  • Modem technology depends on the reliability of extremely high technology equipments. In the production of semiconductor wafer, optical and electron microscopes, ion-beam, laser device must maintain their alignments within a sub-micrometer. This equipment requires a vibration free environment to provide its proper function. Especially, lithography and inspection devices, which have sub-nanometer class high accuracy and resolution, have come to necessity for producing more improved giga and tera class semiconductor wafers. This high technology equipments require very strict environmental vibration standard, vibration criteria, in proportion to the accuracy of the manufacturing, inspecting devices. The vibration criteria of high sensitive equipment should be represented in the form of 'exactness' and 'accuracy', because this is used as basic data for the design of building structure and structural dynamics of equipment. This paper deals with the properties of time and frequency domain in order to obtain more improved vibration criteria for high sensitive equipment.

  • The automated scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) has been designed, and built to measure in-plane displacements associated with waves propagating on vibrating structures. Use of optical fibers allows the compact design of a laser probe head which can be scanned over the vibrating structures. An algorithm for automated self-alignment of the laser probe is developed. The system is completely automated for scanning over the structures, focusing two laser beams at each data point until the detected vibration signal is stable, and for recording and transferring the data to a system computer. The automated system allows one to get extensive data of the vibration field over the structures. The system is tested by scanning a piezoelectric cylindrical shell and a plate excited by a continuous signal and by a pulse signal, respectively. Results show that the automated scanning LDV system can be a useful tool to measure the in-plane vibration field and to detect the elastic waves propagating on the vibrating structures.

[TiO2|Ti|Ag|TiO2] 다층구조를 이용한 전도성 투과필터의 설계 및 특성분석 (Design and characterization of conductive transparent filter using [TiO2|Ti|Ag|TiO2] multilayer)

  • 디스플레이 기기에 사용할 수 있는 전도성 투과필터를 저방출(low-emissivity) 코팅인 [유전체|Ag|유전체] 구조를 이용하여 설계하였다. [$TiO_{2}$|Ti|Ag|$TiO_{2}$] 구조를 반복하고 어드미턴스 방법을 이용하여 가시광선 영역의 투과율을 높이고, 근적외선의 투과율은 낮게 하였다. 전도성 투과필터를 radio frequency(RF) 마그네트론 스퍼터링 방법으로 증착하고 설계한 스펙트럼과 비교하였으며, 필터의 광학적, 구조적, 전기적 특성들을 조사하였다. Ag 박막의 두께는 전기전도성을 높이기 위해 13㎚ 이상으로 증착하고, $TiO_{2}$박막은 가시광선 영역에서 투과율이 최대가 되는 24㎚로 증착하였다. 또한 Ag 박막의 산화를 막기 위해 매우 얇은 Ti 산화방지막을 증착하였으며, 다층구조로 갈수록 산화방지막의 두께를 더 두껍게 증착해야 하는 것을 확인하였다. 최종적으로 [$TiO_{2}$|Ti|Ag|$TiO_{2}$] 기본구조를 3번 반복하여 증착한 필터는 근적외선 차단 효과가 우수하고, 전자파 장해(electromagnetic interference; EMI)를 효과적으로 방지할 수 있는 2Ω/□ 이하의 낮은 면저항을 보였다.

RF Sputtering법에 의한 산화주석 박막의 진공 열처리 효과 (The Effect of Vacuum Annealing of Tin Oxide Thin Films Obtained by RF Sputtering)

  • Tin oxide thin films were deposited by rf reactive sputtering and annealed at $400^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in vacuum. To minimize the influence such as reduction, oxidation, and doping on tin oxide thin films during annealing, a vacuum ambient annealing was adopted. The structural, optical, and electrical properties of tin oxide thin films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscope, UV-Vis spectrometer, and Hall effect measurements. After vacuum annealing, the grain size of all thin films was slightly increased and the roughness ($R_a$) was improved, however irregular and coalesced shapes were observed from the most of the films. These irregular and coalesced crystal shapes and the possible elimination of intrinsic defects might have caused a decrease in both carrier concentration and mobility, which degrades electrical conductivity.

  • There is a great demand of micro-actuators for mobile information devices such as SFF optical drives and mobile camera phones. However, conventional magnetic coils of electromagnetic motors are a major obstacle for miniaturization because of their complicated structures and large power consumption. In this paper, a linear ultrasonic motor to actuate focusing lens of mobile devices is proposed. The new actuator uses a ring type bimorph piezoelectric material, and $d_{31}$ mode is adopted for applying linear motion. The interaction between inertia force and friction force makes linear motion by high-frequency saw signal input. The saw signal gives steady forces on the one direction by asymmetric inclination property of the signal itself on time domain. A commercial FEM (ANSYS) was used in this investigation for simulating structural analysis, identification of dynamic property, such as resultant displacement and coupled analysis with piezoelectric material. To evaluate the performance of the new design, a prototype was manufactured and experiments were carried out. Experimental results show the actuator motion of 1.52 mm/s at 10 kHz input signal in 5 V.

