Design of the Reconfigurable Load Distribution Control Allocator

  • This paper proposes the load distribution control allocation technique. The proposed method is designed by combining a conventional control allocation method with load distribution ability in order to reduce the stress acting on ailerons. By designing the weighting matrix as a function of the load distribution rule, the optimal deflection angles of each surface to satisfy both control goal and load distribution can be achieved. Moreover, rule based fault-tolerant control technique is also proposed. The rules are generated by considering both dominant control surfaces and the ratio of load distribution among surfaces. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated through numerical simulations.

  • Steganography is the technique of hiding the existence of a secret message that is communicated hiddenly. Generally, the main objectives of this paper is to develop newer and more sophisticated steganographic techniques based on perceptual transparency, robustness and capacity of the hidden data. This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of image steganography techniques and proposes an effective method. As a result, the images steganography technique based on good ELSB and DCT which applies the rearranged key is secure and effective.

DEM Estimation Using Two Stage Stereo Matching Method (2단계 스테레오 정합기법을 이용한 DEM 추정)

  • A stereo matching has been an important tool for reconstructing three dimensional terrain. By using stereo matching technique, DEM(Digital Elevaton Map) can be generated by the disparity from a reference image to a target image. Generally disparity map can be evaluated by matching the reference image to the target image and if the role of the reference and the target are interchanged, a different DEM can be obtained. In this paper, we propose a new fusion technique to estimate the optimal DEM by eliminating the false DEM due to occlusion. To detect the false DEM, we utilize two measure of accuracy: self-consistency and cross-correlation score. We test the effectiveness of the proposed methods with a quantitative analysis using simulated images. Experimental result indicate that the proposed methods show 24.4% and 33.1% improvement over either DEM.

  • The major operations of Evolutionary Computation include crossover, mutation, competition and selection. Although selection does not create new individuals like crossover or mutation, a poor selection mechanism may lead to problems such as taking a long time to reach an optimal solution or even not finding it at all. In view of this, this paper proposes a hybrid Evolutionary Programming (EP) algorithm that exhibits a strong capability to move toward the global optimum even when stuck at a local minimum using a synergistic combination of the following three basic ideas. First, a "local selection" technique is used in conjunction with the normal tournament selection to help escape from a local minimum. Second, the mutation step has been improved with respect to the Fast Evolutionary Programming technique previously developed in our research group. Finally, the crossover and mutation operations of the Genetic Algorithm have been added as a parallel independent branch of the search operation of an EP to enhance search diversity.

Relation between Composition and Properties of $Na_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$Glasses Determined from Experimental Design (실험계획법에 의한 $Na_2O-Al_2O_3-SiO_2$계 유리의 조성과 물성관계)

  • A relation between composition and properties of Na2O-Al2O3-SiO2 glasses was investigated with application of the extreme vertical design. Properties investigated in this study include glass transition temperature density refractive index thermal expansion electrical conductivity bending strength and hardness, Most of the quadratic models fitted on property data were statistically significant. The properties estimated from the fitted equation agreed well with the measured properties. The estimated properties were compared with those reported by other investigators. Additional composition except for those of extreme vertices were needed to yield a slightly better result for the simple system such as a temary system. In addition an optimal composition on each property could be calculated by using optimization technique on result obtained from the fitted quadratic models.

  • A posterior 3-portal arthroscopic approach with the patient in the prone position provides a novel and optimal approach for isolated subtalar arthrodesis. This approach facilitates access to the posterior talocalcaneal facet and facilitates safe access with regard to the posteromedial neuromuscular bundle. The technique involves prone positioning, establishment of two posterolateral portals and one posteromedial portal, arthroscopic posterior talocalcaneal facet debridement, percutaneous morcellized bone grafting and internal screw fixation. Preliminary results have shown high patient satisfaction, an excellent fusion rate and less postoperative morbidity than open subtalar arthrodesis.

Matrix Game with Z-numbers

  • In this paper, a matrix game is considered in which the elements are represented as Z-numbers. The objective is to formalize the human capability for solving decision-making problems in uncertain situations. A ranking method of Z-numbers is proposed and used to define pure and mixed strategies. These strategies are then applied to find the optimal solution to the game problem with an induced pay off matrix using a min max, max min algorithm and the multi-section technique. Numerical examples are given in support of the proposed method.

  • Track shoes improve the off-road driving ability of tanks. The strength of the track shoe body directly affects the driving ability of tanks, self-propelled artillery, and armored vehicles. In this study, the design technique for track shoe body was investigated. To select the optimal design of track shoe body, three track shoe body models were suggested and compared. Tensile strength was calculated using computer-aided engineering (CAE) analysis. Compressive tests were conducted using the original tank sprocket because sprocket compression is critical to the lifespan of the track shoe body. As a result, one track shoe body design was selected and the process of track shoe body design was described.

  • Code obfuscation is a technique that protects the abstract data contained in a program from malicious reverse engineering and various obfuscation methods have been proposed for obfuscating intention. As the abstract data of control flow about programs is important to clearly understand whole program, many control flow obfuscation transformations have been introduced. Generally, inlining is a compiler optimization which improves the performance of programs by reducing the overhead of calling invocation. In code obfuscation, inlining is used to protect the abstract data of control flow. In this paper, we define new control flow complexity metric based on entropy theory and N-Scope metric, and then apply genetic algorithm to obtain optimal inlining results, based on the defined metric.

  • Exploration in microelectromechanical systems(MEMS) and nanotechnology requires evaluation techniques suitable for sub-micron length scale so that thermal and mechanical properties of novel materials can be investigated for optimal design of miro/nanostructures. The ultrafast optical pump-probe technique provides a contact-free and non-destructive way to characterize nanoscale thin-films, and its ultrahigh temporal resolution enables the study of heat-transport phenomena down to a sub-picosecond regime. This paper reviews the principle of optical pump-probe technique and introduces its application to the area of micro/nano-NDE.
