Elemental image resizing and the analysis of the reconstructed three dimensional image in the integral imaging system (집적결상법에서 기본영상의 크기 변환에 따른 3차원 재생영상의 특성 분석)

  • In the integral imaging system for 3D display, the elemental image size is closely related to the several variables, such as the size of elemental lens, the distance between elemental lens and elemental image, etc., on the pick up system. We have analyzed the geometric relation between the variables. In addition, we have investigated the integrated image variation for the individual and whole conversion of the size of the elemental images, different from in pick up process, and presented experimental results.

  • 정보, 전산 산업의 발달이 급속하게 이루어짐에 따라 필연적으로 정보의 저장 및 입출력에 관계된 정보저장장치는 용량의 대량화, 입출력 속도의 고속화가 요구된다. 홀로그램을 이용한 정보저장장치는 데이터의 기록·재생의 원리상 체적 홀로그램의 원리를 이용하여 한 점에 대량의 면정보를 저장할 수 있는 페이지 지향적인 메모리(Page-oriented Memory)로써 입출력 방식으로 병렬 데이터 처리방식을 사용하므로 근본적으로 입출력 속도를 초고속화 할 수가 있으며, 기계적인 구동 부를 배제한 시스템이 가능하므로 데이터 접근 시간도 매우 빠르게 할 수 있다. Fabrication of λ/2 Phase Plates for Optical Pickup Using a Proton Exchanged LiNbO$_{3}$ (양자 교환된 리튬나오베이트를 이용한 광 픽업용 λ/2 파장판 제작)

  • In this paper, we have been fabricated λ/2 phase plates lot an optical pick-up using a blue violet laser diode by employing proton exchange and wet etching in LiNbO$_{3}$. Their functions and fabrication processes are described in detail. It is established the optimal fabrication conditions through the experimental results. The device characteristics are measured by the Mach-zender interferometer which is composed of the optical components and 632.8nm He-Ne laser. The measured phase error was +5$^{\circ}$~ -6$^{\circ}$(within 3%). This phase plate could be applied an useful device to improve the resolution and the stability of the optical pick-up which has a blue violet laser diode as an optical source.

  • DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) is the data storage media devised to make high storage density and high data input/output possible. Therefore higher rotational speed and better accuracy in optical pick-up are required compared with the existing optical storage device. These operational functional requirements are concerned with abilities of optical storage device. Especially, High rotational speed is deeply concerned with the noise and vibration of optical storage device, is important problem in development of optical storage device so much. This paper propose a new concept ROM media of optical storage device named as Cylindrical ROM media, and evaluate this by means of Axiomatic approach and empirical data.

  • As the optical disk drives are designed for portable and hostile environment, they have a possibility to miss the track and not to read the data. The shock response of optical disk drives must be analyzed. This research shows the shock response analysis of the optical disk drive. The optical disk drive is modeled as the lumped parameter system in consideration of the pickup and the disk. The lumped parameter model is compared with finite element model in order to verify results. Finally, shock responses are compared with the change of the shock magnitude and the duration.

  • 보호층 0.1mm두께의 20GB이상의 광디스크를 기록·재생하는 High Density Optical System에서는 Blue-violet laser와 NA(Numerical Aperture)0.85의 High NA의 대물렌즈를 사용한 Optical Pick Up이 필요로 된다. 종래의 대물렌즈는 glass 또는 plastic제의 2매 조합 대물렌즈가 많이 사용되어지고 있는데, 이는 두 렌즈간의 거리를 일정하게 유지시키기 위한 홀더 조립시의 공차가 엄격히 요구되며, 2매 조합 대물렌즈를 구동시키기 위한 actuator의 부피와 무게를 증가시킴으로서 구동감도를 감소시키는 단점이 있다.   • A lot of varIOUS studies are taking advantage of annular masks or various pupil filters to design optical systems such as a digital versatile disc (DVD) pick up head and precise scanning microscopy that have the superresolution beyond the diffraction limit. We considered both annular mask and pupil filter for the superresolution system. Since image quality is a function of annular width, position and modulation amount, we computel'lzed the optimized condition for the phase modulation and mvestigated the variation of lhe center peak: intensity for the phase modulated system From tills result, we were able to detenrune the best conditions for the annular apodizer, wluch give the maximum value of the center peak intensity_ We made especially sure that the phase modulated system have an excellent compensation for spherical aberration as it lllcreases. eases.

  • Using a Shack-Hartmann sensor and sub-wavelength sized pinhole point source, we develope an optical testing system that measures the wavefront error of high numerical aperture and small sized optical components. The subwavelength sized pinhole generates perfect spherical waves with large diffraction angle and this makes possible to test high numerical aperture optics. The Shack-Hartmann sensor reconstructs the wavefront and calculates the aberrations. We make a home-made reference plane wave source which generates nearly perfect plane waves and the calibration with this plane source gives the overall uncertainty of the optical testing system 0.010 $\lambda$ rms.

  • Dynamic Load/unload (L/UL) mechanism is an alternative to the contact start stop (CSS) technology which eliminates striction and wear failure modes associated with CSS. Inertia latch mechanism becomes important for mobile disk drives because of non operating shock performance. Various types of latch designs have been introduced in hard disk drives to limit a rotary actuator from sudden uncontrolled motion. In this paper, a single spring inertia latch is introduced for a small form optical disk drive, which uses a rotary actuator for moving an optical pick-up. A new small inertia latch with sin91e spring is designed to ensure both feasible and small size. The shock performance of the new inertia latch is experimentally verified.

  • This paper proposes a swing-arm type dual-stage actuator, which consists of a PZT actuator for fine motion and a VCM(Voice Coil Motor) for coarse motion, for SFF ODD(Small Form Factor Optical Disk Drive), in order to achieve fast access speed and precise track following control. We focus our attention on the design and control of the PZT actuator, because there have been a lot of previous researches related to the VCM and dual-stage actuators. Due to the dual cantilever structure, the PZT actuator can generate precise translational tracking motion at its tip where optical pickup is attached at, and the effect of hysteric behavior of the PZT element is reduced. The dynamic model of the PZT actuator is derived by using the Hamilton's principle, and verified by comparing with the experimental frequency response. The sliding mode control is designed in order to be robust against modeling uncertainties. Simulations and experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the suggested control scheme.
