The main purpose of this study is to develop and apply a means of connecting reading movement and Newspaper In Education (NIE) activities utilizing the voluntary participation and cooperation of local school districts and autonomous government entities. This is necessary to revitalize or systematize the environmental social life of reading newspapers and NIE activity. Literary or inquiry research will be initiated in this study in order to quantify the current or actual conditions of this connection, delineating the basic objectives of this study, and determining the developmental directions for continuing this study as related to the connection of reading movement and NIE activity. Anticipated study activities or major tasks are as follows. First, develop a variety of intended programs and learning materials necessary for each. Secondly, develop and establish corresponding online data and educational programs. Thirdly, a "cooperation" system must be established and training programs implemented reinforcing these ideas. And, lastly (and to gain wider acceptance), starting a public relations campaign to show or illustrate the benefits of this study and these intended research activities. In conclusion, if a connection between reading movement and NIE activity are fully established and periodically adjusted by means of continuing discussions on the merits or concerns based on the study findings, the full potential of the reading movement connection with NIE activity will be realized and achieved to its truest meaning and/or highest order.
The present study examines language used to talk about the global coronavirus pandemic during a three-month period of movement control order in Malaysia. More specifically, a corpus of online letters to the editor of a local popular national newspaper was collected during the time in which the official quarantine instruction was initiated, resulting in a total of 303 online letters written by Malaysians that were analyzed through use of corpus linguistics techniques. For this purpose, the latest version of #LancsBox 5.0 (Brezina et al., 2020) is used to analyze patterns of language surrounding the portrayal of Covid-19 and further visualizing them by use of collocation networks. Findings present 25 statistically significant collocates that share an interesting relationship in revealing what the letters are about and thus, reflecting how Malaysians perceive and receive news about the pandemic during this time. Recurring topics and expressions include describing the virus in terms of metaphorical use of language (Covid-19 does not discriminate), preparing for an economic fallout (Prihatin Economic Stimulus Package), and preference to associate Covid-19 as a pandemic (impacts of the Covid19 pandemic) rather than an outbreak (first/second/third wave of the outbreak). Implications of the study resonates with findings from Azizan et al. (2020) where constructions of positive discourse among Malaysian writers may reflect the culture and society that make up the nation.

A Full text retrieval system is a natural language document retrieval system in which the full text of all documents in a collection is stored on a computer so that every word in every sentence of every document can be located by the machine. This kind of IR System is recently becoming rapidly available online in the field of legal, newspaper, journal and reference book indexing. Increased research interest has been in this field. In this paper, research on full text databases and retrieval systems are reviewed, directions for research in this field are speculated, questions in the field that need answering are considered, and variables affecting online full text retrieval and various role that variables play in a research study are described. Two obvious research questions in full text retrieval have been how full text retrieval performs and how to improve the retrieval performance of full text databases. Research to improve the retrieval performance has been incorporated with ranking or weighting algorithms based on word occurrences, combined menu-driven and query-driven systems, and improvement of computer architectures and record structure for databases. Recent increase in the number of full text databases with various sizes, forms and subject matters, and recent development in computer architecture artificial intelligence, and videodisc technology promise new direction of its research and scholarly growth. Studies on the interrelationship between every elements of the full text retrieval situation and the relationship between each elements and retrieval performance may give a professional view in theory and practice of full text retrieval.
The aim of this paper is to investigate the usage of Korean markers -(n)un and -i/ka in editorial texts focusing on information structure. Noun phrases ending with the markers -(n)un and -i/ka were annotated semi-automatically using a corpus obtained from an online newspaper. Two important factors to determine the choice of markers were examined with the annotated data: referential givenness/newness and position in a sentence. Referential givenness and newness were adopted as indicators of information structure, topic and focus respectively. In addition to quantitative analysis, qualitative analysis was conducted on the selected data. The results suggest that both the marker -(n)un and -i/ka could carry a topic and a focus reading. Sentence position also played a crucial role in determining the marker, and the marker -i/ka was used more frequently in a later position of a sentence than the marker -(n)un.
