Recently, The online role playing games (RPG) get into spotlight of worldwide game marketing area because of the rapid growth of high speed Internet environment during a decade. The almost online RPGs are made of campaign scenario that constructed in series. In this paper, we propose the Distributed Server Model for the Evolutionary Online RPGs which have series scenario (Campaign). In order to represents evolutionary online RPGs, We configure the online RPG server uniquely by means of one to one mapping between logical and physical game world. We also configure the game worlds using circular queue form to express the evolution of civilization by reconstruction of game world.

In the lately fews years, it take a growing interested in game AI and study zealously on game AI. In this paper, we research an usual individuality of NPC(Non-Player Character) on MMORPG(Massively Multiplayor Online Role Playing Game) and An AI technique on computer game. we study on a role and an individuality of NPC for take-up the game, moreover, we research on technique of game AI for take-up the game.
An important application domain for online services is an interactive, multi-player game. In recent, many increase of users that use on-line services through networks have caused a heavy load to the server. In this paper, we propose a MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) distributed game server using flayer-Cell. Our method provides efficient solution of a MMORPG distributed game server for large numbers of users. It is shown through the experiments that our method outperforms existing methods in terms of memory utilization rate and processing speed.

Game bot playing is one of the main risks in Massively Multi-Online Role Playing Games(MMORPG) because it damages overall game playing environment, especially the balance of the in-game economy. There have been many studies to detect game bot. However, the previous detection models require continuous maintenance efforts to train and learn the game bots' patterns whenever the game contents change. In this work, we have proposed a machine learning technique using the self-similarity property that is an intrinsic attribute in game bots and automated maintenance system. We have tested our method and implemented a system to major three commercial games in South Korea. As a result, our proposed system can detect and classify game bots with high accuracy.
Game industry, especially MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) has rapidly been expanding in these days. In this background, lots of online game security incidents have been increasing and getting more diversity. One of the most critical security incidents is 'Bots', mimics human player's playing behaviors. Bots performs the task without any manual works, it is considered unfair with other players. So most game companies try to block Bots by analyzing the packets between clients and servers. However this method can be easily attacked, because the packets are changeable when it is send to server. In this paper, we propose a Bots detection method by observing the playing patterns of game characters with data on server. In this method, Bots developers cannot handle the data, because it is working on server. Therefore Bots cannot avoid it and we can find Bots users more completely.
MMORPG, massively multi-players in online role-playing game, is the most popular genre in online games. Because large number of players interacts with each other, virtual worlds in MMORPG are alike communities of real worlds. Moreover, players in virtual worlds trade game items with real money. This paper is to find impacts of real-money trading into real worlds, and game operators, by using two-period model between players of the game and the game operator. It was found that real-money trading benefits game operators, and there exists optimal supply of game items to maximize the profit of game operator. Moreover we found that the income disparity in real worlds could be decreased when real-money trading is allowed To support the analytical model, we used an empirical analysis using real-money trading data, and find the relationship among play time of MMORPG, transaction volume of real-money trading, and price of game items. In empirical analysis, it was found that real-money trading benefits game operators. Moreover, it was found that play time and price have positive relationship.
This study looks at the social implications of gaming disorder by considering the situation in Korea. Focusing on specificity of game genres, this study analyzed two aspects of the game playing effect-positive(cognitive needs) and negative(game addiction)-and suggested directions for game regulation policies and game addiction studies, since game playing effects are closely related to game regulatory policy. To analyze game effects and attitudes to regulations, this study performed regression analysis based on the online survey. Results show that game playing effects and attitudes toward game regulation differ based on the nature of game genres. While longer gaming increased the effect of addiction, it also increased cognitive needs. Playing roleplaying, Aeon of Strife, and strategy game genres(RAS), which are subject to game regulation, increased game addiction levels but simultaneously contributed to increased cognitive needs. While playing augmented reality genres positively affected cognitive needs, it also showed favorable attitudes to general game regulation.

As game item trading becomes more popular with the rapid growth of online game market, the market for trading game items by cash has increased up to KRW 1.6 trillion. Thanks to this active market, it has been easy to turn these items and game money into real money. As a result, some malicious users have often attempted to steal other players' rare and valuable game items by using their account. Therefore, this study proposes a detection model through analysis on these account thieves' behavior in the Massive Multiuser Online Role Playing Game(MMORPG). In case of online game identity theft, the thieves engage in economic activities only with a goal of stealing game items and game money. In this pattern are found particular sequences such as item production, item sales and acquisition of game money. Based on this pattern, this study proposes a detection model. This detection model-based classification revealed 86 percent of accuracy. In addition, trading patterns when online game identity was stolen were analyzed in this study.
Auto-playing programs are often used in behalf of human players in MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game). By playing automatically and continuously, it helps to speed up the game character's level-up process. However, the auto-playing programs, either software or hardware, do harm to games servers in various ways including abuse of resources. In this paper, we propose a way of detecting the auto programs by analyzing the window event sequences produced by the game players. In our proposed method, the event sequences are transformed into a set of attributes, and the Decision Tree learning is applied to classify the data represented by the set of attribute values into human or auto player. The results from experiments with several MMORPG show that the Decision Tree learning with proposed method can identify the auto-playing programs with high accuracy.
Users connect to game server for considerably many hours and perform their roles in MMORPG(Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game), users' immersion degree is very higher than other games, have known affluent contents make users play various roles in game world. However, although contents of games are improved quite much, MMORPG remains still boring game. It is because that the NPC (Non Player Character)' behavior patterns that are the most important elements to make games fun are so simple. So, in this paper we proposed a method to create NPC that react in player's inclination by implanting personality and emotion to NPC.
