Femtocell provides better coverage and higher spectrum efficiency in areas rarely covered by macrocells. However, serious two-tier interference emerging from randomly deploying femtocells may create dead zones where the service is unavailable for macro-users. In this paper, we present adopting cognitive radio spectrum overlay to avoid intra-tier interference and incorporating spectrum underlay and overlay to coordinate cross-tier interference. It is a novel centralized control strategy appropriate for both uplink and downlink transmission. We introduce the application of proper spectrum sharing strategy plus optimal power allocation to address the issue of OFDM-based femtocells interference-limited downlink transmission, along with, a low-complexity suboptimal solution proposed. Simulation results illustrate the proposed optimal scheme achieves the highest transmission rate on successfully avoiding two-tier interference, and outperforms the traditional spectrum underlay or spectrum overlay, via maximizing the opportunity to transmit. Moreover, the strength of our proposed schemes is further demonstrated by comparison with previous classic power allocation methods, in terms of transmission rate, computational complexity and signal peak-to-average power ratio.
Recently, the more potential waste sites are being required as increasing the demand of better human life. But the construction of waste disposals has many restrictions because of lack of good quality clay and high cost of liners. So, in this study, we studied the liner materials to develop more cheaper soil liner that can be satisfied the environmental criterion for the coefficient of permeability and shear strength. A series of compaction test and triaxial (consolidation, permeability, and shear) tests were performed to obtain the optimized weight ratio of Bentonite-Soil mixture (B/S) including the least amount of bentonite. A series of soil tests were performed to acquire the appropriate weathered granite soil-bentonite mixture that is satisfied the environmental criterion of soil liner($k=1{\times}10^{-7}cm/sec$). At first, weathered granite soils were classified with four different particle-size soils, and B/S ratio was increased as 5% step for each particle-size. The test results showed that in case of weathered granite soil passing through No. 100 sieve, B/S=15% satisfied the soil liner criterion. The measured coefficient of permeability and the Chapuis's two equations were also compared. And a predicting equation for the coefficient of permeability was suggested, which is suitable for the mixture soil with the B/S ratio used in this study. The optimal weight ratio for the mixture soils used in this study was 15% in the both cases of permeability and shear strength.
In this study, evaluation and consideration of domestic/overseas design, construction, and quality control performed by the authors on the deep cement mixing method were performed, and improvements for the development of the DCM method were suggested in the future. As a result of this study, it was found that the cross-sectional area correction for strength is required during the laboratory test of mix proportion, and caution is required because the extrapolation method may lead to different results from the actual one. Applicable design methods should be selected in consideration of both the improvement ratio and the type of improvement during design, and it was confirmed that the allowable compressive strength to which the safety factor was applied refers to the standard value for stability review and not the design parameters. In the case of the stress concentration ratio, rather than applying a conventional value, it was possible to perform economical design by calculating the experimental and theoretical stress concentration ratio reflecting the design conditions. In the case where pre-boring is expected during construction, if the increased water content is not large compared to the original, there were cases where a major problem did not occur even if the result that did not consider the increase in water content was used. In addition, it was confirmed that when the ratio of the top treatment length to the improved length is high, a small amount of design cement contents per unit length can be injected during construction. In the case of quality control, it was evaluated that D/4~2D/4 for single-axis and D/4 point for multi-axis were optimal for coring of grouting mixtures. As an item for quality control, it is judged that the standard that considers the TCR along with the unconfined compressive strength of grouting mixtures is more suitable for the domestic situation.
High fluidity concrete needs high dosage of superplasticizer to acquire sufficient fluidity and high contents of fine powder and viscosity agents to prevent segregation. But it requires high manufacturing cost and has difficult in quality control. Therefore, in this paper, determination of optimal mixture proportion of segregation type superplasticizer for high fluidity concrete and manufacturing high fluidity concrete by applying developed segregation reducing type superplasticizer are discussed using flowing concrete method. According to test results, as dosage of superplasticizer increases, it shows that fluidity and bleeding increase, while air contents and ratio of segregation resistance decrease. It also shows that adding viscosity agent into it reduce bleeding and improve segregation resistance. Dosage of AE agent into it containing viscosity agent recovers loss of air contents during flowing procedure. Combination of proper contents of superplasticizer, viscosity agent and AE agent make possible to develope segregation reducing type superplasticizer Compressive strength of high fluidity concrete applying flowing method with it is higher than that of base concrete. No differences of compressive strength between compacting methods are found.

