In chip plating, several parameters must be taken into consideration. Current density, solution concentration, pH, solution temperature, components volume, chip and media ratio, barrel geometrical shape were most likely found to have an effect to the process yields. The 3 types of barrels utilized in chip plating industry are the conventional rotating barrel. vibrational barrel (vibarrel), and the centrifugal type. Conventional rotating barrel is a close type and is commonly used. The components inside the barrel are circulated by the barrel's rotation at a horizontal axis. Process yield has known to have higher thickness deviation. The vibrational barrel is an open type which offers a wide exposure to electrolyte resulting to a stable thickness deviation. It rotates in a vertical axis coupled with multi-vibration action to facilitate mixed up and easy transportation of components, The centrifugal barrel has its plated work centrifugally compacted against the cathode ring for superior electrical contact with simultaneous rotary motion. This experiment has determined the effect of barrel vibration intensity to the plating thickness distribution. The procedures carried out in the experiment involved the overall plating process., cleaning, rinse, Nickel plating, Tin-Lead plating. Plating time was adjusted to meet the required specification. All other parameters were maintained constant. Two trials were performed to confirm the consistency of the result. The thickness data of the experiment conducted showed that the average mean value obtained from higher vibrational intensity is nearer to the standard mean. The distribution curve shown has a narrower specification limits and it has a reduced variation around the target value, Generally, intensity control in vi-barrel facilitates mixed up and easy transportation of components, However, it is desirable to maintain an optimum vibration intensity to prevent solution intrusion into the chips' internal electrode. A cathodic reaction can occur in the interface of the external and internal electrode. $2HD{\;}+{\;}e{\;}{\rightarrow}20H{\;}+{\;}H_2$ Hydrogen can penetrate into the body and create pressure which can cause cracks. At high intensity, the chip's motion becomes stronger, its contact between each other is delayed and so plating action is being controlled. However, the strong impact created by its collision can damage the external electrode's structure thereby resulting to bad plating condition. 1 lot of chip was divided into two equal partion. Each portion was loaded to the same barrel one after the other. Nickel plating and tin-lead plating was performed in the same station. Portion A maintained the normal barrel vibration intensity and portion B vibration intensity was increased two steps higher. All other parameters, current, solution condition were maintained constant. Generally, plating method find procedures were carried out in a best way to maintained the best plating condition. After plating, samples were taken out from each portion. molded and polished. Plating thickness was investigated for both. To check consistency of results. 2nd trial was done now using different lot of another characteristics.
The purpose of the research is to tackle proximity effects (PEs) when nonmarket valuation method CVM is applied to environmental goods such as tidal flats. 1,000 households are surveyed in the ratio of national household for the research. The sample are reclassified into five areas by 30-minute distance. Log-linear are used to analysis PEs in the research. On conclusion log-linear model regarding income effects proves that PEs are apparently represented in NMVMs(${\theta}_1$ >0. ${\theta}_2$ >0 and $dum1{\neq}0$, $dum2{\neq}0$, $dum3{\neq}0$, $dum4{\neq}0$) as a result of a 5 per cent significant level of t -test and F-test, finally rejecting the null hypothesis. In addition, WTP of area I respondents shows 26 per cent more then that of area V respondents, which is from \87,969 to \64,866 in the open-ended format. Finally, the research proves that the PEs in CVM are evidently represented with the econometric model, hence the PEs have to be embedded into the questionnaire of non-market valuation methods with the environmental goods to reduce the underestimation and improve the estimation accuracy.
Drainage is needed to run off excessive water stress during the rainy season for soybean cultivation in the converted upland from paddy field. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of planting dates and drainage methods on growth and yield of sprout soybeans in the converted upland from paddy field. The stem and root growth at flowering stage showed no difference by drainage method but plant height, number of nodes and branches, and fresh weight of stem and root were much greater as planting date delayed. Seed yield was correlated positively with fresh weight of stem and root, and T/R ratio at the flowering stage, respectively. Lodging degree was not different by drainage method but was higher in planting at June 16 than May 15. Number of pods and 100 seed weight were not different by drainage method and 100 seed weight was heavy in Eunhakong, light in Kwangankong as planting date delayed. Higher seed yield was observed in surface drainage than open ditched drainage. Yield performance of Eunhakong was good in late planting, while that of Kwangankong was in early planting.

