  • This investigation presents a method to design an optimal shape of a matching waveguide connecting two waveguides having different impedances. The design objective is to maximize power transmission through the waveguide system. When an incident wave impinges on an elastic waveguide system consisting of waveguides of different impedances, all of the incident wave power may not pass through due to the mechanical impedance. Therefore, the maximization of the transmitted power through a waveguide difficult to achieve without a systematic design method. In this work, the optimal shape design of a matching waveguide connecting two waveguides of different impedances is formulated as a shape optimization problem. If the material of the matching waveguide is given, its shape is the only parameter controlling the transmission power. Relatively simple one dimensional elastic wave transmission problems will be considered in this work, but the underlying methodology and the related physics can be clearly demonstrated. The influences of initial configurations as well as the target frequencies on the optimized shapes will be also investigated.

가상 기계 코드를 위한 패턴 매칭 최적화기 (Pattern Matching Optimizer for Virtual Machine Codes)

  • 가상 기계란 하드웨어로 이루어진 물리적 시스템과는 달리 소프트웨어로 제작되어 논리적인 시스템 구성을 갖는 개념적인 컴퓨터이다. 그러나 가상 기계는 실제 프로세서로 처리하는 것보다 실행 속도가 매우 느리기 때문에 실행되는 코드의 최적화가 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 가상 기계 코드 최적화기의 실험대상으로 EVM(Embedded Virtual Machine)의 중간 코드인 SIL(Standard Intermediate Language)을 이용하였다. 현존하는 최적화 방법론에 관한 연구를 통하여 가상 기계 코드 특성을 고려한 최적화 방법론을 제시하고, 최적화된 코드를 생성하기 위한 코드 최적화기를 설계하고 구현하였다. 가상 기계 코드 최적화기는 주어진 패턴을 찾아서 패턴에 해당하는 부분을 최적화 코드로 바꾸어, 전체 코드의 크기를 줄이고 실행 속도의 개선효과를 가진다. 또한, 구현된 최적화기의 실험 결과를 도출하였다.

  • In this paper, we solve the problem of designing a robust optimal controller which minimizes the H$\infty$-norm of the mixed sensitivity function matrix for linear multivariable systems. For a given minimized value, ${\gamma}$>o, an algorithm of finding all stabilizing controllers, such that the H$\infty$-norm of the mixed sensitivity function matrix is less than ${\gamma}$, is developed. The proposed algorithm, which is based on the model-matching and the interpolation theory, can be used for the H$\infty$-optimization problem.

  • In this paper we proposed an algorithm for rotation-invariant pattern recognition and rotated angle estimation between two patterns by employing selective template matching. Generally template matching has been used in determining the location of pattern but template matching requires a number of calculating correlation. To reduce the number of correlation we used steady-state genetic algorithm which is effective in optimization problem. We apply this method to distinguish specific pattern from similar coin patterns and estimate rotated angle between patterns. Our result leads us to the conclusion that proposed method performed faster than classical template matching

  • The principle of matching is a new framework for control systems design that requires the matching between the control system and the environment (the source of exogenous inputs). The principle is especially useful for the design of the critical control systems where the responses of the control systems should be kept below the prescribed values.   • This paper presents new sufficient conditions to an intelligent digital redesign (IDR). The purpose of the IDR is to effectively convert an existing continuous-time fuzzy controller to an equivalent sampled-data fuzzy controller in the sense of the state-matching. The state-matching error between the closed-loop trajectories is carefully analyzed using the integral quadratic functional approach. The problem of designing the sampled-data fuzzy controller to minimize the state-matching error as well as to guarantee the stability is formulated and solved as the convex optimization problem with linear matrix inequality (LMI) constraints.

재료 물성 최적화를 통한 PS 강연선의 형상 단순화에 관한 해석적 연구 (An Analytical Study on the Simplification of the Shape of PS Tendon Through the Optimization of Material Properties)

  • This paper derives material properties of steel bars that simulate the distribution of stress and strain of prestressed tendons used in Prestressed concrete(PSC) girders and presents an optimal material model. ABAQUS software was used to establish the 3D solid model of the PSC girder and strand wire rope for a PS(Prestressed) tendon. Then the model of steel wire rope was imported into the Isight interface plugin directly through the ABAQUS and the Data Matching. In ABAQUS, the contact pairs were established, the models were meshed, the constraints were applied to solve the finite element model and an axial tension of 0.5m/s was loaded to analyze the stress and deformation distributions in the normal working range of the PS strand wire rope. In Data Matching, classical experimental data is fitted to the optimal material properties through finite element analysis and multi-objective optimization. The results show that the steel bar with optimal material properties presents a similar linear area and stress distribution with the PS tendon.

응용환경 적응을 위한 온톨로지 매칭 방법론에 관한 연구 (Adaptive Ontology Matching Methodology for an Application Area)

  • 온톨로지 매칭 기술은 시맨틱 웹을 비롯한 여러 분야에서 중요한 기술 중 하나이다. 온톨로지 매칭은 두 개의 온톨로지를 입력으로 받고, 이를 몇 개의 매개변수로 구성된 특정 알고리즘을 이용하여 두 온톨로지 간의 매칭 관계를 알아내는 절차를 말한다. 온톨로지 매칭은 대용량 온톨로지의 통합이나, 지능화된 통합 검색의 구현 및 여러응용프로그램에 의한 도메인의 공유 등 여러 분야에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있다. 일반적으로 온톨로지 매칭의 성능은 온톨로지 매칭이 사용되는 환경과 관계없이 매칭 결과에 대한 측정만으로 평가되어 왔다. 따라서 대부분의 연구는 매칭 결과를 최적화하기 위해 매개변수를 조절하는 것에 집중하였다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 측정방법에 따른 높은 측정결과만을 목표로 하지 않고 온톨로지의 성격과 매칭 결과의 사용 목적에 따라 매개변수를 적절히 변화시켜야 한다는 점에 주목하고, 주어진 환경에 맞게 매개변수를 조정하는 방법론을 제안하고자 한다.

  • In this paper, we present a robust Two Degree of Freedom (TDF) $H_{\infty}$ controllers for a missile system. The feedback controller is designed to meet robust stability and disturbance rejection specifications while the prefilter is used to improve the robust model matching properties of the closed loop system. As the perturbed model, we use the normalized coprim factor perturbations. These controllers are designed using $H_{\infty}$ optimization procedures, and applied to a missile model via simulation.

Optimization of block-matching and 3D filtering (BM3D) algorithm in brain SPECT imaging using fan beam collimator: Phantom study

  • The purpose of this study is to model and optimize the block-matching and 3D filtering (BM3D) algorithm and to evaluate its applicability in brain single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) images using a fan beam collimator. For quantitative evaluation of the noise level, the coefficient of variation (COV) and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were used, and finally, a no-reference-based evaluation parameter was used for optimization of the BM3D algorithm in the brain SPECT images. As a result, optimized results were derived when the sigma values of the BM3D algorithm were 0.15, 0.2, and 0.25 in brain SPECT images acquired for 5, 10, and 15 s, respectively. In addition, when the sigma value of the optimized BM3D algorithm was applied, superior results were obtained compared with conventional filtering methods. In particular, we confirmed that the COV and CNR of the images obtained using the BM3D algorithm were improved by 2.40 and 2.33 times, respectively, compared with the original image. In conclusion, the usefulness of the optimized BM3D algorithm in brain SPECT images using a fan beam collimator has been proven, and based on the results, it is expected that its application in various nuclear medicine examinations will be possible.
