Load Distribution over Multipath for MPLS Networks (MPLS 네트워크에서의 다중 경로 부하 분산 방안)

  • IETF에서는 차세대 인터넷 기술인 MPLS를 도입한 망에서의 다중경로 라우팅 및 부하 분산 방식으로서 MPLS OMP(Optimized MultiPath)를 제안하였다. 그런데, MPLS OMP는 다중 경로 집합을 계산하고 이 집합에 속하는 경로들의 활용률이 동일해 지는 것을 목표로 부하를 골고루 분산하기 때문에 긴 경로와 짧은 경로가 동일하게 활용되어 대역폭을 낭비할 수 있다는 단점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 좀 더 MPLS 네트워크 자원을 효과적으로 사용하는 다중 경로 라우팅 방식을 제안하였다. 제안한 다중 경로 라우팅 방식은 최단경로의 활용률이 낮을때는 최단경로를 사용하고, 최단경로의 활용률이 높아지면 좀 더 길지만 활용률이 낮은 대체 경로 집합을 계산하여 대체 경로 집합의 경로들 중 흡수와 활용률을 반영해 무작위로 한 경로를 선택한다. 또한, 링크가 낭비되는 것을 막기 위해 링크의 활용률이 클수록 더 짧은 경로에 의해서만 사용되도록 제한한다. 그리고 계산한 대체 경로 집합의 활용률이 임계치 이상인 경우에는 대체 경로 집합의 크기를 늘린다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제한하는 방식과 단순한 최단 경로 방식을 비교한 결과, 제안하는 방식의 셀 손실률이 낮고, 연결 수락률이 높음을 볼 수 있었다.

Non-isolated Bidirectional Soft-switching SEPIC/ZETA Converter with Reduced Ripple Currents

  • A novel non-isolated bidirectional soft-switching SEPIC/ZETA converter with reduced ripple currents is proposed and characterized in this study. Two auxiliary switches and an inductor are added to the original bidirectional SEPIC/ZETA components to form a new direct power delivery path between input and output. The proposed converter can be operated in the forward SEPIC and reverse ZETA modes with reduced ripple currents and increased voltage gains attributed to the optimized selection of duty ratios. All switches in the proposed converter can be operated at zero-current-switching turn-on and/or turn-off through soft current commutation. Therefore, the switching and conduction losses of the proposed converter are considerably reduced compared with those of conventional bidirectional SEPIC/ZETA converters. The operation principles and characteristics of the proposed converter are analyzed in detail and verified by the simulation and experimental results.

  • I use Jansen mechanism to reduce the unnecessary motion of car body and improve the motion performance capability in the rugged terrain To reduce the unnecessary motion, the positional variation of a main body of vehicle should be minimized. In order to reduce the change of height and control the speed at every moment when vehicle move, 16 legs or more are installed on a crankshaft and the paths of leg motions need to be considered in the rugged terrain. The vehicle will be optimized so that it produces a sufficient speed and torque for practical use. Finally, I designed proper body with Edison simulation. The simulation is good for beginners of mechanism design.

Artificial Landmark based Pose-Graph SLAM for AGVs in Factory Environments (공장환경에서 AGV를 위한 인공표식 기반의 포즈그래프 SLAM)

  • This paper proposes a pose-graph based SLAM method using an upward-looking camera and artificial landmarks for AGVs in factory environments. The proposed method provides a way to acquire the camera extrinsic matrix and improves the accuracy of feature observation using a low-cost camera. SLAM is conducted by optimizing AGV's explored path using the artificial landmarks installed on the ceiling at various locations. As the AGV explores, the pose nodes are added based on the certain distance from odometry and the landmark nodes are registered when AGV recognizes the fiducial marks. As a result of the proposed scheme, a graph network is created and optimized through a G2O optimization tool so that the accumulated error due to the slip is minimized. The experiment shows that the proposed method is robust for SLAM in real factory environments.