This study deals with the characteristics of view landscape in modern Daegu city which were analysed employing geographic information system(GIS). The view landscape analysis was performed by using GIS that enables to overlap land use map with the map of range of visibility, and the 3-D simulation. The results are as follows; First of all, the ratio of forest is enormously high in the range of visibility. The distribution of landscape components allows the dwellers to obtain a clear view towards forests from anywhere. The landscape components include west eroded lowlands, east open rolling lands, east eroded lowlands, and high mountain areas: Apsan(Mt.) in the south; Waryoungsan(Mt.) in the west; and Hamjisan(Mt.) and Hakbong(Mt.) in the north. On the tops of those, people are able to secure a clear vision from the viewpoint towards the surrounding mountains because of the rural areas continuing from the viewpoint to the mountains. A continuous view landscape has been formed by these natural environmental factors. Finally, there are multiple view targets with relatively high altitude that are covered with forests in the space between the urban area and the outer mountains that are higher than the view targets, which provides a scenery of mountains overlapped by higher mountains.
In this study, an approx. 2.5-kb gene fragment including the catalase gene from Rhodospirillum rubrum S1 was cloned and characterized. The determination of the complete nucleotide sequence revealed that the cloned DNA fragment was organized into three open reading frames, designated as ORF1, catalase, and ORF3 in that order. The catalase gene consisted of 1,455 nucleotides and 484 amino acids, including the initiation and stop codons, and was located 326 bp upstream in the opposite direction of ORF1. The catalase was overproduced in Escherichia coli UM255, a catalase-deficient mutant, and then purified for the biochemical characterization of the enzyme. The purified catalase had an estimated molecular mass of 189 kDa, consisting of four identical subunits of 61 kDa. The enzyme exhibited activity over a broad pH range from pH 5.0 to pH 11.0 and temperature range from $20^{\circ}C$ to $60^{\circ}C$C. The catalase activity was inhibited by 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, cyanide, azide, and hydroxylamine. The enzyme's $K_m$ value and $V_{max}$ of the catalase for $H_2O_2$ were 21.8 mM and 39,960 U/mg, respectively. Spectrophotometric analysis revealed that the ratio of $A_{406}$ to $A_{280}$ for the catalase was 0.97, indicating the presence of a ferric component. The absorption spectrum of catalase-4 exhibited a Soret band at 406 nm, which is typical of a heme-containing catalase. Treatment of the enzyme with dithionite did not alter the spectral shape and revealed no peroxidase activity. The combined results of the gene sequence and biochemical characterization proved that the catalase cloned from strain S1 in this study was a typical monofunctional catalase, which differed from the other types of catalases found in strain S1.

The biogeochemical information of riverine organic matter gives a detailed and integrated recording of natural and anthropogenic activity within a watershed. To investigate the changes in quality and quantity of organic carbon transporting from mountain to ocean via river channels, we estimated the concentrations of dissolved (DOC) and particulate organic carbon (POC), and then traced the source origin of POC using stable carbon isotopes ratio before and after summer rainfalls in the Tamjin River and Ganjin Bay, Korea. Along the small watershed, a total of 13 sites including headwaters, dam reservoir, river and estuary were established for the study. We found some interesting findings in the aspect of distribution of DOC/POC concentration changing their origin sources dynamically flowing downstream. In particular, the river channel transport downstream mainly DOC to river mouth, although upper dam reservoir increased POC concentration by phytoplankton production in summer. Whereas, in the river mouth and estuary, POC was dominated not only by local supply from nearby reed saltmarsh, but also by marine phytoplankton production, respectively. The findings can contribute to increasing the understanding of riverine organic carbon transport in upper large dam and lower open estuary system.
Authors have reviewed the records of seven patients of multiple rib fractures with severe flail chest who were admitted to Hanyang University Hospital during the 3 years period from 1972 through 1975. Of the seven patients studied, automobile accidents led to the injuries in 4 cases, two patients were injured in fall from a tree and on the ox-heading. All who had a blunt trauma without any open wound on the chest. The numbers of the fractured ribs accounted for 6 to 9 of the ribs including double fractures from 3 to 5 ribs. The left side fractures occurred in the 6 patients and in the right only one patient. Thus the flail segment was more often located in the left antero-lateral position than in the right lateral position [the ratio was 6:1].. All cases had associated injuries. The injuries and multiple fractures were the most common associated injuries occurring in four and five of the patients respectively. The patients were classified as having associated head injuries when they were admitted in comatose or semicomatose state. When a major degree of instability of the thoracic cage exists, adequate respiratory change is not possible. For this reason the tracheostomy was performed in five patients in an acutely injured patient with flail chest only after an endotracheal tube has been inserted or after an endotracheal suction. All patients had secondary complications in the pleural cavity, such as hemothorax or hemopneumothorax with or without intrapulmonary hemorrhage and subcutaneous emphysema. Therefore, closed thoracostomy was performed in five patients in the emergency room. The thoracotomy was required in four patients: immediate operation without closed thoracostomy was performed in two patients and the thoracotomy was indicated in two patients after closed thoracostomy, because of increasing intrathoracic hemorrhage. As to the fixation of the flail segments, authors employed two techniques; one was towel clip traction of the flail segments and the other was intramedullary insertion of Kirschner`s wire in to the double fractured rib fragments for the fixation of the flail segments [Kirschner`s wire fixation]. Because` of an different results in the course of treatment between two techniques, data from patients with towel clip traction was compared with those from patients with thoracotomy and Kirschner`s wire fixation of the flail segments. Of the three patients with towel clip traction, two patients required bronchoscopic toilet due to lung atelectasis which developed because of inadequate motion of thoracic cage and poor expectoration. This was in contrast to the four patients with thoracotomy and Kirschner`s wire fixation, who didn`t these complication because of adequate motion of the thoracic cage and subsequent good expectoration.

