  • Since open-cut mining excavates gradually from the top of the mountain, vegetation planting is needed to reduce negative environmental impact on the surrounding environment. Accordingly, this study aimed at performing the environmental monitoring of the open-cut mining ground using the satellite remote sensing technique. As the research technique, in order to grasp the environmental change around the open-cut mining ground, NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) was calculated, and every year change of the vegetation activity was analyzed. The results of the study showed lower vegetation activity in the open-cut mining ground compared to the surrounding areas and suggested the need for closed monitoring by remote sensing techniques.

  • In this paper, we present open hardware platforms for Internet of Things (IoTs) emphasizing their strengths and weaknesses. We introduce six representative platforms, Raspberry PI, Arduino, Garileo, Edison, Beagle board and Artik. We define important performance issues for open hardware platforms for IoTs and analyze recent platforms according to the performance issues. We present recent research project using open hardware platforms introduced in this paper. We believe that this paper provide wise view and necessary information for open hardware platforms for Internet of Things (IoT).

  • Open-source software development projects are well suited for exploring new ideas and acquiring knowledge from developers outside of the project. In this paper, we examine the impact of external developers on innovation in open-source software development from the perspective of organizational learning theory. We examine the roles of external and internal developers, who "explore" and "exploit," respectively, on the innovation performance of 17 691 open-source software development projects whose data is stored in the GitHub platform. The results indicate that a multifaceted strategy, in which the exploitation successfully supports the exploration, is most effective for their success. The results also indicate that the role of exploration decreases after the release of the software.

  • Software Defined Networking (SDN) is a new network paradigm, allowing administrators to manage networks through central controllers by separating control plane from data plane. So, one or more controllers must locate outside switches. However, this separation may cause delay problems between controllers and switches. In this paper, we therefore propose a Priority-based Scheduling policy for OpenFlow (PSO) to reduce the delay of some significant traffic. Our PSO is based on packet prioritization mechanisms in both OpenFlow switches and controllers. In addition, we have prototyped and experimented on PSO using a network simulator (ns-3). From the experimental results, PSO has demonstrated low delay for targeted traffic in the out-of-brand control network. The targeted traffic can acquire forwarding rules with lower delay under network congestion in control links (with normalized load > 0.8), comparing to traditional OpenFlow. Furthermore, PSO is helpful in the in-band control network to prioritize OpenFlow messages over data packets.

  • Open and Judge in group signature schemes can be brought into the management of misbehaving users. Unfortunately, when Open and Judge of a certain group signature are used into another group signature that adopts the same linear encryption, they are not suitable for processing exceptions due to well-behaved users. In this paper, for all group signatures based on the linear encryption, we propose and discuss new Open and Judge that are suitable for processing exceptions due to well-behaved users.

  • Purpose: The neck is a particularly critical region for penetrating injuries due to the close proximity of the trachea, esophagus, blood vessels, and the spinal cord. An open neck injury has the potential for serious morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the assessment and management of open neck injuries. Methods: In this retrospective study, open neck injury patients who were admitted to the Trauma Center of Daejeon Eulji Medical Center, Eulji University between December 2015 and December 2017 were analyzed for epidemiology, the mechanism of trauma, the injured organ, complications, and mortality. Results: Thirty-two patients presented with open neck injuries. All patients underwent computed tomographic angiography to evaluate their injuries once their vital signs stabilized. Among these patients, 27 required surgical treatment. The most commonly injured organ was the airway. There were five deaths, and the main cause of death was bleeding. Mortality was associated with the initial systolic blood pressure at the hospital and Glasgow Coma Scale. Conclusions: Mortality from open neck injuries was associated with initial systolic blood pressure at the hospital and Glasgow Coma Scale.

  • As autonomous driving research is actively progressing, lane detection is an essential technology in ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) to locate a vehicle and maintain a route. Lane detection is detected using an image processing algorithm such as Hough transform and RANSAC (Random Sample Consensus). This paper implements a linear shape detection algorithm using OpenCV on Raspberry Pi 3 B+. Thresholds were set through OpenCV Gaussian blur structure and Canny edge detection, and lane recognition was successful through linear detection algorithm.

  • Open-pit mines are the critical infrastructure for acquiring natural resources. Since it could be endangered by environmental and safety problems during operations, continuous monitoring is required for this type of mine. However, the domestic level management and accumulation of present state data of the topographical alteration are incurred by the development and restoration of open-pit mines relying on digital topographic maps and site surveys. Because of it, other than an expert cannot be viewed easily examines those changes information of open-pit mines in the domestic level. If the efficient management and public access of the open-pit mine is targeted, it is easy to build a web-based three-dimensional monitoring system, utilized in the space information software of open source. Therefore, we purposed on developing an open-pit mine monitoring system to support the development and restoration of the ecology-friendly environment, which could be easily monitored by the general public for those changes within terrain and environments due to operations of the mine.

  • In this paper, we introduce the notions of mean open and closed sets in topological spaces, and obtain some properties of such sets. We observe that proper paraopen and paraclosed sets are identical to mean open and closed sets respectively.

  • In this paper, we introduce the relatively new notion of fuzzy ${\omega}^O$-open set. We prove that the collection of all fuzzy ${\omega}^O$-open subsets of a fuzzy topological space forms a fuzzy topology that is finer than the original one. Several characterizations and properties of this class are also given as well as connections to other well-known "fuzzy generalized open" subsets.
