Image Data Transmission and Receiving System of KITSAT-3-Performance of initial operation (우리별3호 영상데이터 송수신 시스템 - 초기운용 성능 실험)

  • KITSAT-3, the third satellite of KITSAT series which has been developed for the last four and half years with purely Korean design and implementation technology, was launched successfully at last. All subsystems were tested and validated during the initial operation of the satellite. During the initaial operation phase, the Earth imaging camera on board KITSAT-3 acquisited several tens of scenes all over the world and transmitted the image data to ground station. The quality of images and the reliability of data transmission-reception system were tested qualititively and quantititively, respectively. In this paper, we summarize the camera, data handling, on-board memory, and image data transmission system of KITSAT-3 as well as the image receiving and archiving system in ground station. The error rate of image data transmission and reception was tested during the initial operation phase. The average data transmission error rate satisfied the initial requirement of less than 1%. The error rate will be reduced through the continuous work of test and stabilization of the ground system hardware.

  • The operation method of offline venues such as local festivals usually has problems such as the absence of real-time events and booth information, wasting time in the process of purchasing and receiving goods, and stagnating the movement of guests. This study increases the convenience of guests and managers by integrating all contents in the venue in the form of booth, thereby increasing the uniformity of event information and the efficiency of booth operation. In addition, a system was designed to minimize movement problems and improve performance by detecting the movement of guests within the venue and increasing the efficiency of arranging booths based on location data. It has been developed as a low-cost system that measures wireless packets with portable wireless LAN APs and control units. This has advantages in the operation of the venue, which consists of the installation and dismantling of variable booths in a short period of time. It is expected that the integrated operation of the venue will be utilized by linking the movement data of guests to activate visits and increase sales through data-based promotions.

Target Operation Voltage Guidelines Considering Voltage Level in Each Voltage Control area by Applying Optimization Technique Through EMS Data Observation (EMS data 분석 및 최적화 기법을 적용한 제어지역별 목표운전전압 제안)

  • This paper presents target operation voltage guidelines of each voltage control area considering both voltage stability and economical efficiency in real power system. EMS(Energy Management System) data, Real-time simulator, shows not only voltage level but lots of information about real power system. Also this paper performs optimal power flow calculation of three objective functions to propose the best target operation voltage. objective function of interchange power flow maximum and active power loss minimization stand for economical efficiency index and reactive power reserve maximum objective unction represents stability index. Then through simulation result using optimazation technique, the most effective objective function is chosen. To sum up, this paper divides voltage control area into twelve considering electric distance characteristics and estimate or voltage level by the passage of time of EMS peak data. And through optimization technique target operation voltage of each voltage control area is estimated and compare heir result. Then it is proposed that the best scenario to keep up voltage stability and maximize economical efficiency in real power system.

  • This paper aims to evaluates the operation efficiency with two inputs and four outputs with the use of DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis), a qualitative data analysis with the use of expert assessment in Korean RCC(Rescue Co-ordination Center)/RSC(Rescue Sub-Center). The tool for integrating heterogeneous data is model that applies fuzzy logic to decision support system In this paper, therefor, RCC/RSC evaluates the priority for operation efficiency. The result are found as order as Inchon, Mokpo, Jeju, Donghae, Busan, Pohang, Yosu, Sokcho, Tongyeong, Ulsan, Taean, Gunsan RSC.

Investigation of neural network-based cathode potential monitoring to support nuclear safeguards of electrorefining in pyroprocessing

  • During the pyroprocessing operation, various signals can be collected by process monitoring (PM). These signals are utilized to diagnose process states. In this study, feasibility of using PM for nuclear safeguards of electrorefining operation was examined based on the use of machine learning for detecting off-normal operations. The off-normal operation, in this study, is defined as co-deposition of key elements through reduction on cathode. The monitored process signal selected for PM was cathode potential. The necessary data were produced through electrodeposition experiments in a laboratory molten salt system. Model-based cathodic surface area data were also generated and used to support model development. Computer models for classification were developed using a series of recurrent neural network architectures. The concept of transfer learning was also employed by combining pre-training and fine-tuning to minimize data requirement for training. The resulting models were found to classify the normal and the off-normal operation states with a 95% accuracy. With the availability of more process data, the approach is expected to have higher reliability.

