Evaluation Framework for Routinization of ERP (ERP 내재화 평가 프레임워크에 관한 연구)

  • ERP is an essential information system (IS) that many companies are operating on the basis of this solution. Since ERP is a very important system that is used in business operation and provides quantified information about the efficiency and productivity of the business activities, difference of competitiveness between companies that have successfully implemented ERP and those that do not have is very large. According to a survey done by a global consulting firm, far less than half of the companies are evaluated as successfully internalizing ERP into their organizations. Therefore, there is a need for an accurate assessment of ERP usage and an improvement of ERP based on it and the need become to increase largely. However, in reality, there is neither the systematic evaluation methods or any research about this topic. This study proposes a framework for evaluating the routinization of ERP throughout the life cycle of the ERP based on both the literature in the enterprise architecture, ERP lifecycle, ERP success areas, and actual experience of the authors in ERP implementation. The proposed framework intends to satisfy the following functional requirements : 1) the entire lifecycle of ERP should be evaluated; 2) evaluation of ERP should be performed from the enterprise-wide perspective; 3) evaluation should focus on the core activities of the organization; and objective evaluation criteria should be used in the evaluation.

  • The insufficiency on IP address cause to develope a new internet protocol, IPv6 that the length of address field is expanded. But there are actually many problems on applying and operating this standard for internet. Though NAT(Network Address Translation) is instead of it, NAT has the characteristics that is not allowed to access from outside. This is a big merit in security but a week point because the access from outside should be allowed when a small organization operate web sever or mail server. Therefore, this paper proposes the expanded NAT which can solve such problems as modifying the table of NAT. Furthermore, the function of existing VPN(Virtual Private Network) will be acceptable partly through such a method that provide the linkage among VPNs.

  • The Cities that recently developed have been applied to private network for establishing information communication network system. The local governments planning or pursuing U-City construction should also choose the private network in consideration of operation and maintenance. In viewpoint of agency operating u-City, it is necessary to integrate traditional and new network. However, there has been lack of guides to choose U-City network considering the economic analysis between private and leased network. This study analyzed the characteristics of private and leased network, and the cost-benefit by estimating the network cost and communication demand focused on U-services that are recently applied. This study purpose a guide for efficient U-City information network selected by estimating ROI(Return On Investment) and BEP(Break Even Point) for establishing private and leased network.

  • Recently, as business problems become more complicated and require more precise quantitative results, large-scale model management systems are increasingly in demand for supporting the decision-making activities. In addition, as distributed computing over networks gains popularity, departmental computing systems are gradually adopted in an organization to facilitate collaboration of geographically dispersed multiple departments. In departmental collaborative model management systems, multiple departments share common models but approach them with different user-views depending on their departmental needs. Moreover, the shared models become evolved as their structures and the corresponding data sets change due to the dynamic nature of the operating environment and the inherent uncertainty associated with the problems. In such capacity, providing the multiple departmental users with synchronized and consistent views of the models is important to improve the overall productivity. In this paper, we propose a collaborative model management framework for coordinating model change and automatic user-view update in a departmental computing environment. To do so, we describes changes in the model and their effects occurred in departmental model management environments and identifies the constructs and processes for maintaining the consistency between a shared model and its departmental user-views. Especially, in this framework, generic model concept was adopted for accommodating diverse mathematical models in a uniform way in a modelbase and object-oriented database management systems(ODBMS) for combining the model management constructs and automatic user-view update mechanisms in a single formalism. A prototype object-oriented modeling environment was developed using an ODBMS called ObjectStore and $C^{++}$ programming language on Windows NT.

The Current Status and Tasks of Future Directions in Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics[1] (한국운동역학회 현황과 발전방향 과제[1])

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the current status and suggest tasks of future directions for development of the Korean Society of Sport Biomechanics(KSSB). KSSB was established in the 22th of Oct.,1988. It is one of the great National Society recognized by the Korean Research Foundation, and consists of almost 350 members over national Sport Biomechanists. Two roles-functions of KSSB are as follows; one is an Independent Society by KSSB, the other is a sub-Society under Korean Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance(KAHPERD) run by 15 sub-Societies. The 2 great strategies toward all over the world of KSSB were Localization and Globalization. The grand four projects of KSSB in $2005{\sim}2006yrs$ are as followers: 1) The rationalization of organization-operating and decentralization, 2) The international levels of society, 3) The internationalizaton of quality of Korean Journal of Sport Biomechanics, and 4) The presentation award by quarterly and double-movements of members of KSSB. The tasks of future direction for development of KSSB are as followers : The localization and globalization of KSSB( see above as figure 4, table 12, 13, 14).

