Recently among several tennis techniques forehand stroke has been greatly changed in the aspect of spin, grip and stance. The most fundamental factor among the three factors is the stance which consists of open, square and close stance and it is very important to know the patterns of plantar pressure distribution for the better understanding of forehand stroke. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the change of plantar pressure distribution in open stance during forehand stroke in tennis. Three high school tennis players were recruited for the study and required to perform forehand stroke five consecutive trials in the condition of open stance. The forehand strokes were filmed with two digital video cameras and measured with pedar system for plantar pressure. The plantar regions under the foot were divided into 3 regions, which were forefoot, midfoot, and rear foot. In conclusion, The plantar pressure of open stance during forehand stroke was distributed more largely to the right foot. 과부하 4방향 사각형 합류맨홀에서의 에너지 손실 저감을 위한 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study for Reduction of Energy losses at Surcharged Four-way Combining Square Manhole)

  • 과부하 맨홀에서의 에너지 손실은 도심지의 침수피해를 가중시키는 요인이 된다. 그러므로 과부하 4방향 합류맨홀에서 에너지 손실의 저감을 위한 흐름특성 분석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 현황조사 결과를 고려하여 수리실험 장치를 제작하였으며, 사각형 맨홀 및 연결관은 하수도시설 기준을 준용하여 1/5로 축소 제작하였다. 또한 과부하 4방향 사각형 합류맨홀에서 에너지 손실을 저감 시킬 수 있는 인버트 형상 조건을 도출하기 위하여 Fluent 6.3모형으로 수치모의를 실시하였다. 선정된 수리실험 조건인 유출유량($Q_{out}$)에 대한 측면 유입유량($Q_{lar}$)의 비($Q_{lat}/Q_{out}$)와 유출유량(2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 4.8 l/sec) 및 인버트 형상 변화 조건(십자형, 개선형)을 변화시키며 수리실험을 실시하였다. 십자형 인버트는 과부하 4방향 합류 맨홀의 배수능력 향상에 영향이 미미한 것으로 분석되었다. 그러나 개선된 직사각 개거형 인버트와 정사각 개거형 인버트는 각각 평균적으로 약 7%, 28%의 손실계수가 감소하여 배수능력을 개선하는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 도시 관거 시설의 배수능력을 증대시키기 위하여 본 연구에서 제시된 개선형 인버트의 설치 및 활용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • 선박용 무선 LNA은 설비의 용이성 원가절감, 다양한 기능성에 따라 각광 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 LAN 주파수인 2.4 GHz대역과 5 GHz대역의 이중 대역통과 필터를 사각패치를 적용한 이중모드 사각 루프 공진기를 이용하여 설계하는 방법을 제안하였다. 사각패치 형태인 한 개의 perturbation element와 세 개의 reference element의 크기를 조절하여 2.4 GHz와 5.8 GHz의 두 주파수 대역에서 만족하는 이중 대역통과 필터를 설계하였으며, 나아가서 개방 스터브를 적용시켜 서지대역을 조절하여 2.4 GHz와 5.2 GHz의 두 주파수 대역에서 만족하는 새로운 형태의 이중 대역통과 필터를 설계하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제작된 이중 대역통과 필터의 설계 결과와 측정 결과가 거의 일치하였으며, 따라서 본 논문이 제안한 설계 방법이 타당함을 확인하였다.

Modeling and simulation of VERA core physics benchmark using OpenMC code

  • Detailed analysis of the neutron pathway through matter inside the nuclear reactor core is exceedingly needed for safety and economic considerations. Due to the constant development of high-performance computing technologies, neutronics analysis using computer codes became more effective and efficient to perform sophisticated neutronics calculations. In this work, a commercial pressurized water reactor (PWR) presented by Virtual Environment for Reactor Applications (VERA) Core Physics Benchmark are modeled and simulated using a high-fidelity simulation of OpenMC code in terms of criticality and fuel pin power distribution. Various problems have been selected from VERA benchmark ranging from a simple two-dimension (2D) pin cell problem to a complex three dimension (3D) full core problem. The development of the code capabilities for reactor physics methods has been implemented to investigate the accuracy and performance of the OpenMC code against VERA SCALE codes. The results of OpenMC code exhibit excellent agreement with VERA results with maximum Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) values of less than 0.04% and 1.3% for the criticality eigenvalues and pin power distributions, respectively. This demonstrates the successful utilization of the OpenMC code as a simulation tool for a whole core analysis. Further works are undergoing on the accuracy of OpenMC simulations for the impact of different fuel types and burnup levels and the analysis of the transient behavior and coupled thermal hydraulic feedback.