Nepal is among the richest in terms of water resource availability and it is one of the most important natural resources of the country. Currently, 72% of the population is electrified through the national grid system. The power generation mix into the grid is hydro dominated with minor shares generated from solar and thermal (accounts for less than 1%). To achieve sustainable development in the power sector it is essential to diversify power generation mix into the grid. Knowing the facts, the government has a plan to achieve a 5-10% share of power generation from solar and mix it into the grid system. Solar is the second most abundant, prominent and free source of renewable in the context of Nepal. This study mainly focuses on the grid-connected solar system, its importance, present status, government efforts, and its need. It is based on the review of literature, news published in national newspaper online news and international organization's report.
As newspapers which have been major news media are being replaced by on-line news media in recent years, many researchers are paying attention to "comments(news users' short remarks on an article)", a newly emerged way of forming public opinion. This study is examining how the similarity between political disposition of on-line news visitors and that of news media impacts upon their evaluation on quality of comments from the viewpoint of 'social identity theory.' This study may have academic significance because it inspected the pattern of media usage and the cognition of comments in relation to political disposition for the first time and showed 'comments reading' and the function of comments to form public opinion(comments journalism).

Online news has replaced the traditional newspaper and has brought about a profound transformation in the way we access and share information. News websites have had the ability for users to post comments for quite some time, and some have also begun to crowdsource reactions to news articles. The field of sentiment analysis seeks to computationally model the emotions and reactions experienced when presented with text. In this work, we analyze more than 100,000 news articles over ten categories with five user-generated emotional annotations to determine whether or not these reactions have a mathematical correlation to the news body text and propose a simple sentiment analysis algorithm that requires minimal preprocessing and no machine learning. We show that it is effective even for a morphologically complex language like Korean.
The way people read news is changing, from print to screen. In this study, we aimed to understand the impact of the use of infographics in news on readers. According to a study conducted by Reuters Research Institute at the University of Oxford in 2017, the proportion of online consumers of news is steadily increasing, with over 51 per cent of Americans receiving news via social media. Additionally, newspaper subscription rates are rapidly declining. According to previous studies, the understanding of text information is higher in print media than on screen. Therefore, to compensate for the weaknesses in the understanding of online news, online news media are providing infographic news services to deliver good news. Therefore, this study attempted to understand the impact of using infographics in the news. To this end, three experiments were conducted. The findings from the study indicate that the use of infographics in news has a positive effect on users in terms of the variables measured, including cognitive effect and acceptance of news. As compared with print news, on-screen news was not as effective in terms of comprehension. However, we propose interactive infographics to enhance communication effect along with improved design.
Purpose: As comprehensive nursing care service has gradually expanded, it has become necessary to explore the various opinions about it. The purpose of this study is to explore the large amount of text data regarding comprehensive nursing care service extracted from online news and social media by applying a semantic network analysis. Methods: The web pages of the Korean Nurses Association (KNA) News, major daily newspapers, and Twitter were crawled by searching the keyword 'comprehensive nursing care service' using Python. A morphological analysis was performed using KoNLPy. Nodes on a 'comprehensive nursing care service' cluster were selected, and frequency, edge weight, and degree centrality were calculated and visualized with Gephi for the semantic network. Results: A total of 536 news pages and 464 tweets were analyzed. In the KNA News and major daily newspapers, 'nursing workforce' and 'nursing service' were highly rated in frequency, edge weight, and degree centrality. On Twitter, the most frequent nodes were 'National Health Insurance Service' and 'comprehensive nursing care service hospital.' The nodes with the highest edge weight were 'national health insurance,' 'wards without caregiver presence,' and 'caregiving costs.' 'National Health Insurance Service' was highest in degree centrality. Conclusion: This study provides an example of how to use atypical big data for a nursing issue through semantic network analysis to explore diverse perspectives surrounding the nursing community through various media sources. Applying semantic network analysis to online big data to gather information regarding various nursing issues would help to explore opinions for formulating and implementing nursing policies.
Text mining is one of the big data analysis methods that extracts meaningful information from atypical large-scale text data. In this study, text mining was used to monitor citizens' opinions on the policies and systems being implemented. We collected 5,108 newspaper articles and 748 online cafe posts related to 'Gyeonggi Lacal Currency' and performed frequency analysis, TF-IDF analysis, association analysis, and word tree visualization analysis. As a result, many articles related to the purpose of introducing local currency, the benefits provided, and the method of use. However, the contents related to the actual use of local currency were written in the online cafe posts. In order to revitalize local currency, the news was involved in the promotion of local currency as an informant. Online cafe posts consisted of the opinions of citizens who are local currency users. SNS and text mining are expected to effectively activate various policies as well as local currency.
