In this paper, we propose an effective tracking algorithm with an appearance model based on features extracted from a video frame with posture variation and camera view point adaptation by employing the non-adaptive random projections that preserve the structure of the image feature space of objects. The existing online tracking algorithms update models with features from recent video frames and the numerous issues remain to be addressed despite on the improvement in tracking. The data-dependent adaptive appearance models often encounter the drift problems because the online algorithms does not get the required amount of data for online learning. So, we propose an effective tracking algorithm with an appearance model based on features extracted from a video frame.
Recently, there are various reports on the case of using an Online Judge(OJ) system that enables students to develop problem solving abilities based on algorithms and programming. If informatics teachers and prospective informatics teachers have the ability to build and operate these systems for their school and students, they will be equipped with powerful instructional competencies related to computational thinking and problem solving ability. Therefore, this paper studied how to build and customize HUSTOJ-based open source online judge systems for school informatics education, and suggested the direction to apply it effectively at the school.

Purposes: The study aimed at examining the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the shift of online consumer purchasing behavior and whether the new behaviors would be maintained after the epidemic season. The study also aims to investigate how online customers change based on perceived risks. Research design and Methodology: The study investigated purchasing behavior of the same 377 online Vietnamese consumers during two periods: (1) during the period of social distancing and (2) one and half year after that, allowing data to be collected in real time, so that consumers do not have to recall their behavior. Results: Purchasing behavior appeared to be more influenced by gender, age and household size. Aged consumers are more concerned about risks than those in the younger group, who only worry about the risks during the pandemic. Consumers in households with two or more people are more concerned about the risks than those living alone. Female appeared to be more influential in both during and after pandemic than male. Conclusions: The findings contribute to clarify shift of online consumer purchasing behavior, which helps business to develop effective marketing strategies and enhance their presence in the e-commerce sector.

This study tried to identify factors affecting online activity before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. To this end, the effects of consumer innovativeness, self-esteem, and need for cognition on the activity of online media such as Internet and social media were investigated, and whether privacy concerns had a moderating effect. For this study, survey data from 2019(before the outbreak of COVID-19) to 2021(after the outbreak of COVID-19) of the 'Korea Media Panel Survey' surveyed by the Korea Information Society Development Institute was used for analysis. The research results that affect Internet activity are as follows. Before the outback of COVID-19, it was found that hedonic innovativeness and social innovativeness had a positive effect and cognitive innovativeness had a negative effect on increasing Internet activity. There was no moderating effect on privacy concerns. The period after the outbreak of COVID-19, need for cognition was found to have a positive effect on increasing social media activity. In addition, the moderating effect of privacy concerns was found in the relationship between need for cognition and Internet activity. There was no privacy concern effect before the outbreak of COVID-19, and the privacy concern effect appeared on functional innovation and need for cognition after the outbreak of COVID-19. This study aims to present various implications for companies to understand the characteristics of online consumers using the Internet and social media after the pandemic.
A growing body of research explores how users of online communities navigate through large-scale platforms to find the information they seek. This study builds on the theories of homophily, structural embeddedness, and social exchange to investigate how interest homophily and existing communication structures serve as mechanisms driving information searches and the subsequent formation of communication networks in these communities. Specifically, we analyze comment-on-post tie formation using network data from "Today's House," the largest online user community specializing in interior design in Korea. Employing the LR-QAP method, a permutation-based hypothesis testing algorithm for social network data, our research identifies that network tie formation is driven by both homophilous information searches based on instrumental and hedonic interests, as well as by structurally induced searches such as preferential attachment, reciprocity, and transitivity. In addition, we investigate the contingent effects of communication structure on homophilous tie formation. Our findings suggest that while network-wide structural characteristics enhance homophilous tie formation based on instrumental interests, local network processes leverage homophily based on hedonic interests. We conclude by discussing the theoretical implications of the differential influence of participation motivations on information search patterns and the practical implications for the design of online communities.

