  • Transient and static characteristics of HVDC inverter can be analyzed with various simulation tools. For the optimal filter design, various performance criteria are proposed. In this paper, performance index is calculated based on proposed per phase equivalent circuit. Voltage and harmonic and filter power loss are selected as criteria. Optimization procedure is performed to find optimal passive filter parameters. Dynamic characteristics is also analyzed with proposed equivalent circuit.

실측선위의 정도개선과 항법계산의 전산화에 관한 연구 (A Sttudy on the Optimal estimation of the Fixed Position and Compterization of the Navigational Calculations)

  • This paper concerns the applications of the Kalman filter to navigation and the develment of computer programs of the navigational calculations. Methods to apply the Kalman filter to celestial fix, fix by cross bearing and cocked hat are proposed, and numerical simulations under various noise conditiions are conducted. The accuracy of the optimal positions obtained by the Kalman filter is compared with that of the fixed positiions by radial error method. In the case of celestial fix, an algorithm to estimate the optimal positions by using the linear Kalman filter is presented. The optimal positions by the Kalman filter are compared with the running fixes and with the most probable positions obtained from a single line of position. It is confirmed that the resutls of the proposed method are more accurate than the others. In practical piloting, bearings are generally measured intermittently and the measurement process is nonlinear. It is, therefore, difficult for us to apply the Kalman filter to fix by cross bearing. In order to be used in such an unfavorable case, the extended Kalman filter is revised and the aplicability of the revised extended Kalman filter is checked by numerical simulation under various noise conditions. In a cocked hat, an inside or outside fix is dependent only upon azimuth spread, if the error of each line of position is assumed to be equal both in magnitude and sign. A new technique of selecting a ship's position between an inside fix and an outside fix in a cocked hat by using fix determinant derived from the equation of three lines of position is also presented. The relations among the optimal position by Kalman filter, incentre (or excentre) and random error centtre of the cocked hat are discussed theoretically and the accuracy of the optimal position is compared with that of the others by numerical simulation.

  • In recent years, contamination of drinking water sources has emerged as a serious social problem, such as a large number of impurities in tap water or groundwater or the supply of suitable water due to rust of pipes. Although the government and public institutions are implementing various measures to protect water sources, they cannot improve water quality in a short period of time because of the enormous cost involved. Therefore, in recent years, preference has been given to a device that converts tap water, which is hard water, into soft water by installing a separate water softener at the faucet from which tap water is discharged. However, the existing filtration device has a problem that filtration performance is gradually lowered when impurities accumulate in the filter, requiring continuous filter replacement. In this study, the optimal design of the filter housing was performed to develop a water softener that can be washed when impurities accumulate on the filter inside the water softener connected to the faucet. For optimal design of the filter housing, fluid and fluid-structural interaction analysis were performed on the design pressure to determine the shape and thickness of the housing, and design review was performed through prototype.

통계적 분석에 의한 금융통장 인식용 광학필터 최적 조합 선정에 관한 연구 (Determination of Optimal Combination of Optical Filter for Recognizing Financial Account Using Statistical Analysis)

  • The object of this paper is to develop optimal optical filter, which can be used to identify the financial account and read the information. The five factors which affect the performance of the optical filter are identified as optical glass type, existence of Fe, Photo pic coating type, and coating form. In this study we seek to determine the optimal combination for the best design of the optical filter. For each combination, the performances of optical filter are investigated using the proper experimental equipments and methods. White-state voltage, black-state voltage, and black-state error rate are used for the performance measures. Through the statistical analysis of the performance data collected, we have determined the optimal design of the optical filter.

  • 이 논문에서는 NN 필터를 이용한 표적추적을 위한 최적의 신호 강도 및 표적 검출 문턱값을 구하였다. 이를 위하여 먼저 HYCA 방식을 이용하여 NN 필터의 추적성능을 예측할 수 있도록 하고, 이것에 기초하여 예측된 추적성능과 신호 강도 및 표적 검출 문턱값 사이의 관계를 나타내었다. 그리고 이러한 관계를 이용하여 다음과 같은 다양한 비용에 대한 최적 파라미터를 얻었다: (1)위치 추정 오차 분산 합을 최소화하는 최적의 표적 검출 문턱값 순열(sequence); (2)유효 게이트 면적 합을 최소화하는 최적의 표적 검출 문턱값 순열; (3)표적 신호 강도 합을 최소화하는 최적 표적 신호 강도 및 표적 검출 문턱값 순열.

영상 피라미드를 위한 최적 Half-Band FIR 필터 (An Optimal Half-Band FIR Filter for Image Pyramied)

  • In this paper, we analyze the generation of an image pyramid as a 2-dimensional decimation-interpolation process, and suggest a performance index of FIR filter for decimation and interpolation filter. Until now, most deciamtion and interpolation filters are designed via the approximation of the impulse response of an ideal filter. In this paper, however, we propose a new performance index that minimizes the maximum frequency-weighted mean square error between the desired and the generated interpolated signal, and propose an optimal half-band filter based on the proposed performance index as an example. Some simulation results with real images show that the proposed optimal half-band filter yields a higher PSNR as well as the more preferable image quality, in comparison with other currently used filters with the same computational complexity.

