Treatment of mice with 0.04% anthranilic acid (AnA) as drinking water resulted in an apparent stimulation of pup's growth and food intake of mothers in their first lactations associated with an increased rearing rate and no alteration in plasma prolactin level. AnA showed no significant effects on the day of vaginal opening, the pattern of estrous cycles, plasma growth hormone level and endocrine organ weights of the female and male offspring. The growth of male offspring was significantly retarded by AnA, however, their reproductivity was quite normal. The results indicate the AnA can simulate lactation of mice through little modulation of endocrine systems.

This paper presents a method of compensating for the gain and phase imbalance of quadrature modulator and demodulator. The gain and phase imbalance are compensated using the received power after the compensation pattern was transmitted at tranceiver. The proposed method is less vulnerable to changes in the transmission channel than the conventional method because compensation is made possible within the tranceiver system, and even the change in phase mblance in accordance with frequency can be compensated utilizing the adaptive algorithm. According to numerical results, a normalized eye opening and a bit error rate are improved by 1.8dB and 3.8dB, respectively.

In this paper, we've studied on the Breakdownpatterns which hove an effect on Down-Time of Medical Equipment. This study is based on the statistics of MMS(Maintenance Management System) accumulated since the opening of Samsung Medical Center. We hope that this paper, which is acquired through the analysis about the seasonal feature, the work pattern feature and the period used, is useful to reduce a term of Down-Time and to retrench hospital management cost.

Many of aged and damaged concrete structure have been revitalized with composite reinforcement. Flexural behaviors of composite-patched concrete specimens are characterized by high-sensitivity moire interferometry. The three-mirror, four-beam interferometry system and a compact loading system are used for obtaining singe patterns representing whole-field contour maps of in-plane displacements. It is seen from the calibration test for the loading system that the measured bending displacement is in excellent agreement with the displacement calculated by the beam theory. The crack opening displacement as well as the bending and the horizontal displacement fur the notched and unnotched specimen are investigated. The results also show that the notched specimen reinforced by a composite sheet has sufficient stiffness and strength compared to the original concrete specimen.

We experienced one case of endobronchial hamartoma on left lower lobar bronchus in sixty year old male patient. Less than 1 % of lung tumors are benign, and the prevalence of endobronchial hamartoma is reported to be from 3 % to 40 %. The mean age was 52.9 years, and equal gender prevalence.Symptoms were related to intraluminal growth, including fever, chill, productive cough, hemoptysis, exertional dyspnea, recurrent pneumonia and so on. Bronchoscopic finding was tumor present as polypoid mass in the lumen of a left main stem bronchus,distal to 3 cm from carina. Biopsy was done. The histopathologic pattern showed several nodules of loose myxoid tissue and islands of cartilage. We performed partial resection of the affected bronchus,1cm anterior to the superior segmental bronchial opening to just distal from superior segmental orifice. Including superior segmentectomy, partial resection of the left lower lobar bronchial resection and end-to-end anastomosis with 4-0 Poly dioxanone sutere materials interruptedly. We report this case with the brief review of literatures.

A one-year-old, 3.25 kg intact male Chinchilla cat presented with acute right hind limb paralysis. Diagnostic imaging studies found cardiomegaly with interstitial lung pattern, abnormal mitral valve leaflets without maximum opening at the end of the ventricular diastole and during atrial systole and severe mitral inflow obstruction. Based on these findings and its young age, the case was diagnosed as congenital mitral valve stenosis. Treatment was directed to stabilize clinical conditions related to heart failure, to prevent further formation of thrombus and to relieve pain associated with thromboembolism. After one month of therapy, hind limb motor function was fully recovered.

Effects of the ambient air temperature and the opening position on the pattern of the clothing ventilation of a thermal manikin wearing an impermeable blouse were investigated by the trace gas method. Under an isothermal condition, the ventilation was governed by diffusion, and the ventilation rate through the wrist-openings was greatly affected by the distance from the openings. Under non-isothermal conditions, however, the ventilation was accelerated by the convection driven by the temperature gradient between the clothing microclimate and the surrounding air; the greater the temperature gradient, the greater the ventilation. Even though it was certainly affected by the ambient air temperature, the ventilation rate was more significantly influenced by the position of openings. The ventilation patterns at the arm and the body were distinctive.

Folder type electronic devices have hinge to support the rotational motion of folder. This hinge is stressed by the rotational inertia moment of folder at the maximum open limit position of folder. This stress is repeated whenever the folder is open, and it is a cause of hinge fracture. In this paper, the reliability evaluation for the hinge fracture in the folder type cellular phone is discussed. For this, the durability testing machine using crank-rocker mechanism is developed to evaluate the life cycle of the hinge, and the degradation after repetitions of opening and shutting is evaluated from the deformation around the hinge, where the deformation is measured by ESPI (electronic speckle pattern interferometer). Experimental results showed that ESPI was able to measure the deformation of hinge precisely, so we could monitor the change of deformation around the hinge as the repetition number of folder open is increased.

Today the Seoul metro has become the most important public transportation since opening in 1974. However, planning and design of stations, transfer systems and facilities are discorded by different companies and subway lines. Therefore, there is lack of objective design guidelines to secure legibility and safety in subway space. In this context, we aim to investigate the objective design and planing guidelines in terms of people's cognition and space use pattern. Space syntax method which enables scientific analysis is utilized to examine spatial layout considering passenger's spatial behavior. The research resulted in providing objective design and planning standards.

Reconfigurable computing is a new computing paradigm which has more potential in terms of performance and flexibility. Reconfigurable computing systems are opening a new era in digital signal processing such as multimedia, communication and consumer electronics because they can filter data rapidly and excel at pattern recognition, image process- ing and encryption. Although many reconfigurable computing systems use a conventional programmable device, they carry several serious problems to be solved. This paper proposes a logic block architecture of programmable device suit-able for the reconfigurable computing. Compared to conventional logic blocks, our logic block can improve implementation density, efficiency and speed.