  • In this study, the capacity change of supercapacitor was investigated by surface treatments of carbon nanotubes as electrode materials with various methods, such as ball-milling, $KMnO_4$ and $H_2SO_4/HNO_3$ acid mixture. Surface treatments generated a number of defects on the surface of carbon nanotubes by attacking on $\pi$ bond in graphene layer, at which carboxyl groups were introduced. These hydrophilic groups could enhance the capacity by increasing the wettability of carbon nanotube surfaces. However, a drawback of the surface treatment was the decrease of conductivity by the loss of conduction path in graphene layer due to the defect formation. The surface treatment condition should be therefore optimized between hydrophilicity increase and conductivity decrease.

  • Generally the noise and vibration characteristics of 4WD vehicle is closely related to the characteristics of driveline such as bending mode, torsional mode, unbalance and nonuniformity of propeller shaft. In this paper the 4WD vehicle which has body vibration problem in high speed driving condition was tested. The sources of the body vibration and its transfer path are investigated by experimental approach. According to the experimental assessment, the body vibration is caused by the nonuniformity of joint of propeller shaft. And this paper presents a kinematic model of a vehicle driveline for the optimization of a driveline characteristics. Finally the optimized result of the drive line has been verified through the experiment.

  • The purpose of the current study was to evaluate a spectrum formulation set employed to modify the neutron spectrum of D-D fusion neutrons in a IS plasma focus device using GEANT4, MCNPX2.6, and FLUKA codes. The set consists of a moderator, reflector, collimator and filters of fast neutron and gamma radiation, which placed on the path of 2.45 MeV neutron energy. The treated neutrons eliminate cancerous tissue with minimal damage to other healthy tissue in a method called neutron therapy. The system optimized for a total neutron yield of 109 (n/s). The numerical results indicate that the GEANT4 code for the cubic geometry in the Beam Shaping Assembly 3 (BSA3) is the best choice for the energy of epithermal neutrons.

  • A Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of moving nodes that communicate and collaborate without relying on a pre-existing infrastructure. In this type of network, nodes can freely move in any direction. Routing in this sort of network has always been problematic because of the mobility of nodes. Most existing protocols use simple routing algorithms and criteria, while another important criterion is path selection. The existing protocols should be optimized to resolve these deficiencies. 'Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)' is an influenced method as it resembles the social behavior of a flock of birds. Genetic algorithms (GA) are search algorithms that use natural selection and genetic principles. This paper applies these optimization models to the OLSR routing protocol and compares their performances across different metrics and varying node sizes. The experimental analysis shows that the Genetic Algorithm is better compared to PSO. The comparison was carried out with the help of the simulation tool NS2, NAM (Network Animator), and xgraph, which was used to create the graphs from the trace files.

  • This study analyzed the process related to the linkage between on-site work targeting the middle size Precast Concrete(PC) public apartment building with beam-column system and prepared on-site works flow relationship diagram in which the wet process consists of core Critical Path(CP) to prepare a network diagram of the Precedence Diagram Method(PDM). Through this study, it is expected that it will be possible to maximize the project management capability by suggesting a method to minimize risk factors and the optimized process management of the beam-column system PC public apartment building.

Design and optimization of layout patterns for rock TBM cutterheads

  • This paper presents a geomechanical framework for designing and optimizing layout patterns of cutterheads for rock Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), aiming to enhance their engineering performance. By examining the forces and moments exerted by rock, the study addresses geometric constraints associated with cutter boxes in key regions of the cutterhead, including the center, face, and gage areas, as well as the three-dimensional effects of cutterhead curvature on the geometric constraints of the back of the cutter boxes in the gage area. Novel formulas are proposed for determining the center points of cutter boxes and calculating both the minimum angular spacing and distance spacing between consecutive cutter boxes along a spiral path. The paper outlines an optimized layout design process for four cutterhead configurations: random, random paired, radial, and double spiral designs. Examples are provided to illustrate the results of applying these designs. The findings underscore the efficacy of the proposed methods in achieving a uniform and symmetrical distribution of cutters and buckets on the cutterhead surface. This approach effectively eliminates boundary overlap and minimizes unbalanced forces and moments. From a geomechanical standpoint, this framework offers a robust strategy for enhancing the performance and reliability of TBM cutterheads in rock tunneling operations.