시변 최적 유한 임펄스 응답 필터 기반 전력 신호 고조파 검출 (Harmonic Estimation of Power Signal Based on Time-varying Optimal Finite Impulse Response Filter)

  • 본 논문에서는 시변 최적 FIR 필터를 이용한 전력 신호의 고조파 검출 방법을 제안한다. 잡음이 고려된 전력 신호에 대해 고조파의 진폭과 위상각의 변화량이 확률적 정보로 고려된 시변 상태 방정식 모델에 대해 시변 최적 FIR 필터를 설계하여 고조파 성분을 검출한다. 제안한 검출 방법에 사용된 시변 FIR 필터는 유한 구간의 정보만을 사용하고 어떠한 초기 조건도 사용하지 않도록 설계되어 칼만 필터 기반의 검출 방법의 오차 누적에 따른 검출 성능 저하나 발산 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 또한 FIR 구조의 필터 사용을 통해 칼만 필터 대비 불확실성에 대해 보다 강인한 검출이 가능하다. 시변 최적 FIR 필터의 사용을 통해 시불변 최적 FIR 필터 기반 고조파 검출 방법 대비 보다 일반적인 해를 제공한다. 제안하는 검출 방법의 우수성을 검증하기 위해 시변 칼만 필터 및 적응 칼만 필터 기반 고조파 검출 방법과의 비교 시뮬레이션을 수행한다.

A Suboptimal Algorithm of the Optimal Bayesian Filter Based on the Receding Horizon Strategy

  • The optimal Bayesian filter for a single target is known to provide the best tracking performance in a cluttered environment. However, its main drawback is the increase in memory size and computation quantity over time. In this paper, the inevitable predicament of the optimal Bayesian filter is resolved in a suboptimal fashion through the use of a receding horizon strategy. As a result, the problems of memory and computational requirements are diminished. As a priori information, the horizon initial state is estimated from the validated measurements on the receding horizon. Consequently, the suboptimal algorithm proposed allows for real time implementation.

Optimal Allocation Method of Hybrid Active Power Filters in Active Distribution Networks Based on Differential Evolution Algorithm

  • In this paper, an optimal allocation method of a hybrid active power filter in an active distribution network is designed based on the differential evolution algorithm to resolve the harmonic generation problem when a distributed generation system is connected to the grid. A distributed generation system model in the calculation of power flow is established. An improved back/forward sweep algorithm and a decoupling algorithm are proposed for fundamental power flow and harmonic power flow. On this basis, a multi-objective optimization allocation model of the location and capacity of a hybrid filter in an active distribution network is built, and an optimal allocation scheme of the hybrid active power filter based on the differential evolution algorithm is proposed. To verify the effect of the harmonic suppression of the designed scheme, simulation analysis in an IEEE-33 nodes model and an experimental analysis on a test platform of a microgrid are adopted.

심한 잡음성 영상의 경계선 검출을 위한 웨이블릿 변환 이용 검출기 개발 (The Edge Detector Using Wavelet Transform developed for Heavy Noised Images.)

  • 경계선 검출은 시각 인식 또는 기계 시각 인식의 과정에서 제일 먼저 수행되는 전처리 단계이다. 경계선 검출은 컴퓨터 시각 인식성능에 매우 중대한 요인으로 작용한다. 최근 MPEG-4에서 Model Based Coding 기법이 채택되면서, 경계선 검출 및 이를 이용한 컴퓨터 시각 인식의 중요성은 날로 커지고 있다. 한편, 잡음이 있는 영상의 경계선 검출 방법으로 여러 가지가 제시되었는데, 특히 잡음의 종류가 Additive White Gaussian인 경우에는 Canny Edge Detector가, Impulse인 경우에는 Dual Stack Filter를 적용한 방법이 각각 높은 성능으로 인정을 받고 있다. 그러나 Canny Edge Detector의 경우, Canny는 이론적인 Optimal Filter를 구하는 데에 성공하였지만 실제 적용에는, 이 Optimal Filter의 근사로써 Gauss함수의 1계 도함수를 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 Gauss함수보다는 상당히 Optimal Filter와 가까운 Filter를 얻기 위하여 웨이블릿 변환을 사용한 Liao등의 방법과, 각기 다른 Scale에서의 웨이블릿 변환들이 가지는 잡음과의 관계를 고려한 새로운 경계선 검출방법을 개발하였다. 실험결과, 본 연구에서의 방법은 기존에 사용되던 Canny Edge Detector나 Stochastic Operator보다 뛰어난 성능을 보여주었다.
