타부탐색, 메모리, 싸이클 탐지를 이용한 배낭문제 풀기

  • In solving multi-level knapsack problems, conventional heuristic approaches often assume a short-sighted plan within a static decision enviornment to find a near optimal solution. These conventional approaches are inflexible, and lack the ability to adapt to different problem structures. This research approaches the problem from a totally different viewpoint, and a new method is designed and implemented. This method performs intelligent actions based on memories of historic data and learning. These actions are developed not only by observing the attributes of the optimal solution, the solution space, and its corresponding path to the optimal solution, but also by applying human intelligence, experience, and intuition with respect to the search strategies. The method intensifies, or diversifies the search process appropriately in time and space. In order to create a good neighborhood structure, this method uses two powerful choice rules that emphasize the impact of candidate variables on the current solution with respect to their profit contribution. A side effect of so-called "pseudo moves", similar to "aspirations", supports these choice rules during the evaluation process. For the purpose of visiting as many relevant points as possible, strategic oscillation between feasible and infeasible solutions around the boundary is applied for intensification. To avoid redundant moves, short-term (tabu-lists), intermediate-term (cycle detection), and long-term (recording frequency and significant solutions for diversification) memories are used. Test results show that among the 45 generated problems (these problems pose significant or insurmountable challenges to exact methods) the approach produces the optimal solutions in 39 cases.lutions in 39 cases.

  • In this paper presents the method of the Optimal Mobile Router Designation (OMRD) using QM(Quality of service Manager) in the nested mobile network. QM is positioned on TLMR (Top Level Mobile Router) in the nested mobile network and manages the information of all MRs in the mobile network. When MN (Mobile Node) moves to a new MR, OMRD (Optimal Mobile Router Designation) selects the candidate MRs group and decides an optimal MR considering the mobile characteristics. OMRD reduces maximally the production of handover and removes the transmission delay of a new call and a handover call resulted from the wireless insufficient resource. Also, it prevents the concentration in a specific MR and maintains equally the load of the whole network.

  • The paper proposes an optimal sizing method of a customer's battery energy storage system (BESS) which aims at managing the electricity demand of the customer to minimize electricity cost under the time of use(TOU) pricing. Peak load limit of the customer and charging and discharging schedules of the BESS are optimized on annual basis to minimize annual electricity cost, which consists of peak load related basic cost and actual usage cost. The optimal scheduling is used to assess the maximum cost savings for all sets of candidate capacities of BESS. An optimal size of BESS is determined from the cost saving curves via capacity of BESS. Case study uses real data from an apartment-type factory customer and shows how the proposed method can be employed to optimally design the size of BESS for customer demand management.

  • A computer simulation model for optimum design and determination of optimal operational parameter values for modern container terminal systems was developed through the use of GASP-IV, a subset of SLAM. Input data reflecting current system configuration and operational practices at Pusan container terminal was used to test the model, which resulted in its validation. Possibilities for application of the model in areas of candidate system comparisons, operational parameter testing and forecasting operational performance under future traffic situations, are explained.

  • In this paper, we propose a split criterion for binary decision trees. The proposed criterion selects the optimal split by measuring the prediction success of the candidate splits at a given node. The criterion is shown to have the property of exclusive preference. Examples are given to demonstrate the properties of the criterion.

  • This paper aims at the problem that design the network of Rig-star type with the minimum cost, which the Ring is composed of the selected nodes(concentrators) among the several candidate nodes on the network and other nodes(terminals) is connected to the Ring by star subnetwork. Especially, we consider the terminal reliability in network design problem. We develop the heuristic algorithm for network design problem to obtain the near optimal(best) solution for problem. We use an add-heuristic method and 2-exchange method in developing the heuristic algorithm.

  • In this study, Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) are investigated as a practical solution to the challenge of designing an optimal platform for implementing algorithms in a wireless sensing unit for structuralhealth monitoring. Inherent advantages, such as tremendous processing power, coupled with reconfigurable and flexible architecture render FPGAs a prime candidate for the processing core in an optimal wireless sensor unit, especially when handling Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and system identification algorithms. This paper presents an effort to create a proof-of-concept unit, wherein an off-the-shelf FPGA development board, available at a price comparable to a microprocessor development board, was adopted. Data processing functions, including windowing, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), and peak detection, were implemented in the FPGA using a Matlab Simulink-based high-level abstraction tool rather than hardware descriptive language. Simulations and laboratory tests were carried out to validate the design.

A Study on Determination of Optimal Standard Sizes for Military Combat Fatigues (전투복 최적 표준 호수 결정에 관한 연구)

  • Generally, the standard sizes of military combat fatigues should be determined by considering the coverage rate in order to minimize the military personnel who can't put on the ready made military combat fatigues. The coverage rate should be increased by the longer interval of the standard size but the satisfactory rate will be decreased due to the longer interval of size. This study develops a method selecting optimal standard sizes of the military combat fatigues in order to maximize the satisfactory rate that insures the coverage rate to meet a given level for ready made military combat fatigues. This method selects candidate standard sizes at second and finally, establishes a 0-1 inter programming model. The result shows that the method increases both coverage and satisfactory rate more than those of the previous method.

  • In a model-based sampling problem, it often happens that the functional form of variance of error terms in regression model cannot be specified in an exact form. The goal of error-robust sampling design will be to minimize the 'ill effects' resulting from a lack of knowledge of the error structure. A sampling criterion, which is optimal if it minimizes the average of an inefficiency measure when taken with respect to all candidate error structures, is proposed and a computer algorithm is developed for construction of optimal sampling plans. Auditing problem is of particular relevance because of the uncertainty that currently clouds specification of the error structure.
