As for A rotary wing aircraft, the configuration change about split yaw swaged rod was executed to improve hit treat capability for dealing with a long rod. The purpose of this study was to analyze if or not the quality of the split yaw swaged rod was obtained, and so the flight safety was ensured or not. Buckling analysis, Coupling Thread Strength Analysis, Thermal Stress analysis and Rod Natural Frequency Analysis were executed for structural analysis. The results of the analysis were presented that the split rod had the sufficient margin of safety and so there were no anomalies in the limit load and no failures in the ultimate load. And there were no resonances in result of natural frequency analysis. In conclusion, this study showed that the split yaw swaged rod had structural safety, so flight safety of rotary wing aircraft was secured and there was no problem in aircraft operation. It is certain that the technology of splitting the yaw swage rod will contribute to the operational Safety of the rotary wing aircraft in the future.
A high efficiency and low device stress voltage and current clamping BVS PWM asymmetrical half bridge converter is proposed in this paper. To achieve the ZVS of power switches along the wide load range, the transformer leakage inductor $L_{Ikg}$ is increased. Then, to solve the problem related to ringing in the secondary rectifier caused by the resonance between $L_{Ikg}$ and rectifier junction capacitors, the proposed converter employs a voltage and current clamping cell, which helps voltages and currents of rectifier diodes to be clamped at the output voltage and output current, respectively. Therefore, no RC-snubber for rectifier diodes is needed and a high efficiency as well as low noise output voltage can be realized. In addition, since all energy stored in $L_{Ikg}$ is transferred to the output side, the circulating energy problem can be effectively solved and duty loss does net exist. The operational principle, theoretical analysis, and design considerations are presented. To confirm the operation, validity, and features of the proposed circuit, experimental results from a 425W, 385-170Vdc prototype are presented.

There are many systems for cutting plates or pipes into a desired shape. A typical system is a plasma cutter. It uses plasma, which means that an effective design of the table supporting the workpiece is an important issue in order to ensure a long operational career. Conventional roller-support worktables have a short lifespan due to scratches from the plasma, and it is also difficult to maintain the roller balance. By using a bolt-fastening method, deformation and failure of the final product can occur due to the stress concentration at bolting points. To escape these issues, a polygon support and bracket fastening method was designed. Due to polygons having a number of support surfaces, when one surface has been damaged, it is possible to reuse the support by utilizing a different surface. The bracket-fastening method can extend the worktable lifetime and increase productivity by reducing stress concentration. In this paper, the polygon support/bracket-fastening method is compared with existing technologies. Consequently, performance benchmarks are verified through a structure analysis and experimentation.
Objectives : The Hwabyung Research Center of The Korean Society Of Oriental Neuropsychiatry attempted to produce clinical guidelines for doctors of Korean medicine for the treatment of Hwabyung. Methods : A standard guideline development process was followed. Relevant literature was identified by a review of bibliographies. Work environments have been changed with the advent of new technologies, such as computer technology. The newer technologies, the more changes in our work conditions. However, human cognitive limits can't keep up with the change of work environments. Mental workload has been an important factors in designing modem work environments such as human-computer interaction. Designing man-machine systems requires knowledge and evaluation of the human cognitive processes which control information flow workload. Futhermore, under an urgent situation, human operator may suffer the work stress, work error, and resultant deleterious work performance. To describe the work performance in the urgent work situations, with time stress and dynamic event occurence, a new concept of information density was introduced. For a series of experiments performed for this study, three independent variables(information amount system processing time, information density) were evaluated using such dependent variables as reaction time, number of error, and number of failure. The results of statistical anlysiss indicate that the amount of information effected on all of five dependent measure. Number of failure and number of secondary task score were effected by both amount of information and operational speed of system, but reaction time of secondary task were effected by both amount of information and information density.

