발전소 변압기 밀폐구조의 음향해석 (An Acoustical Analysis on the Transformer Enclosure in Power Plants)

  • The enclosure with a small opened area is extensively used in power plants to reduce the propagating noise from transformers. The radiation impedance associated with the location and width of the opened area, and the geometric configurations of internal acoustic field is very important to determine the basic acoustic characteristics of this partial enclosure. In this study, two-dimensional rectangular chambers with opened areas are investigated to examine the acoustic properties of the enclosure. The mode expansions of the physical variables defined on boundary surfaces are introduced to derive a simple algebraic equation. The acoustic characteristics can be easily predicted by this analytical approach, and the results well agree with physical grounds. Physical concepts as results of this work will be helpful to use the partial enclosure as a noise control element.

수평격판을 갖는 상부가 부분 개방된 밀폐공간내의 자연대류 (Natural Convection in a Partially Opened Enclosure with a Horizontal Divider)

  • Natural convective flow and heat transfer characteristics in a partially opened enclosure fitted with a horizontal divider are investigated numerically. The enclosure is composed of a lower hot and a upper cold horizontal walls and adiabatic vertical walls. A divider is attached perpendicularly to the vertical insulated wall. The governing equations are solved by using the finite element method with Galerkin method. The computations have been carried out by varying the length of divider, the opening size, and the Rayleigh number based on the temperature difference between two horizontal walls and the enclosure height for air(Pr=0.71). As result, when the opening size is fixed, the intensity of the secondary flow is weaken as the length of divider increases. The maximum heat transfer rate over the upper cold wall occurs at a position bounded on the opening. However, when the length of divider is increased considerably, its maximum occurs at the right wall. The stability and frequency of oscillation are affected by the Rayleigh number and length of divider. The Nusselt number is increased with the increase of the opening size and the increase of Rayleigh number.

  • In engine room, proper enclosure system is preferable for reducing noise level but the enclosure system in the engine room causes bad influence on cooling performance due to poor ventilation. Cooling efficiency of the enclosure system can be improved by varying fan speed and proper flow path for ventilation. In this study, numerical analysis is performed to assess cooling effect of the enclosure system using finite volume method. The RNG k-$\varepsilon$ model is adopted for turbulence model along with heat exchanger model and porous media model for heat exchanger analysis, and moving reference frame model for rotational fan. Verification result shows reasonable agreement with experimental data. Analysis results show direct effect of velocity and temperature distribution on cooling ability in the enclosure system. Enclosure system of case B shows high heat transfer coefficient and has the smallest area ratio of opened flow passages which is good for noise level reduction.

열림방향을 이용한 자동차번호판 숫자인식 (Digit Recognition for Vehicle License Plate Based on Opened Enclosure)

  • 본 논문에서는 열림부분에 기반을 둔 자동차 번호판의 숫자인식 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 인식기법에서 숫자를 상부와 하부로 나누고, 각각에 대해 열림부분을 판정하여 숫자를 인식한다. 제안된 기법에서, 상부와 하부의 분할은 정해진 절단선을 바탕으로 하며, 교점의 개수에 따라 절단선의 위치가 조절된다. 제안된 방법은 템플릿 매칭 방법에 비해 잡음이나 회전 등의 영향을 받지 않으며 강건하다. 모의실험에서 제안된 기법의 성능을 평가하기 위해 번호판에 사용되는 숫자들에 대해 처리를 하고, 그 결과를 제시하였다. 제안된 기법은 번호판의 숫자인식에서 매우 높은 인식률을 보인다.

  • In order to establish detailed plans for fire protection and reduce the possible fire accidents in the future, a study on the shock wave caused by VCE(Vapor Cloud Explosion) is very important. Destruction phenomena of structure by gas explosion is due to the explosion pressure and heat. Explosion pressure is a kind of energy converted from the gas mixture explosion. Therefore, the propagation progress of shock wave and flame is very important. This study investigated the shock wave caused by VCE in enclosure with opened vent port. From a result, the vent port of top at the straight line of ignition and leak location was opened most rapidly, and the vertical vent port not opened.

  • Natural convection heat transfer in an enclosure with an opening in the right vertical wall and a heat source at the bottom surface is investigated using a holographic interferometric technique. The effects of the opening length, divider length attached to the top wall, and heater temperature on the temperature distribution are examined. The openging length as well as the divider length greatly affects the degree of inflow and outflow of air. With a small opening, the opening doesn't affect much the upward warm air flow resulting in the symmetric temperature distribution. On the other hand, with the increase of the opening length, the inward cold flow moves the upward flow to the left direction. With the increase of the divider length, temperature in the lower region of enclosure becomes higher for the small opening and lower for the large opening.

The effects of the opening length, divider length attached to the top wall, and heater temperature on the temperature distribution are examined. The opening length as well as the divider length greatly affects the degree of inflow and outflow of air. In the case of small opening length, the opening doesnt affect much the upward warm air flow resulting in the symmetric temperature distribution .The upward flow in hindered by the divider resulting in the decrease of heat transfer from the heater region to the upper region. The longest divider shows the highest temperature in the lower region of enclosure. In the case of large opening length, the inward cold flow moves the upward flow to the left direction. Among the cases of different divider length, the case of H(sub)d=0.25H shows the highest temperature in the lower region of enclosure.

  • The propose of this study is to suggest objective data to be utilized for a plan and the improvement of open space through the analysis of people's behaviour and satisfaction after the introduction of an opened-fence around offices followed by a plan for wall-afforestation of public institution's. The sites examined are four offices; two of them have opened-walls and the others have traditional enclosure. Analysis of frequency is conducted to understand the actual use according to people's individual peculiarities. Pearson's correlation analysis, t-test, multiple regression analysis are carried out to find out relations of fluents. In the end, the satisfaction is high in public institution satisfaction, entrance, space perception. stability, Landscaped office with opened-fence rather than fence, and the increase in usage of fluent of public institution satisfaction, entrance, space perception. stability, confusion brings about rising of use-satisfaction. Satisfaction with the exterior of building is the most important variable that influences the whole urban open space. Furthermore the influences of the approach and stability having connection with open or not-open fence is major variable affecting satisfaction of use of open space. Whether open or not is important factor on satisfaction of open space of office building. Through this study, we can find that opened fence determines use satisfaction of resting space of outdoor-office. So factors affecting satisfaction must be regarded as important requisite on planning, design, development and management in plan for afforestation of fence at public institution.

밀폐공간내 화재에 의해 생성된 연소가스 분석 및 유동에 관한 연구 (A study on the Analysis of Combustion Gas and its Flow Induced by Fire in an Enclosure)

  • The natural convection and combined heat transfer induced by fire in a rectangular enclosure is numerically studied. The model for this numerical analysis is partially opened, it is divided by a vertical baffle projecting from ceiling. The solution procedure Includes the standard k- $\varepsilon$ model for turbulent flow and the discrete ordinates method (DOM ) is used for the calculation of radiative heat transfer equation. In this study, numerical simulation on the combined naturnal convection and radiation is carried out in a partial enclosure filled with absorbed-emitted gray media, but is not considered scattering problem. The velocity vectors, streamlines, and isothermal lines are compared the results of pure convection with those of the combined convection-radiation, the combined heat transfer. Comparing the results of pure convection with those of the combined convection-radiation, the combined heat transfer analysis shows the stronger circulation than those of the pure convection. Three different locations of heat source are considered to observe the effect of heat source location on the heat transfer phenomena. As the results, the circulation and the heat transfer In the left region from heating block are much more influenced than those in the right region. It is also founded that the radiation effect cannot be neglected in analyzing the building in fire.
