Photovoltaic System Operation Optimal Technique Considering Climate Condition and Residential Loads Pattern (기후조건 및 실부하패턴을 고려한 태양광 시스템 최적 운전기법)

  • Based on the detailed analysis of output characteristics of PV array and residential load usage pattern, a design method to calculate optimal battery capacity for stand-alone PV generation systems is proposed. And also, according to power flow Actual irradiation and temperature data are analyzed to compose a PV array simulator and also six representative home appliances are electrically modeled for load simulator, along with 24hours usage pattern. The surplus and insufficient power can be calculated from the proposed simulation platform, so that selection of an optimal battery capacity can be possible. The theoretical analysis and design process will be explained, along with informative simulation results.

  • In this paper, we address data transmission systems using multiple linear polarized antennas over pure line-of-sight (LoS) wireless channels. We investigate the impact of antenna angles from the perspective of both channel capacity and error performance. We show that the optimal angles from the two perspectives are different, and evaluate the performance of the two optimal angles.

  • This study addresses the problem of flexible technology acquisition in multi-product market when demands are uncertain. We confine the concept of flexibility to the ability of manufacturing system to produce a number of different types of products, called product-mix flexibility type. And an analytical model in which economies of scope is incorporated explicitly as a feature of flexible technology is presented to find the optimal investment decision to acquire flexible technology and optimal production planning. The characteristics of optimal investment strategy related to capacity and production planning are discussed.

  • This paper presents an optimal capacity design of a Hybrid generation system based on economical evaluation for various loads. Optimal sizes of a standalone and grid connection wind- PV hybrid systems were designed for normal, residential and industrial loads using HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electronic Renewable). Their economical evaluation were performed and compared with a diesel generation system that covers the same loads. The results showed that the stand alone hybrid generation system can be more economical than a diesel generation system for long term operation.

  • We derive an analytical expression for the bit-error rate (ber) of optimal single user detection (osud) of a binary phase-shift keying (bpsk) signal corrupted by a gaussian cochannel interferer (cci). the channel capacity is also calculated to investigate the ber performance.

  • When load areas on a feeder are deenergized due to faults and scheduled outage, operators need to identify neighboring feeders, try to restore customers and minimize out-of-service areas. These cases include knowledge of system states and various constraints such as voltage drop. This paper concerns the load transfer in fault restoration and scheduled outage. Also, the operating constraints such as line current capacity, relay trip current, transformer capacity, voltage drop and line loss are considered. This expert system can propose the optimal load transfer method by analyzing the system state and considering the constraints.

  • The present paper investigates the technological and conceptional characteristics of peering and transit in internet interconnection. Especially, the market with two ISP competing for customers is modeled and the outcome with peering is compared with transit. This paper also analyze the congestion effects on retail price and network capacity. When there is congestion effects occurring from network sharing, the retail price is increased and the fixed fee is decreased with the degree of congestion. Finally, the optimal access charge assuring the socially optimal retail price and network capacity is derived.

  • For economic operating of distribution system, utility has to minimize the loss in distribution line by controlling reactive power and power factor. This paper presents calculation of reactive power in distribution line, estimation of the condenser capacity according to distance, and computation of optimal location and proper condenser capacity.