The integrity of the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) is affected by the neutrons bombarding the vessel wall leading to embrittlement. This irradiation-induced embrittlement leads to reduction in the fracture toughness of RPV materials. This paper presents a comparative study of typical Optimized Power Reactor (OPR)1000 reactor pressure-temperature (P-T) limit curves using the pre-2006 American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) editions used in the power plant and the current ASME edition of 2010. The current ASME Code utilizes critical reference stress intensity factor based on the lower bound of static, while the Pre-2006 ASME editions are based the critical reference stress intensity factor based on the lower bound of static, dynamic and crack arrest. Model-Based Systems Engineering approach was used to evaluate ASME Code Section XI Appendix G for generating the P-T limit curves. The results obtained from this analysis indicate decrease in conservatism in P-T limit curves constructed using the current 2017 ASME code, which can potentially increase operational flexibility and plant safety. Hence it is recommended to use ASME code edition after 2006 be used in all operating nuclear power plants (NPPs) to establish P-T limit curve.

Compliant Vertical Access Risers (CVARs) are compliant systems that incorporate a differentiated geometric configuration that allows the exploitation of oil and gas in deepwater fields and enables a number of operational advantages in the offshore system. One of the main features of CVAR systems is that they allow direct intervention procedures to be applied to the well bore, enabling workover operations to be performed directly from the production platform. Based on the principles of virtual work and variation, a static geometric nonlinear equation of CVARs is derived and applied in this study. The results of this study show that the two ends of the riser as well as the transition region are subject to high stress, while the positions of the floating platform exert significant effects on the geometry of the riser configuration. Compliance and buoyancy factors should be set moderately to reduce the CVAR stress. In addition, the buoyancy modules should be placed in the lower region, in order to maximize the operation advantages of CVAR.
In this paper, some crucial performance characteristics related to the operational reliability of the post-fault Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) rectifiers, such as line current harmonic distortion, Common Mode Voltage (CMV), and current stress on the capacitors, are fully investigated. The aforementioned performance characteristics of post-fault rectifiers are highly dependent on the utilized space vector modulation (SVM) schemes, which are also examined. Detailed analyses of the three most commonly used SVM schemes for post-fault PWM rectifiers are provided, revealing the major differences in terms of the zero vector synthesis approaches. To compare the performances of the three SVM schemes, the operating principles of a post-fault rectifier are presented with various SVM schemes. Using analytical and numerical methods in the time domain, the performances of the line current distortion, common mode voltage and capacitor current are evaluated and compared for each SVM scheme. The proposed analysis demonstrates that the zero vector synthesis approaches of the considered methods have significant impacts on the performance characteristics of rectifiers. In addition, the advantages and disadvantages of the proposed SVM schemes are discussed. The experimental results verify the effectiveness and validity of the proposed analysis.
The present paper describes transient thermal and mechanical analyses of a
lox/kerosene type turbopump in a LRE(Liquid Rocket Engine). Turbopumps are used to
pressurize propellants to achieve higher specific impulse of LRE. The turbopump under
development has been designed and verified by structural analyses using finite element
methods. Some parts of the turbopump operate under cryogenic environments, while
the others work under ambient and high temperature environments. Therefore,
numerical analysis at a turbopump system level is essential. In this study, casing
assemblies of lox pump and fuel pump were analyzed to determine strength test and
air-tightness test conditions. Also, some operational stress and strains of fuel pump
casings were measured and analyzed. Based on these results, stress concentration of
fuel pump casings during the operation could be successfully predicted.
About 40% of reactors in the world are being operated beyond design life or are approaching the end of their life cycle. During long-term operation, various degradation mechanisms occur. Fatigue caused by alternating operational stresses in terms of temperature or pressure change is an important damage mechanism in continued operation of nuclear power plants. To monitor the fatigue damage of components, Fatigue Monitoring System (FMS) has been installed. Most FMSs have used Green's Function Approach (GFA) to calculate the thermal stresses rapidly. However, if temperature-dependent material properties are used in a detailed FEM, there is a maximum peak stress discrepancy between a conventional GFA and a detailed FEM because constant material properties are used in a conventional method. Therefore, if a conventional method is used in the fatigue evaluation, thermal stresses for various operating cycles may be calculated incorrectly and it may lead to an unreliable estimation. So, in this paper, the modified GFA which can consider temperature-dependent material properties is proposed by using an artificial neural network and weight factor. To verify the proposed method, thermal stresses by the new method are compared with those by FEM. Finally, pros and cons of the new method as well as technical findings from the assessment are discussed.