The 61st Korean Academy of Pediatric Dentistry congress was hosted online for the first time in 2020 due to coronavirus disease-19. The congress was operated using the ZOOM platform. The aim of this paper is to analyze and evaluate the overall satisfaction and feedbacks from congress participants via anonymous Google Forms online survey. A test meeting was previously organized before the actual congress to facilitate the smooth process and the participants overall showed high satisfaction. Members who participated in test meeting compared to those who did not, found it significantly helpful, which contributed overall higher satisfaction with the online congress. Abstracts were accepted from the current pediatric dentistry residents and the oral presentations were also held online for the first time. The presenters and the judges were overall very satisfied. In an unguaranteed situation of termination of coronavirus disease-19, the decision to conduct an online congress was a favorable option.
The purpose of our study was to figure out the generation gap between adolescents group and parents group in the sub-dimensions of perceptions on online games, such as harmfulness and benefits of online games, impacts and values of online games, parent-adolescent relationship with regard to online game activities, and government regulation of online games. To this end, we conducted online survey targeting middle or high school students and parents with children attending middle or high school regarding the perceptions on online games. As a result, we identified the similarities and differences between adolescents and parents generation in the sub-dimensions of perceptions on online games. Especially, we found significant differences between adolescents and parents generation in the perceptions on violence and sociality of online games. This result shows that the generation gap in these two factors may cause the conflict between parents and adolescents with regard to online game activities. Also, we ascertained the significant generation gap in the perception on parent-adolescent relationship with regard to online game activities. This result implies that parent-adolescent relationship in the developmental process of adolescents in real life was reflected in the perception on parent-adolescent relationship with regard to online game activities. Our contributions are in specifying the generation gap in the sub-dimensions of the perceptions on online games and in identifying the main causes of the conflict between parents group and adolescent group with regard to online game activities.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting the intention to use online collaboration tools for non-face-to-face educational environment in the perspective of the learners. Methods: For empirical analysis, the survey of this study was administered with data that were limited to experienced learners using online collaboration tools such as Google Docs, Allo, Padlet, and Slido in online education environments such as Zoom, Webex, MS Teams, etc. and valid 400 data were analyzed by SPSS(ver 22.0) and R(ver 4.1.0) program package. Results: The results of empirical analysis showed that performance expectancy were found to have an effect on reliability of system quality, empathy of service quality, playfulness and informativity of content quality among the characteristics of online collaboration tools. On the other hand, it was found that the security of system quality, responsiveness of service quality, and extroversion of user personality characteristics did not affect. It was analyzed that playfulness had the greatest positive effect, followed by informativity, empathy, and reliability. Among the characteristics of online collaboration tools, it was found that the reliability and security of system quality and informativity of content quality had an effect on the effort expectancy. It was analyzed that informativity has the greatest influence, followed by security and reliability. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it examines the perspectives of users and learners, who can be said to be the end customers of online collaboration tools. Based on the results of this study, it is expected that not only platform operators that provide online collaborative tools, but also providers that use online collaboration tools will have a significant impact on the development of edutech and infrastructure in the educational environment.
Background: This research evaluated the effectiveness of an online education model in teaching breast self-examination to university staff and students. Materials and Methods: 1,679 women participated in a breast self-examination online training program. Breast self-examination knowledge evaluation forms developed by Maurer (1997) were used in the research and were evaluated on a 100 point scale. Paired t-test and McNemar's Test statistics were employed. Results: The participants scored an average of 46.5 (14.0%) on knowledge on breast self-examination before training, but 77.4 (11.0%) one month after education and 76.7 (9.52%) after six months. There was a clear significant difference between these knowledge levels (p<0.05). Similarly, while the rate for systematic practice of breast self-examination among women was 30.8% before training it increased to 47.8% afterwards. Again the difference was significant (p<0.05). Conclusions: Online education is an effective method for teaching breast self-examination to women.
