This thesis proposed an effective encryption method for the DCT-based image/video contents and made it possible to operate in a high speed by implementing it as an optimized hardware. By considering the increase in the amount of the calculation in the image/video compression, reconstruction and encryption, an partial encryption was performed, in which only the important information (DC and DPCM coefficients) were selected as the data to be encrypted. As the result, the encryption cost decreased when all the original image was encrypted. As the encryption algorithm one of the multi-mode AES, DES, or SEED can be used. The proposed encryption method was implemented in software to be experimented with TM-5 for about 1,000 test images. From the result, it was verified that to induce the original image from the encrypted one is not possible. At that situation, the decrease in compression ratio was only $1.6\%$. The hardware encryption system implemented in Verilog-HDL was synthesized to find the gate-level circuit in the SynopsysTM design compiler with the Hynix $0.25{\mu}m$ CMOS Phantom-cell library. Timing simulation was performed by Verilog-XL from CadenceTM, which resulted in the stable operation in the frequency above 100MHz. Accordingly, the proposed encryption method and the implemented hardware are expected to be effectively used as a good solution for the end-to-end security which is considered as one of the important problems.

Background: The purpose of this study was to assess the dosimetric and clinical feasibility of volumetric modulated arc based hypofractionated stereotactic radiotherapy (RapidArc) treatment for large acoustic schwannoma (AS >10cc). Materials and Methods: Ten AS patients were immobilized using BrainLab mask. They were subject to multimodality imaging (magnetic resonance and computed tomography) to contour target and organs at risk (brainstem and cochlea). Volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) based stereotactic plans were optimized in Eclipse (V11) treatment planning system (TPS) using progressive resolution optimizer-III and final dose calculations were performed using analytical anisotropic algorithm with 1.5 mm grid resolution. All AS presented in this study were treated with VMAT based HSRT to a total dose of 25Gy in 5 fractions (5fractions/week). VMAT plan contains 2-4 non-coplanar arcs. Treatment planning was performed to achieve at least 99% of PTV volume (D99) receives 100% of prescription dose (25Gy), while dose to OAR's were kept below the tolerance limits. Dose-volume histograms (DVH) were analyzed to assess plan quality. Treatments were delivered using upgraded 6 MV un-flattened photon beam (FFF) from Clinac-iX machine. Extensive pretreatment quality assurance measurements were carried out to report on quality of delivery. Point dosimetry was performed using three different detectors, which includes CC13 ion-chamber, Exradin A14 ion-chamber and Exradin W1 plastic scintillator detector (PSD) which have measuring volume of $0.13cm^3$, $0.009cm^3$ and $0.002cm^3$ respectively. Results: Average PTV volume of AS was 11.3cc (${\pm}4.8$), and located in eloquent areas. VMAT plans provided complete PTV coverage with average conformity index of 1.06 (${\pm}0.05$). OAR's dose were kept below tolerance limit recommend by American Association of Physicist in Medicine task group-101(brainstem $V_{0.5cc}$ < 23Gy, cochlea maximum < 25Gy and Optic pathway <25Gy). PSD resulted in superior dosimetric accuracy compared with other two detectors (p=0.021 for PSD.

In this study, we composed algorithm of DIAL(Differential Absorption Lidar). we investigated the absorption spectrum of $O_3$, S $O_2$ and N $O_2$ dependent on wavelengths using data base UV-Bank and determine the optimized wavelength model. Here, the selected optimal wavelengths are 292.00(λ$_{on}$ ), 295.20(λ$_{off}$) for $O_3$, 299.38(λ$_{on}$ ), 300.05(λ$_{off}$) for S $O_2$ and 448.00(λ$_{on}$ ), 449.85(λ$_{off}$) for N $O_2$. In particular, we established the supposed model of DIAL and simulated the error of measuring distance using the selected optimal wavelength. In the model-I with telescope of 300 mm diameter, laser energy of 3 mJ and transmission of 10000 shots, maximum distances are 4 km for $O_3$ measurement and 5 km for S $O_2$ and N $O_2$ measurements. Also, in the model-II with telescope of 600 mm diameter, laser energy of 30 mJ and transmission of 10000 shots, maximum distances are 13 km for S $O_2$ and N $O_2$ measurements.ments.
Long-term high-resolution hydro-meteorological data has been recognized as an essential element in establishing the water resources plan. The increasing demand for spatial precipitation in various areas such as climate, hydrology, geography, ecology, and environment is apparent. However, potential limitations of the existing area-weighted and numerical interpolation methods for interpolating precipitation in high altitude areas remains less explored. The proposed PRISM (Precipitation-Elevation Regressions on Independent Slopes Model) model can produce gridded precipitation that can adequately consider topographic characteristics (e.g., slope and altitude), which are not substantially included in the existing interpolation techniques. In this study, the PRISM model was optimized with SCEM-UA (Shuffled Complex Evolution Metropolis-University of Arizona) to produce daily gridded precipitation. As a result, the minimum impact radius was calculated 9.10 km and the maximum 34.99 km. The altitude of coastal weighted was 681.03 m, the minimum and maximum distances from coastal were 9.85 km and 38.05 km. The distance weighting factor was calculated to be about 0.87, confirming that the PRISM result was very sensitive to distance. The results showed that the proposed PRISM model could reproduce the observed statistical properties reasonably well.