Analysis of the Situation of the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Japan (일본 의용소방대 실태의 분석)

  • Japan has a very advanced volunteer fire brigade system as an interdependent organization by local residents due to frequent natural disasters. Japan has fostered and developed the volunteer fire brigade in the national level to response rapidly and appropriately to earthquake or natural disasters even in the urban area that has sufficient fire stations and fire officers. This study analyzes the situation of operating the volunteer fire brigade in Japan in detail and compares the result with Korean situation. Finally, this study suggests policies which can be introduced to activate the volunteer fire brigade in Korea.

  • Enterprise Risk Management(ERM) is aiming at the establishment of the risk management process to prevent and cope with risks in advance and is composed of Risk Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Response and Monitoring. It is feedback through the Risk Re-identification. This study has analysed a sample of the risk management system of an airport operating corporation, for this purpose, relevant documents and examples of overseas airports have been reviewed. It has found that corporations establishing ERM have been performing identical procedures such as the process of Identification, Assessment, Effective Reporting, Communication and monitoring and so on. The A corporation has established the process for risk management and crisis management and organized for its organization and system. The risk management has the same process such as above. In this process, when the symptoms of critical crisis have been recognized, it has been transformed into crisis management system, through which, corporate-wide response has been conducted in the process of crisis status analysis, response and follow-up management. This study expects to contribute to systematic foundation for future business continuity on the basis of risks and response procedures acknowledged by this study.

An Assessment of the Job Stress Factors and the Organizational Personality Types in the Procedure‐based Job Conditions of Nuclear Power Plants (원자력발전소의 절차서 기반 업무에서 직무스트레스의 조직요인과 조직성향 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the organizational types and the job stress factors that affect the procedure-based job performances in nuclear power plants(NPPs). We derived 24 organizational factors affecting to the job stress in NPPs from the job stress analysis models of NIOSH(1989), Cooper(1990), and Karasek(1990). onsidering the safety characteristic in operating tasks of NPPs, we individuate among the tasks in NPPs through the division of duty and the analysis of cost activity. Through the questionnaire survey, a structured interview with the responsible employees, and expert panels, we assess 70 tasks among 777 tasks managed officially under the procedures. They are the representative tasks to the duties of each division and are directly related to the safety. We utilize the OPTI(organizational personality type indicators) to characterize the personality type of each organization in NPPs.

  • This study tried to propose plan to prevent human error of railroad driver among human error of railroad worker which takes great share in railroad accident. For this, in order to maintain correlation between the accident actually occurred after the opening of high-speed railroad and experience of accident that did not happened, survey on respondent was analyzed by conducting survey on KTX captain who is working in driving work of high-speed railroad, and instruction management team manager who manages KTX captain and captain. This thesis classified the factors by human factor, job factor, environment factor, organization factor, and established human error management model by comparing and analyzing how each factors have spatial interrelations with a railroad accident. The purpose of this study is to contribute to make safe railroad, and reliable railroad by preventing human error accident by minimizing human error of high-speed railroad drivers, and improving driving workers to cope accurately and fast with irregularities through various institutional improvement, improvement of driving facilities, improvement of operating room environment, and improvement of education system.

A Study on space organization of the SeongBo(聖寶)Museum's of The Buddhist Temple (사찰 성보박물관의 공간구성에 관한 연구)

  • It is a world wide tread for museums to become specialized museums emphasizing their characteristics, but Seongbo museums(museums that preserve Buddhist artifacts) are more general and show no specialization or characterization. The purpose of this study is to emphasize the special character of the Seongbo museum which manages and maintains sacred Buddhist cultural artifacts, and to understand the architectural characteristics of the building distribution and interior composition to implement a more systematic spatial composition plan. For our analysis we selected 6 currently operating museums as our subjects, and analyzed the characteristics of their spatial composition through their plans including the plot plans and ground plans. As a result, we found that most of them were small scale museums, and that the character and rank of each building changed according to its positioning. In terms of areas, the museums consisted of exhibition areas, storage areas, maintenance areas, and other miscellaneous areas and were lacking areas for research and education. It is necessary for these museums to possess facilities for managing these cultural artifacts as well as adequate exhibition and storage spaces. Seongbo museums, which are connected with Buddhist temples, must possess differentiated preservation and maintenance methods unlike museums dealing with artifacts that need only be preserved, and must have an area plan suitable to the characteristics of the various artifacts near and around the temple so as to help build our Buddhist cultural heritage in a systematic and continuous matter.