Development of a New Double Buffer Layer for Cu(In, Ga) $Se_2$ Solar Cells

  • The new approach to buffer layer design for CIGS solar cells that permitted to reduce the buffer absorption losses in the short wavelength range and to overcome the disadvantages inherent to Cd-free CIGS solar cells was proposed. A chemical bath deposition method has been used to produce a high duality buffer layer that comprises thin film of CdS and Zn-based film. The double layer was grown on either ITO or CIGS substrates and its morphological, structural and optical properties were characterized. The Zn-based film was described as the ternary compound $ZnS_x(OH)_y$. The composition of the $ZnS_x(OH)_y$ layer was not uniform throughout its thickness. $ZnS_x(OH)_y$/CdS/substrate region was a highly intermixed region with gradually changing composition. The short wavelength cut-off of double layer was shifted to shorter wavelength (400nm) compared to that (520 nm) for the standard CdS by optimization of the double buffer design. The results show the way to improve the light energy collection efficiency of the nearly cadmium-free CIGS-based solar cells.

  • Composite materials are rapidly gaining popularity as an alternative to metals for structural and load bearing applications in the aerospace, automotive, alternate energy and consumer industries. With the advent of thermoplastic composites and advances in recycling technologies, fully recyclable composites are gaining ground over traditional thermoset composites. Stamp forming as an alternative processing technique for sheet products has proven to be effective in allowing the fast manufacturing rates required for mass production of components. This study investigates the feasibility of using the stamp forming technique for the processing of thermoplastic, recyclable composite materials. The material system used in this study is a self-reinforced polypropylene composite material (Curv$^{(R)}$). The investigation includes a detailed experimental study based on strain measurements using a non-contact optical measurement system in conjunction with stamping equipment to record and measure the formability of the thermoplastic composites in real time. A Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology was adopted to elucidate the effect of process parameters that included blank holder force, pre heat temperature and feed rate on stamp forming. DOE analyses indicate that feed rate had negligible influence on the strain evolution during stamp forming and blank holder force and preheat temperature had significant effect on strain evolution during forming.

광섬유센서를 이용한 쓰레기 이송관로의 장기 계측시스템 구축을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study for Establishment of Long-term Monitoring System using Fiber Optical Sensor for Pipeline System for Waste Transportation)

  • 최근 지속적으로 증가하는 생활폐기물의 배출과 처리가 사회적인 문제로 대두됨에 따라 새로운 폐기물의 수거 및 운반방식으로 쓰레기 이송관로시스템이 최근 부각되고 있다. 이러한 이송관로시스템은 긴 연장을 갖기 때문에 이송관로에 문제가 발생할 경우 즉각적으로 해당 위치를 파악하여 조치할 수 있는 적절한 장기계측시스템을 적용하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 FBG 광섬유 변형률 센서를 이용한 계측시스템의 적용성을 검토하고, 이를 이용한 최적의 계측시스템을 도출할 수 있는 자료를 확보하기 위한 실험적 연구로서, 이송관로에 발생할 수 있는 대표적인 손상유형으로 압력누출, 관로변형 및 관로폐색의 3가지 현상을 실제규모의 모형 이송관로실험체에 모사한 후 관로에 설치된 FBG센서로부터 응답을 측정하였다. 실험결과를 바탕으로 실험변수로 적용한 각각의 손상유형에 따른 효과적인 센서설치 방법과 배치방법을 도출하였다. 특히 관로변형실험 결과는 변형발생지점으로부터의 센서와의 거리에 따른 응답 상관관계를 통해 센서배치간격을 산출하여 FBG센서를 이용한 계측설계를 수행하였다.

  • The purpose of this study suggest the fashion of communication for 21th century fashion. Especially, Memphis fashion have the possibility of communicating through objects. The results of this study are as follows : First, Memphis idea is to make design into a sophisticated, conscious instrument of communication. As the Memphis fashion points out : design is an extraordinary tool for communicating because its intrinsic characteristic is the fact that it is used and distributed anyway, even without communicating anything. The Memphis fashion is trying to connect design and industry to the broader culture within which fashion moves. Second, Using different materials provides not only new structural Possibilities. but - above all - new semantic and metaphoric possibilities, order modes of communication, another language, and even a change of direction, broadening of perspective, appropriation and digestion of new values and the concomitant rejection of traditional structures that renewal always Involves. The memphis fashion works on the fabric of contemporaneity (lurex yarn, latex, chrome metal and steel) and contemporaneity means computers, electronics, a new awareness of the body. mass exercise and tourism. Third, color in Memphis has never been an ideological vehicle. As with decoration it is born tilth the design, forming an integral part of the structure. It alters the objects molecules. It works as a mass, as an intrinsic feature of a certain form and volume. The Memphis fashion was realized the introduction of ultramodern science into such experimental and creative implementation as optical motive, brilliancy of colour of electronic medium in audition to metallic fabric and high technical synthetic fiber.