This study was focused on the three-dimensional convergence modeling that can multilaterally analyze internal and external shapes of the Sam-Chongtong Hand Canon by optical precision scanning optimized for acquiring the surface shape and X-ray CT scanning used for obtaining the internal shape. First, the scanning results were converted by compatible extension, after which three-dimensional deviation analysis was conducted to verify mutual conformities. Accordingly, most (56.98%) deviations between the two scanning models was found be ±0.1mm. This result did not influence registration and merging based on the ICP algorithm. The merged data exhibited the external surface color, detailed shapes, internal width, and structure of the hand canon. The three-dimensional model based on optical surface scanning and X-ray CT scanning can be used for traditional technique interpretation as well as digital documentation of cultural heritage. In the future, it will contribute to deliver accessible scientific information of exhibits for visitors.
Computational grid provides the environment which integrates v 따 ious computing resources. Grid environment is more complex and various than traditional computing environment, and consists of various resources where various software packages are installed in different platforms. For more efficient usage of computational grid, therefore, some kind of integration is required to manage grid resources more effectively. In this paper, a global scheduler is suggested, which integrates grid resources at meta level with applying various scheduling policies. The global scheduler consists of a mechanical part and three policies. The mechanical part mainly search user queues and resource queues to select appropriate job and computing resource. An algorithm for the mechanical part is defined and optimized. Three policies are user selecting policy, resource selecting policy, and executing policy. These can be defined newly and replaced with new one freely while operation of computational grid is temporarily holding. User selecting policy, for example, can be defined to select a certain user with higher priority than other users, resource selecting policy is for selecting the computing resource which is matched well with user's requirements, and executing policy is to overcome communication overheads on grid middleware. Finally, various algorithms for user selecting policy are defined only in terms of user fairness, and their performances are compared.
Various studies are being conducted to achieve efficient routing and reduce energy consumption in wireless sensor networks where energy replacement is difficult. Among routing mechanisms, the clustering technique has been known to be most efficient. The clustering technique consists of the elements of cluster construction and data transmission. The elements that construct a cluster are repeated in regular intervals in order to equalize energy consumption among sensor nodes in the cluster. The algorithms for selecting a cluster head node and arranging cluster member nodes optimized for the cluster head node are complex and requires high energy consumption. Furthermore, energy consumption for the data transmission elements is proportional to $d^2$ and $d^4$ around the crossover region. This paper proposes a means of reducing energy consumption by increasing the efficiency of the cluster construction elements that are regularly repeated in the cluster technique. The proposed approach maintains the number of sensor nodes in a cluster at a constant level by equally partitioning the region where nodes with density considerations will be allocated in cluster construction, and reduces energy consumption by selecting head nodes near the center of the cluster. It was confirmed through simulation experiments that the proposed approach consumes less energy than the LEACH algorithm.

Hepatic vessel tree is the key structure for hepatic disease diagnosis and liver surgery planning. Especially, it is used to evaluate the donors' and recipients' liver for the LDLT(Living Donors Liver Transplantation) and estimate the volumes of left and right hepatic lobes for securing their life in the LDLT. In this study, we propose a method to apply canny edge detection that is not affected by noise to the liver images for automatic segmentation of hepatic vessels tree in contrast abdominal MDCT image. Using histograms and average pixel values of the various liver CT images, optimized parameters of the Canny algorithm are determined. It is more time-efficient to use the common parameters than to change parameters manually according to CT images. Candidates of hepatic vessels are extracted by threshold filtering around the detected the vessel edge. Finally, using a system which detects the true-negatives and the false-positives in horizontal and vertical direction, the true-negatives are added in candidate of hepatic vessels and the false-positives are removed. As a result of the process, the various hepatic vessel trees of patients are accurately reconstructed in 3D.

In the mobile cloud computing, the mobile node should request and receive the services while being connected. In PMIPv6, all packets sent by mobile nodes or correspondent nodes are transferred through the local mobility anchor. This unnecessary detour still results in high delivery latency and significant processing cost. Several PMIPv6 route optimization schemes have been proposed to solve this issue. However, they also suffer from the high signaling costs and handover latency when determining the optimized path. We propose the route optimization handover scheme which adopts the prediction algorithm in PFMIPv6. In the proposed scheme, the new mobile access gateway establishes the bi-directional tunnel with the correspondent node's MAG using the context message when the mobile node's handover is imminent. This tunnel may eliminate the need of separate route optimization procedure. Hence, the proposed scheme can reduce the signaling cost than other conventional schemes do. Analytical performance evaluation is preformed to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. The result shows that our scheme is more effective than other schemes.

In this paper, a compact circularly polarized metamaterial patch antenna using cross aperture-coupled feed is proposed. The CP antenna utilizes the -1 mode that is induced by the composit right-left handed(CRLH) transmission line. Since the -1 mode has the same properties with the $TM_{010}$ mode of the conventional patch antenna, the circular polarization(CP) can be realized. If two orthogonal modes are excited with $90^{\circ}$ phase difference, the CP property can be obtained. In order to obtain two orthogonal modes and $90^{\circ}$ phase difference, 4 mushroom structures having the shape of square are employed. The width and length of the cross aperture are optimized through the design algorithm. The fabricated antenna is based on RT/duroid5880 substrate and the total area of the 4 mushroom is $0.25{\lambda}_0{\times}0.25{\lambda}_0$. The center frequency of the LHCP(Left-Handed Circular Polarization) antenna is measured as 1.622 GHz and circular polarization bandwidth(3 dB) is measured as 3 MHz. The center frequency of the RHCP(Right-Handed Circular Polarization) antenna is measured as 1.609 GHz and circular polarization bandwidth (3 dB) is measured as 3 MHz, respectively. The measured radiation efficiency of LHCP antenna is 61.1 % and the measured radiation efficiency of RHCP antenna is 54.5 %.