  • Decision of operation performance mode to minimize the energy consumption of urban rail vehicle. This paper analyses how much acceleration and deceleration of urban rail vehicle should be applied andhow to choose an operation mode to minimize energy consumption when train runs between station within the fixed operation time. The decided operation pattern satisfying the minimum energy consumption becomes a target trajectory and a basis for the controller design criteria. To make this goal it grasps the characteristics of urban rail vehicle, realize operation energy model of urban rail vehicle and verify the accuracy of embodied model the Matlab simulation with the same operation result of real route. It searches for operation pattern to minimize operation energy by changing the acceleration and deceleration on the imaginative route and proposes operation pattern minimizing energy consumption by applying real operation data between Dolgogee-Sukgye section of Seoul Metropolitan Subway Line 6.

Statistical Lifetime Analysis for Large Electric Power Equipments using Failure Data (고장데이터를 이용한 대용량 전력설비 통계적 수명분석)

  • In this study, the characteristic lifetime of power facilities such as power transformers and GIS were investigated as the basis of power facility asset management. It is difficult to obtain the operation and failure data of the facilities in Korea. Therefore, the number of failures of the electric power facilities was calculated from the operation data and hazard rate shown in the overseas literatures, and the statistical analysis was performed using the Weibull distribution function. As a result of extracting and analyzing the data of the UK National Grid for power transformers, the characteristic lifetime (scale parameter) of 116.45 years was considered to be a very appropriate value for power transformer management and can be used as a comparative data of the analysis of the domestic transformers. As for the GIS, based on the Bays and Bay-Years data and the hazard rate according to the operation years of the 123kV GIS in Germany, it is found out that the characteristic lifetime of GIS is not so meaningful. It is necessary to decide a maintenance strategy and lifetime expectancy considering the characteristics of the design, materials and manufacturing process of GIS.

A Study on Dynamic Water Quality Change for Gate Operation in Seonakdong River (서낙동강 수문 운영에 따른 동적 수질 변화 연구)

  • The inflow from Daejeo gate and the outflow from Noksan gate in Seonakdong river, which is a reservoir-like river with the characteristics of stagnant water, is very important for TMDLs (Total Maximum Daily Load) of Nakbon N unit watershed. However, there are very few measured data for calculating base flow. The operating data is much different from the actual measured data because the probable maximum flowrate is used for gate operation. In this study, the operating flowrate data of Daejeo and Noksan gates are compared with the monthly water quality data from Ministry of Environment monitoring station. The dynamic change of the flowrate and the water quality is also measured for the operation of Daejeo and Noksan gates. The flowrate of Seonakdong river is measured, which is affected by the gate operation, the water elevation difference of Nakdong river and Seonakdong river, and the tidal elevation. The results of this study can be used for establishing the water quality improvement measures by the optimal gate operation.

  • Sea operation monitoring system is a system for the automatic ship operation that is used on the variety sea operations such as laying optical cables on the sea between the countries, laying cables on the seabed for a remote island, laying pipelines for the natural gas, and so forth. This system processes data which optained through setting up environment and input from several sensors, and display GPS information with ENC data. And this system processes not only data of root file about sea operation, but also realtime information from PDA of client wirelessly connected with AP on wireless LAN, In addition, this system can improve efficiency of the operation as a result of enabling free movement within valid range. This paper design and Implementation Monitoring system from above appropriate to the embedded system, and improve competitive power of ship through prevention of a ship accident, to keep minimizing operation loads and support both the automatic ship operation and the safety voyage.

  • In this paper, we developed new time information recording module of VSI (VLBI Standard Interface) format by analyzing the Mark5B recorder control and operation software with 1Gbps speed, which is able to record the weak signal of space radio source, through the Korean VLBI Network (KVN). The control and operation software of high-speed recorder consists of 2 kinds of software, which is that it can operate RAID control board by controlling large capacity HDD drive and the network control and operation. Especially, core software in high-speed recorder is able to output the results after performing and analyzing the input command. Through the analysis of control and operation software, new time information recording module, which is needed to process the observed data for correlation, is developed. New developed time information recording module can record the time information together after checking the interrupt of 1PPS(Pulse Per Second) input signal when the observed data will be recorded. To verify the normal operation of the developed time information recording module, we performed the real observation test and confirmed the effectiveness of developed software through analyzing the recorded observation data.
