienced after 300 cycles. In addition, the optimal moisture content of the proposed RCC mixtures was measured to be in the range of 5 to 6.56%. Furthermore, the partial addition of granulated slag was found to be more advantageous than using entirely natural sand in the improvement of the mechanical and durability characteristics of all mixture plans.

Improvement in Fungicidal Activity of Ethaboxam by a Non-ionic Surfactant, Polyoxyethylene Cetyl Ether

  • Ethaboxam is a fungicide controlling plant diseases caused by Oomycetes. Efforts were made to improve its fungicidal activity applying formulation technology. Fungicidal activity of ethaboxam against cucumber downy mildew caused by Pseudoperonospora cubensis was improved by incorporating polyoxyethylene cetyl ether (PCE) in a wettable powder formulation. It was found that the optimum combination ratio of PCE and ethaboxam was 3:1, and a tank-mix of $150{\mu}g/ml$ of ethaboxam and $450{\mu}g/ml$ of PCE would be as good as the standard 25 % WP formulation diluted to $250{\mu}g/ml$ ethaboxam without PCE in controlling cucumber downy mildew. Based on this results, a wettable powder (WP) co-formulation containing 15% of ethaboxam and 45% of PCE was developed in this study, and tested for its performance in the fields. This co-formulation showed significant improvement in persistence of fungicidal activity and curative efficacy of ethaboxam against cucumber downy mildew. The improved control efficacy was also confirmed for control of grape downy mildew caused by Plasmopara viticola and potato late blight caused by Phytophthora infestans in the field tests.