To find antitumor constituents in the shake cultured mycelia of Agaricus campestris, the mycelia were extracted with hot water. Purification of the extract was carried out by ethanol precipitation and by ion exchange chromatography using DEAE-Sephadex A-50. Each fraction obtained during the purification procedure was examined for antitumor activity against sarcoma 180 in ICR mice. The antitumor fraction C was isolated. It showed 56.1% inhibition ratio at a dose of 20 mg/kg/day and consisted of a polysaccharide moiety (45%) and a protein moiety (18%). The polysaccharide was analyzed by G.L.C. and found to contain mannose (42.0%), glucose (25.5%), xylose (16.6%), fucose and galactose. The protein moiety was composed of 17 amino acids. The antitumor fraction A showed immunopotentiating activity by accumulating peritoneal macrophages and by increasing plaque-forming cells in mice.
'Superhongmi' is a new rice variety with reddish brown color developed from a crossing a high cyanidin 3-glucoside (C3G) content beeeds including Heugjinju and Suwon 425 and a big grain size breed such as Daeribbyeo. This variety heads on Sep. 5 and has 86.7 cm culm length. The fertility ratio of Superhongmi was about 81.7% and weight of 1,000-grain was about 26.8 g. The 1,000 grain weight of Superhongmi was heavier than that of Superjami. The total essential amino acid content of Superhongmi was lower than those of others. However, Superhongmi was high in tyrosine and arginine. Total polyphenol content of Superhongmi was 2 times higher than that of Heugjinju and flavonoid content was 8 times higher than that of Dongjinbyeo. In addition, hydroxy radical scavenging activity of Superhongmi was significantly higher than that of Dongjinbyeo. However, significant differences were not found in the newly breed colored rice. These results suggest that Superhongmi variety has very high value as a source of various functional food as well as stable food.

With recent interest organic farming the use of legumes including vetch and clover to provide N to adjacent crops is increasing in Korea. In the present studies, we conducted a trial to investigate the effects of the application of N rate on nitrogen fixation and transfer from vetch to barley in mixed stands. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Four different N rates(0, 75, 113 and 150/ha) was used and vetch+barley was broadcasted manually on 1.5 $\times$2 m plot in Oct. 2001. Half of urea and K$_{2}O, 200 Phosphate and 75 kg potash per ha were applied as basal dressing md half of N md 75 potash were used for topdressing to soil surface on MarctL 2002. The equivalent of 1kg ha$^{-1}$ at($^{15}$NH$_{4}$)$_{2}$SO$_{4}$ solution at 99.8 atom $\%$$^{15}$N excess was applied to the microplot in mid April. Forage was harvested from each plot at ground level and separated into barley and vetch. Total N content and It values of samples were determined using a continuous flow stable isotope ratio mass spectrometry(IsoPrime-EA. Micromass, UK.). The percentage of legume H fixed from atmospheric N2 were 95.0, 93.8, 94.4 and $84.8\%$ with increment of N levels. The percentage of N transfer from vetch to barley by N-difference method with increment of N fertilizer were from 58 to$49\%$ while 39 to $23\%$ in $^{15}$N-dilution method. The amount of transfer from vetch to barley were 87 to 68 kg/ ha with N level by N-difference moth여 and 58 to -56/ha with N application levels by $^{15}$N dilution method. The amount of nitrogen fixation per ha were from 150 kg / ha to 219 kg / ha by different method, but on the other side 49 to 105kg/ha by N$^{15}$-dilution.