This study is conserned for the optimum design of reinforced concrete slab-beam-column structures with multi-storys and multi-bays by Direct Method. Flexural and shear strength, sectional size, and steel ratio etc., were considered as the design-constraints and the cost function was taken as to objective function. They became high degree nonlinear problems. Using SLP as an analytical method of nonlinear optimal problems, an optimal algorithm was developed in this study and the algorithm was applied to the optimization of reinforced concrete structure system of 5 storys. The result converged to a optimal solution with 3 to 5 iterations, and proved that economical design could be possible when compared with conventional designs.
In consideration that a high tensile strength and ion exchange capacity are maintained as the swelling of membrane is controlled by the coagulation of PSf with the introduction of ion exchange groups and PPSS without the introduction of ion exchange groups, the block copolymer of PSf and PPSS were synthesized. The cation exchange membrane was prepared by sulfonation with CSA and casted. The synthesized block copolymer and cation exchange membrane were characterized by FT-IR and their thermal stability was confirmed by TGA. The optimum sulfonation could be accomplished at a mole ratio of BPSf to CSA 1:3. The best electrochemical properties obtained by the optimal condition were area resistance of 4.37 $\Omega$ㆍ$\textrm{cm}^2$, ion exchange capacity of 1.71 meq/g dry membrane, water content of 0.2941 g $H_2O$/g dry membrane, and fixed ion concentration of 5.81 meq/g $H_2O$. When GBL was used as an additive, area resistance was increased by 13.7 % and ion exchange capacity was increased by 14.6%. When the membrane was fabricated in a form of composite using non woven cloth as a support. the tensile strength of membrane could be improved, but the electrochemical characteristics were not influenced.

Carbon/epoxy composite(CFRP) coupons previously damaged by low velocity impact were tested under static tensile loading and microscope progress of damage was characterized by ultrasonic C-scan, Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (SAM) and Acoustic Emission(AE) techniques which were based on the application of elastic waves. The degress of impact damage has been correlated with the AE activity during monotonic or loading/unloading tensile testing as well as the result of ultrasonic test. The coupons were subjected to impact velocities ranged from 0.71 to 2.17 m/sec, which introduced the amount of damage rated as 0%, 10%, 30%, and 50% with reference to the total absorbed energy at fracture. Special attention was paid to determine optimal AE parameters to characterize the microscopic fracture process and to predict the residual strength of composite laminates. AE RMS voltage during the early stage of tensile loading was found an effective parameter to quantify the degree of impact damage. It was also found that the Felicity ratio is closely related to the stacking sequence and the residual strength of the CFRP laminates.
Many automotive companies have tried to apply the aluminum alloy sheet to car body because reducing the car weight can improve the fuel efficiency of vehicle. In order to do that, sheet materials require of weldablity, formability, productivity and so on. Aluminum alloy was not easy to join these metals due to its material properties. Thus, the laser is good heat source for aluminum alloy welding because of its high heat intensity. However, the welding quality was not good by porosity, underfill, and magnesium loss in welded metal for AA5182 aluminum alloy. In this study, Nd:YAG laser welding of AA 5182 with filler wire AA 5356 was carried out to overcome this problem. The weldability of AA5182 laser welding with AA5356 filler wire was investigated in terms of tensile strength and Erichsen ratio. For full penetration, mechanical properties were improved by filler wire. In order to optimize the process parameters, model to estimate tensile strength by artificial neural network was developed and fitness function was defined in consideration of weldability and productivity. Genetic algorithm was used to search the optimal point of laser power, welding speed, and wire feed rate.

There are several methods to improve the flight efficiency of HALE(High Altitude Long Endurance) UAV(Unmaned Aerial Vehicle). Airframe structural point of view, weight reduction of the airframe structure is the most important method to improve the flight efficiency. In order to reduce the weight of airframe structures, new concepts which are different from traditional airframe structure design such as the mylar wing skin should be introduced. The spar is the most important component in a mylar skin wing structure, so the spar weight reduction is the key point for reduction of the wing structural weight. In this study, design trade-off study for the front spar of the HALE UAV wing is conducted in order to reduce the weight. Design and analysis procedure of high aspect ratio wing spar are introduced. Several front spar structures are designed and trade-off study regarding the weight and strength for the each spar are performed. Spar design configurations are verified by the static strength test. Finally, optimal front spar design is decided and applied to the HALE UAV wing design.

This study investigates the preparation of anti-reflective (AR) coating film to improve the efficiency of solar cell. The AR coating film was successfully obtained by dip-coating with AR coatings prepared by sol-gel method. Fluoroalkylsilane was additionally introduced into the coatings to give the self-cleaning effect of AR coating film. We performed the abrasion test, pencil scratch hardness test and cross-cut test to identify the mechanical strength of AR coating film. As the results, the transmittance of AR coating films with 9.07, 18.13 and 27.20 of IPA/MTMS molar ratios were 93.1, 93.6 and 95.3%, respectively. The water contact angle and transmittance of AR coating film increased by the introduction of hydrophobicity. The prepared AR coating film shows the high level of abrasion, hardness and adhesion. The IPA/MTMS molar ratio of 27.20 and the withdrawing speed range of 0.20 ~ 0.28cm/sec are the optimal coating condition in terms of the transmittance and mechanical strength of AR coating film.