과부하 사각형 맨홀의 배수능력 증대에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study for Drainage Capacity Increment at Surcharged Square Manholes)

  • Urban sewer systems are designed to operate in open-channel flow regime and energy loss at square manholes is usually not significant. However, the energy loss at surcharged manholes is considered as one of the major causes of inundation in urban area. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the head loss associated with manholes, especially in surcharged flow. Hydraulic experimental apparatus which can change the manhole inner profile(CASE I, II, III, and IV) and the invert types(CASE A, B, C) were installed for this study. The experimental discharge was $16{\ell}/sec$. As the ratio of b/D(manhole width/inflow pipe diameter) increases, head loss coefficient increases due to strong horizontal swirl motion. The head loss coefficients for CASE I, II, III, and IV were 0.46, 0.38, 0.28 and 0.37, respectively. Side covers increase considerably drainage capacity at surcharged square manhole when the ratio of d/D(side cover diameter/inflow pipe diameter) was 1.0. The head loss coefficients for CASE A, B, and C were 0.45, 0.37, and 0.30, respectively. Accordingly, U-invert is the most effective for energy loss reduction at surcharged square manhole. This head loss coefficients could be available to evaluate the urban sewer system with surcharged flow.

A Chi-Square-Based Decision for Real-Time Malware Detection Using PE-File Features

  • The real-time detection of malware remains an open issue, since most of the existing approaches for malware categorization focus on improving the accuracy rather than the detection time. Therefore, finding a proper balance between these two characteristics is very important, especially for such sensitive systems. In this paper, we present a fast portable executable (PE) malware detection system, which is based on the analysis of the set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) called by a program and some technical PE features (TPFs). We used an efficient feature selection method, which first selects the most relevant APIs and TPFs using the chi-square ($KHI^2$) measure, and then the Phi (${\varphi}$) coefficient was used to classify the features in different subsets, based on their relevance. We evaluated our method using different classifiers trained on different combinations of feature subsets. We obtained very satisfying results with more than 98% accuracy. Our system is adequate for real-time detection since it is able to categorize a file (Malware or Benign) in 0.09 seconds.

울란바타르시 학교 내 녹지 감소원인에 관한 연구 (Study on the Causes of Open Space Loss of Schools in Ulaanbaatar City)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the loss of open space of schools in Ulaanbaatar city and found out main causes of the conversion trend of open space to suggest alternatives. 76 designated sites were selected from 118 public schools within 6 districts of Ulaanbaatar city. These 76 schools were eligible for analysis of the open space change between 2005 and 2015 with Google Earth Pro. The results showed that $175,048m^2$ open space was developed and two dominant types of open space conversion were found; 1) constructions of school facilities such as soccer field, extended school buildings, parking lot, sidewalk, and square, and 2) constructions of apartment buildings and service facilities such as community center, pedestrian, sports facilities, and parking lot. Apartment complex development has commonly happened in all districts and caused bigger open space loss than other types of development. Chingeltei district is located in the center of Ulaanbaatar city, and schools in this district lost the biggest open space, $50,036m^2$/35.24% over 10 years. The rate of open space loss seemed to be related to the distance from the urban center and open space loss was an ongoing event in Ulaanbaatar city. This trend would not be improved without a strong regulation, so, in this study, making strict regulations that prevent conversions of open space were suggested to conserve open space in Ulaanbaatar city.

Risk factors for unexpected readmission and reoperation following open procedures for shoulder instability: a national database study of 1,942 cases

  • Background: The purpose of this study was to identify demographics and risk factors associated with unplanned 30-day readmission and reoperation following open procedures for shoulder instability and examine recent trends in open shoulder instability procedures. Methods: The American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (ACS-NSQIP) database was queried using current procedural terminology (CPT) codes 23455, 23460, and 23462 to find patients who underwent shoulder instability surgery from 2015 to 2019. Independent sample Student t-tests and chi-square tests were used in univariate analyses to identify demographic, lifestyle, and perioperative variables related to 30-day readmission following repair for shoulder instability. Multivariate logistic regression modeling was subsequently performed. Results: In total, 1,942 cases of open surgical procedures for shoulder instability were identified. Within our study sample, 1.27% of patients were readmitted within 30 days of surgery, and 0.85% required reoperation. Multivariate logistic regression modeling confirmed that the following patient variables were associated with a statistically significant increase in the odds of readmission: open anterior bone block/Latarjet-Bristow procedure, being a current smoker, and a long hospital stay (all P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression modeling confirmed statistically significant increased odds of reoperation with an open anterior bone block or Latarjet-Bristow procedure (P<0.05). Conclusions: Unplanned 30-day readmission and reoperation after open shoulder instability surgery is infrequent. Patients who are current smokers, have an open anterior bone block or Latarjet-Bristow procedure, or a longer than average hospital stay have higher odds of readmission than others. Patients who undergo an open anterior bone block or Latarjet-Bristow procedure have higher odds of reoperation than those who undergo an open soft-tissue procedure. Level of evidence: III.
